CHAMPAGNE CREATIONS

Champagne silk, stroking my skin
Slow teasing thoughts, brush against my mind
Feather kisses, a pen gliding against my paper

Passions erupting, a new chapter begins
Your words caressing my jacket as
a new book evolves.
Step by step together through it all
telling each version as we see it

You drink in my tears as the blue ink smears
Struggling to read over the old hurts of yesteryears
Some wounds still as fresh as the last moon

You enfold me within your wings
Showing me, I have the strength to turn a new page
Leading new directions, new characters and bylines

I dry the blood from your veins as I cry out your name
Ecstasy in healing, a new tale revealing the tenderness
of a man ... that has walked life's path alone for too long
Rock and roll or Rhythm and blues ... deep down inside
I am beginning to see the real you

Two people exploring, the stories of our souls
Climbing higher and higher, touching the sky
Day after day, more and more
Deeper and deeper with each phrase ... our creations soar
Our eyes gaze out into the mist and discover pure bliss
with each page we originate

Sharing the wonders of our minds
The euphoria of our desires ... all our energy transpiring
Into one climactic and tantalizing yarn

Mystery, intrigue, devilishly daring
Mesmerizing, hypnotizing ....
Wondering what the ultimate entry will be

I HEAR

I hear the sobs that she cries, although she keeps them inside
I hear the demons calling out to her, although she would never tell me they were there
I hear the flight of her soul, when she finally lets go

I hear the song in her heart, as her new love starts
I hear the worry in her thoughts, because she fought
so hard to remain carefree

I hear the excitement in her mind, because she was sure she would never find
the love and desire that she craved for so long

I hear the song that she sings, although she doesn't share his name

I hear the tears of joy, when she say's "I do"

I hear the fulfillment deep down inside her, as she gives birth to
another little boy

I hear the love and happiness across the shores of time

I finally hear, a contented sigh ...as I fly away upon the clouds in the sky
letting her hear my whispered ...good-bye

MY LAST KISS - GOODNIGHT

You came to me upon a dream ...
or so it had seemed
Your eyes sparkling
like a thousand stars in the skies
Your hair the color of honey...
With a smile so sunny
You wore no disguise
You wove a spell
around my heart
Promising me, your love
will never part
Little did we know...
God had another plan
to take you
from this land
Where I can no longer
feel the touch of your hand
I sit with your head upon my lap
Tears streaming down my face
No longer caring about a ladies grace
You give me one last shining smile
and ask me to hold you a while
Making me promise
that another love I will find
no matter what mountain I may
have to climb
Knowing in my heart
that a love like ours
is a rare ... and wonderful ... art
"Baby, kiss me one last time," you plead
Oh, how my heart did bleed
as a kiss upon your lips
I did render
As you closed your eyes
and surrendered...
I whispered softly...
My love, here is my last ... kiss goodnight

GATES OF HEAVEN

As holidays pass
and the spring grass does grow
Images of you
flash in my mind
Melancholy memories
bringing hints of a smile to my lips
and traces of tears to my eyes
As the cold weather dies
and the spring skies turn clear blue
Let the new warm breeze carry my promise to you
"I will meet you inside the gates of heaven,
when the day my angel comes for me "

A LIFETIME OF GUILT

A child conceived, a mother deceived
A lifetime of hell to come
Promises broken, hateful words spoken

A mothers guilt, of not wanting to bring another
child into this ugly world
Guilt, of giving you a father filled with such hate

Feeling you grow, the mothers heart
filled
Feeling you kick, a smile cannot help but kiss the lips
A love begins for this unborn child
that breathes in the womb

Six months go by, and a bond had begun
Such love for that daughter or son

A kick and a shove
The angels came down from above
Carrying you on their wings of love

A man filled with rage, ended your unborn life
that day

A daughter, that will never breath the air
or
feel her mothers touch upon her tender cheek

A lifetime of guilt ... will remain

THE HARDEST WISH TO GRANT

Almond shaped eyes, with specks of gold
watching as the sky lights up
like the colors in a rainbow

A face of innocence
gazing up at me in awe
at the beauty that his eyes saw

A closer look shows the tiny flaw
of a tear in the corner of his eye
I kneel down and ask him, "Why?"

With a touch of his small hand upon my face. This is what he replied,
"Mommy, if wishing on a star can make your wishes come true
Imagine what wishing on the grandest firework will do?"

My heart can't help but smile at the logic of a child

"And what is it that you would wish for, baby?"

"I would wish for my daddy to come back and love me once more"

A silent sob escapes my throat ... as my heart shatters to
the floor

DANCE WITH AN ANGEL

You sweep down upon me from above
And plead, "May I have this dance, my love?"

