| No matter what Pokémon you pick it will be weak against Pokémon sooner or later. Squirtle will be good for Brock and Misty. Ivysaur will not learn its moves in time to face either Brock or Misty. Charmander will not help at all, he will be better later in the game. Pikachu has no affect for Brocks Pokémon though he kicks Ash verses Misty. If you have red or blue you best bet if you have trouble at the begining of the game would be to choose Squirtle. Later in the game if you have trouble pick Charmander. If you have yellow, Pikachu would be great. Although he has very low defence, his speed and attack are pretty high. Your line-up should contain at least Pikachu and/or Squirtle, Pidgey, and Nidoran (male) when you face Brock and Misty. Raise these Pokémon's level high. At least Lv. 15 for Brock and Lv. 20-22 for Misty. After you will face a lot of trainers and collect no Pokémon so you line-up won't matter for the rest of the Gyms. |
