History
Dragon Ball was first created by a manga artist named Akira Toriyama whose works encompass, Dr. Slump and the character designs of many video games including Tobal, Chrono Trigger, and Dragon Quest.
Dragon Ball made its' debut in 1984 in the Weekly Shonen Jump. From there Dragon Ball, really took off. During what I like to call the baby years, Dragon Ball was geared and suited more toward to the younger audiences with it's slapstick comedy. But somewhere along the lines, Dragon Ball began to become more violent and less humorous. (Btw, it was near the end of Dragon Ball, when Piccolo the Demon King was first introduced, it became more violent.) Soon, Dragon Ball, the anime ended and Dragon Ball Z began. Dragon Ball Z focused more on fighting and character development then comedy. (Dragon Ball Z is still funny, of course.) From there Dragon Ball Z, captured the hearts of millions all over Japan and the world. Officially, the Dragon Ball series is over, but it still remains in the hearts of those fans who stuck with it through all those years.
