Pokemon Snap Walkthrough
The Beach: Most Pokemon on the Beach are visible and easy to find, although there a few that cant be spotted without some help. First you see a group of Pidgey, then a Doduo and Pikachu. Then a few feet away if Butterfree. Lapras cant be seen too well, it hides in the ocean and cant be seen too clearly the first couple of times, but once it knows you're only taking pictures, it comes closer towards the end of the course. Snorlax is right there on the side of the course. However, he is lying on his back and cant be seen unless you play the Poke Flute for him. Then he gets up and dances while you play. Meowth is on a hill right after Snorlax, throw Pester Balls at him to make him fall off. Scyther is probably the hardest Pokemon to capture on film in this course. He is hiding in the grass right after you see the first Meowth. Throw Poke Food or Pester Balls into it to make him fly up. This will startle two Pikachu, who will run out and jump on a stump. Play the Poke Flute for them to see an electric display. Another Scyther is hiding in the bushes after the bridge, do the same thing to get him to come out, but this one is harder to awaken than the first. Magikarp can be spotted by throwing Poke Food or Pester Balls into the water at the bridge. Also do he same at the small lake at the end of the course. You will see an Eevee chasing what appears to be a small pink ball. Throw Poke Food or Pester Balls at it and Chansey emerges. Play the Poke Flute and Chansey will dance. You will see something that looks like a huge rock staring toward the ocean. Toss Poke Food or Pester Balls at it and Kangaskhan will turn around, annoyed by you. Before you proceed, Professor Oak makes you snap at least 6 Pokemon, which wont be hard at all.
The Tunnel:Most Pokemon in the Tunnel are also hanging out in the open for you to see, although some are camera shy....
First you see a Pikachu, snap his pic a few times and he will hop on top o an Electrode, who is the next Pokemon you see. Then you will run into a Electabuzz, then Kakuna and Zubat. Kakuna are hanging on the ceiling by threads, they descend for snapshots whenever an Electrode explodes. You come across a strange looking egg, which is the home for Zapdos. Throw Poke Food close to the egg to get Pikachu to come closer. Then play the Poke Flute and Pikachu will thundershock the egg until it cracks, Zapdos then emerges. You will then see floating purple orbs, take pictures of them and when you examine your film, you will have shots of Haunter. Afer that you will see Magikarp and Zubat once again. You will then see Diglett and Pikachu. Snap Diglett and he will go underground. Pikachu will run over to a different spot where Diglett will pop up. The third time this hapens, Dugtrio pops up instead of Diglett. Each time you do this to Dugtrio, another Dugtrio joins the group. After that you see two Electabuzz, throw Poke Food at them to make them angry and turn on the clues. The Magnemites are camera shy, and magnetize themselves to screw up your focus. Pelt them with Pester Balls to confuse them and snap their pic. To get Magneton, lure the Magnemites together with Poke Food and they will bond together to form Magneton. To get into the Volcano, pelt the Electrode hiding in the corner towards the end of the course with Poke Food or Pester Balls and he will explode, explosing the entrance of the Volcano.
The Volcano: There are only three or four Pokemon in the Volcano that could be considered hard to find. First of all you see a herd of Rapidash running along the path, then a Vulpix. Throw Poke Food in front of you to lead it to another group of Vulpix, more Pokemon of the same species in one picture mean more points. Then you will see a Charmander standing by a Magmar.Throw Poke Food over there and they will fight. Magmar will faint Charmander who then evolves into Charmeleon and faints Magmar. Then you will see a lonely Charmander. Throw Poke Food close to him and he will call his friends to join in. Throw Poke Food or a Pester Ball at the egg blocking your path, to release a Moltres. You then see two Magmar, throw them some Poke Food, they will fight over it, earning you special points if you caputre Magmar's Fight. You will then se three boiling lava pits. Toss Pester Balls into them and varios Pokemon, Growlithe or Arcanine, will pop out. Get them while they are shaking the lava off themselves for the most points. Next you will see another Charmeleon, use Pester Balls or Poke Food to launch him into the lava crater and he evolves into Charizard. Toss Poke Food at his head to enrage him, he will then perform Fire Spin at you, earning you points. Dont worry though, it wont hurt. To proceed to the River, Professor Oak requires a minimum of 22 Pokemon caputured on film.
The River: The River is a fun place to visit, but it seems as if all the Pokemon are hiding! There are only a few that are out in plain daylight! The first Pokemon that crosses your path is Poliwag. There is one on the riverbank. Throw Pester Balls at it to make it run to a small clearing with another Poliwag, throw another one to make those two climb the hill to the other one. Wait til you get past them, and turn around for the best shot. Now toss a Pester Ball at them to get a perfect view of all of them running down the hill and diving into the water. But while you are doing this, you are missing Bulbasaur, so dont try and snap his picture, wait til later. Next you see a rather large flower in a clearing by the river. Play the Poke Flute and you see its actually Vileplume's head! She rises up and starts dancing. Then several Shellder begin rising up out of the water. Next you see a Slowpoke. Toss Poke Food at the platform with a Shellder sign on it. He will stick his tail in the water, fishing for Shellder. In no time he has a bite, he flings it up, evolving into Slowbro. Next you see several Metapod haning in the canopy above the river. Hurtle a Pester Ball their way to make one come down for a close up. You will then see Psyduck swimming around in the water. After that, you will see several stumps on the side of the river. Look closely and you will see noses. Throw Pester Balls at them to explose a Porygon. Next several Shellder emerge from the river to prform an air show, followed by a rather large Cloyster. You will then see a Magikarp diving into the water, and a Pikachu hiding behind rock facing. Toss Pester balls at him to see him perform Agility, capturing Speed Pikachu on film. To get on to the Cave, you will see a bright red button on the side of the river right before you see Cloyster. Toss a Pester Ball at the "nose" and Porygon jumps out and hits the button, opening a door that pulls the current down a waterfall into the cave.
