Pokémon Yellow is similar to the Red and Blue versions of the game, but in this edition Professor Oak gives you Pikachu as your first Pokémon. This particular Pikachu doesn't like being cooped up in a Poké Ball, so you can actually see Pikachu as it follows your character on the screen.

Below Fuchsia City there is a small shack where a man named Dude lives. Dude will ask you if you want to surf, but only if you have a special Pokémon called Surfing Pikachu.

This ultra-rare Pokémon is similar to Mew, in that the only way to get it is to have it put on your Game Pak by an official Nintendo representative. If you're lucky enough to get it, you can take Pikachu surfing near Dude's shack. Surfing Pikachu can perform all kinds of tricks on the waves, and it's the only Pikachu that can use Water-type attacks
