Today was my first day in the Official Pokemon TCG League. I went with my sister (Urrrrrg). When we first got there, it was really busy. We signed in, and just for joining, we got exclusive Pokemon promo cards. We got: Prerelease Dark Gyarados, Mew, Ivy Pikachu, and Arcinine promo.
Then we had to complete the Pokemon League Activity sheet. If we completed it, we got a special Pokemon card. This week, we got prerelease Misty's Seadra.
After the activity, we got to trade and play. We have a special "Sudden Death" game, where you don't use energy cards. I played a couple of times, but I'm better at the non sudden death.
Then I traded. I now have a 2nd edition holo Ninetales, and a Japanese Blaine's Charmaner, and a Dark Kadabra.
Joining the Pokemon League is really fun and everybody is friendly. I can't wait to go next week!
August 14th, 2000
Once again at 5:20 pm, my sister and I set off to the Pokemon League Gym (Namely Toys R Us). Since we were early, I went to look at some cards, and I discovered that the Gym Heroes theme decks and booster packs are out!!! I bought Misty's deck. Then, since I had no more room in my card holder, I bought some more. That brought us up to the sign in time. We did the activity, with only one problem, we had to draw our favorite Pokemon evolving. My favorite is Mew, it doesn't evolve. So I drew Metapod evolving into Butterfree.
We traded and got our points. And I battled a few times and finally reached the point where you get new cards. The new cards are: Holo Eevee, Holo Mew, Team Rocket's Meowth, and Computer Error. I only have 190 more points until the Boulder Badge. I can't wait until next Monday!
