Margaret Mead Anthropologist POINT, People Owning Infinite New Tomorrows, needs people who recognize the need for a raising of consciousness in our society, and who are willing to begin taking responsibility for making a positive difference, so that we can regain the liveability of our communities. You know who you are. You want to break away from the negative, upwardly mobile, world class, me first, upscale, greed oriented society that WE have created. You further recognize that there exists an enormous amount of gratuitous violence in sports and entertainment. Lastly, you recognize that the only way to effect positive changes is exactly the same way we created these situations in the first place, and that is by making different choices. POINT is communicating and networking with individuals, families, and groups that fit the above description. Why? Because we feel that by linking groups of people together, the power of the whole becomes greater than the power of the individual components. Where can this networking lead? Who knows for sure. We (Larry & Sylvia) live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We have been on a conscious path for the past 30 years, all the while going about the business of living in the late 20th century, and all that that implies. We've raised a family, held (and lost) jobs, made (and lost) money, lived in several different cities, and in general, have done all the things that most people do. Over the years, we have come to feel, that a simple way of living, consisting of the caring, respect, support, nourishment, and love for self and our fellow human beings, is what makes for success and happiness, not just the accumulation of possessions for the sake of possessing! We further believe, that each of us who recognize the validity of this concept, and think, speak, AND ACT in this way, are surely making a difference. The difference is first only within ourselves, however, because each of us has a "circle of influence" (a group of family, friends, business associates, etc.), how we speak and act "influences" that group. The ripple effect then takes over, as each member of each circle, begins to influence his/her own circle. The one voice becomes many voices, and the raising of many voices, speaking together, brings about the monumental changes for which we yearn. This may sound like a pipe dream to some. But our professional experience, POINT’S rapid growth, and the response of people such as you, has shown us that the time for serious positive change is NOW - for the future of each individual, for each community, and for all cities and countries in the world! As John Lennon wrote: We hope someday you'll join us, And the world will live as one. We would be honoured to have you join with us in POINT.