The Cave: You have entered the Cave. A fair amount of Pokemon are hiding, or just hard to get on film. First you see Zubat who is just a little fast to get a good shot of. Next you see several Grimer. Pelt them with Poke Food and Pester Balls to get a close up. Next you see a Grimer on a cliff (If you dont, its because you didnt take enough pictures of the other Grimer.) Toss a few Pester Balls at him (Three to be exact), and it will make it evolve to Muk. Next you see three Bulbasaur..... or do you? Something about them is..... different. The eyes! Its the eyes! Pelt them with Pester Balls to yank these Ditto's back ino their true form, but remeber: If you take pictures of them as Bulbasaurs, they will be counted as Bulbasaurs. Next you will see a Koffing chasing a Jigglypuff. Hurl Poke Food or Pester Balls at Koffing once you got his picture. You will see two more Koffings chasing two more Jigglypuff. Help them out too. Coming up you will see Weepinbell. Just add water (Hit him with Pester Balls or Pokemon Food to knock him in the water) to make this Pokemon evolve into Victreebell and get another picture. Now you will see a Zubat carrying a poor defensless Pikachu away (Why cant use play the Poke Flute and make Pikachu thundershock Zubat!?!) Throw Pester Balls and Poke Food at Zubat, if you hit him he'll drop little Pika who pulls out Balloons and floats to safety. Next you see two Jynx surrounding an egg. Play your Poke Flute and Articuno emerges, and (supposedly, because this is the only shot I cant get in the game) flies around and pick up Pikachu for a special Flying Pikachu shot. The next Pokemon you see is Jigglypuff, how many you rescued from Koffing (Ex: if you rescued two Jigglypuff there will be two Jigglypuff on stage) and of course this special shot is worth bonus points. Next, if you managed to get three shots of Zubat earlier, you will see three Zubat flapping down toward the Zero - One. Right as the leader gets to you, snap a close up. To proceed to The Valley, you need to have pictures of 40 different types of Pokemon.
The Valley: In here, Pokemon are out in the open and everywhere. First you see shells in the river. Hit them with Pester Balls and Squirtles hop out of th river. Next you see Magikarp. Hit him on te riverbank using Pester Balls or Poke Food. Then a nearby Mankey will get him and hurl him over a mountain for later. Next you see Geodude hangin on a wall, knock him off and Sandshrew pops up outta the ground. Do this with the other two Geodude's too. Next you see two more Geodude, make them fall and Graveler will fall with them, making Sandslash jump out of the dirt. Next you see several Gravler clinging to a wall. Play the Poke Flute for them and they hop down and dance. A few feet away you spot that pesty Magikarp that Mankey hurled over the Mountain. Hit it with a Pester Ball and have your camera ready. He will jump into the waterfall, evolve, and Gyarados sticks his head out, if you get a picture with th froth from the waterfall surrounding him, it will get extra points. Next you see three Staryu, take a picture of each of them they will fly around you. Then you will see Mankey on a cliff, ignore him, he is too far away to make a good shot. Hurl four Pester Balls into the whirlpool you see while the Staryu are hopping in it, and Dragonite hope out. For the best shots, get him overhead. Next the three Staryu will hop out, fully evolved into Starmi. The you will see three Squirtle shells. Hit them with Pester Balls and if you hit them right they will knock off a Mankey at the top of the mountain. Next you see Dratini, Goldeen, and Magikarp in the water. Now you will see Mankey on the riverbank, hit him with a Pester Ball to send him flying back, hitting the button, opening the gate so you can go see Professor Oak and lear about the six Pokemon Signs.
Professor Oak> During my traves around Pokemon Island, I've come across several areas that resemble Pokemon. If you can manage to find these areas, I would appreciate your taking some pictures for the Pokemon Report.
Basically, you hafta find the six Pokemon Signs one in each course, to reach the hidden level, Rainbow Cloud.
The Six Pokemon Signs: There is one in each level
The Beach: Mostly rocks spread out over the high tide line of the beach look pretty innocent, but when you view them from exactly the righ angle they come together to look like a Kingler. Location: Beach, between Pikachu and Butterfree.
The Tunnel: You may have noticed a collection of junk metal in the old Power Plant. In the dark it's worthless, but if you get Zapdos to turn on the power, a spotlight will illuminae a Pinsir's shadow. Location: Tunnel, between Electabuzz and Electrode.
The Volcano: At thevery beginning of the level you'll see some Rapidash lingerng around a smoking crater. Toss a Pester Ball inside to make it belch out a cloud of smoke tht resembles Koffing. Location: Volcano, crater at beginning of course.
The River: The Poison Powder sitng out of the Vileplume obscures the scenery, but when it starts dancing in response to your Poke Flute, te shape of a Cubone will slowly become visible. Location: River, behind Vileplume.
The Cave: If you turned around near the Weepinbell's pool you probably saw a constellationof gittering objects (What appeared to be huge eyeballs, to m) on the far wall. Snap a few shots --- developing your pictures will reveal Mewtwo. Location: Cave, behind Weepinbell, near the third Koffing chasing the third Jigglypuff.
The Valley: As the Zero - One touches dwn at the entrance to the Valley's white water, look at the horizon. The mountains there have a distinct rounded shape, and closer inspection reveals Dugtrio. Location: Valley, on horizon at entrance, behind first Mankey.
