Pokémon Yellow is similar to the Red and Blue versions of the game, but in this edition Professor Oak gives you Pikachu as your first Pokémon. This particular Pikachu doesn't like being cooped up in a Poké Ball, so you can actually see Pikachu as it follows your character on the screen.
You can look at Pikachu whenever you like, and its mood will change depending on how you've been treating it. Check out the Pika Page to learn how to keep your Pikachu happy. Other special features of Pokémon Yellow include:
1. Heal Pikachu immediately if it is damaged by a long-lasting special attack such as Burn or Poison
2. Keep Pikachu in your active line-up
3. Allow Pikachu to fight first in every battle
4. Pikachu gets happier as it gains experience

Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition is a great way for new Pokémon Trainers to enter the Pokémon universe, and it gives experienced Trainers a new challenge in their quest to become the world's greatest Pokémon Trainer.

The Pokémon Game Boy Color comes bundled with the latest addition to the Pokémon library, Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition. Whether you're a new Pokémon Trainer or an experienced Pokémon Master, this is one special Pokémon package you can't afford to miss!

Below Fuchsia City there is a small shack where a man named Dude lives. Dude will ask you if you want to surf, but only if you have a special Pokémon called Surfing Pikachu.
This ultra-rare Pokémon is similar to Mew, in that the only way to get it is to have it put on your Game Pak by an official Nintendo representative. If you're lucky enough to get it, you can take Pikachu surfing near Dude's shack. Surfing Pikachu can perform all kinds of tricks on the waves, and it's the only Pikachu that can use Water-type attacks |
