One of the other pokemon games that invaded the N64 was the lovable character Pikachu playing the main role in the N64 game, Pikachu Genki Dechu which translates into Pikachu is Feeling Fine. This game, like mentioned in the title, revolves around Pikachu and what he does with you. The game comes with an ear phone and a speaker phone headset that you use to communicate with Pikachu. This V.oice R.ecognition S.ystem is new to the video game console market. Below and to the left is a picture of the N64 with the game and headset.
The V.oice R.ecognition S.ystem responds only to the Japanese language, so it will probably be quite a while till it comes out to the US. Depending on what phrase or word you say into the microphone, Pikachu will react differently. When you say "kawaii", the Japanese word for "cute", Pikachu will smile, and sometimes blush. When you say "baka", the Japanese word for "stupid" into the microphone, Pikachu gets mad and will run away if you keep doing it. If you don't speak clearly into the microphone, Pikachu will get a questioning look on him and kind of shrug his shoulders.
As said in EGM, Pikachu Genki Dechu is the ultimate virtual pet with the ultimate character playing the main role. This game has gotten excellent reviews in Japan and goes frequently out of stock whenever a store gets it. This is the third release for pokemon on the N64. Those three titles are Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Snap, and Pikachu Genki Dechu. Pokemon Snap will soon be released in Japan and the US.
Here are some screen shots of Pikachu in action.