I place my hand in yours and together we dance
the night skies with only the stars shining brightly,
to light our path

You gaze down at me, with your eyes so blue
and I see heaven shining from their
translucent hue

You are my angel from heaven, dancing an ageless dance
gracing me with your loving presence and showing me
that love is worth a second chance

You embrace my soul and shelter me from the cold
It is with you, that I want to grow old.

Dancing cheek to cheek as our hearts fly free
Knowing this love was meant to be

You are my angel in this nighttime reverie
dancing together for the rest of our lives

TEARS FROM HEAVEN

He is floating on the clouds above
watching us from afar

His spirit is around us
we can feel him
every where we roam

I sit alone at night
without a fright
because I feel him hovering over me
Knowing that the man that I loved is watching over us

I know that we have our own guardian angel
and every time the rain falls
I know it's his tears

Tears of missing us
Tears for our pain
Knowing that he died
in vain

I lie in bed at night
and
I can feel the lightness of
his hand caress my face
Yearning for his embrace

Tortured reflections
without destiny
roaming my soul
knowing that you
I will never again hold

I awake with a start
and feel a dampness on my skin
I wipe my eyes thinking it's my tears
that I cry
because another night is ending and I am
still dreaming of you

My eyes are dry, it is not I that cries
These are tears from heaven

ONLY THREE

A tumble, a fall
a great despair
throughout it all

I cry out with fright
Tears overflowing
and blinding my sight

I struggle to catch you
to no avail

You hit the ground
without a sound
My life starts whirling around

The sirens, the doctors,
the beeping machines
Dear lord, what does all this mean

My body aching with
heart wrenching fear
My heart in shock
not willing to believe

"It's only a matter of time,"
the final prognosis
rendering me hopeless

My heart so heavy
The air crushed in my lungs
No longer will we sing the song
that we always sung

I weep to an empty room,
how can this be,
for she is only three

My heart pounding
I can hear it's rumble in my ears
thinking of all the lost years

I lay beside you
watching that ominous gray machine

Never, no never, have I known
such sadness
as I look back on all the gladness

My fingers stroking your face
as I watch your body quake
I know your leaving me
I can see the empty
look upon your face
as I lie there holding you
in my loving embrace

I sing your favorite song
praying for them to be wrong
I am not ready, not ready at all
A smile appears on your face

I will never see your first day of school
or your first ballet recital
my life will be so idle

No high school dances, or first romances
No graduation or college valedictorian

The walk down the isle, will no longer be
I think, as I see you inhale your last breathe
as I say good-bye to my daughter of only three

MY ANGEL WINGS

I will carry you
upon my golden wings

Keeping you away from harms reach
gliding across the skies of blue
with their powder blue hue

I will watch you sleep fitfully
and slowly touch your face
and fill you with my warm embrace

You may stumble and fall
but though it all
I will make sure
that you do it with
grace

And as you grow tired
Don't ever be afraid to fly
for I will carry you through
the pearly gates
of heaven

And at last
you can sleep peacefully

OUR GUARDIAN ANGEL

The raindrops on my skin are so cold
when can you be told
I wonder as I sit here and hold you

How am I to tell you
that your daddy,
you will never see again

He can not come back
or sing you a lullaby
or wipe those tears from your eyes

For he is with the angels above
floating on the clouds
looking down on us

He watches as we sit here
with the raindrops mixing with our tears
trying to erase our fears

Before us his image appears
And say's...
"I will be with you
I will protect you
And even though my body no longer walks this earth
The love in my heart will never die
So when you hurt for me the most,
close your eyes and think of all the happy thoughts
and of my caress on your sweet cheek
and know
that my love you both still hold
So please dry your tears now
weep for me no more
get out of the rain
and go in and close the door"

A STEP INTO THE FUTURE

I saw you yesterday, as I passed by
you raised your hand and waved hi
I stopped for a minute
as you came down the steps
you opened the gate so that I could go in it
Your face wore a lovely smile
but when I looked up to meet your eyes
I saw behind the smile
and it was all a disuse
I touched your cheek
and asked what's wrong
And you said, "not to worry, for you no longer belong"
as the radio in the background played our favorite song
I kissed your face as I walked away
with that, I had nothing left to say

I got a call
from your mother today
She said that in your sleep
you passed away
I sat dumbfounded
as my heart was surrounded
by the devastation
my soul was in

We cried together, her & I
remembering the days that had gone by
I had to do it
I needed answers
so I turned to her
and asked her, "Why?"

My dear, she said
he new that soon he would be dead
and was hoping in time your heart no longer bled
for him
The doctor told him
the day he packed his bags
He didn't want you living
a life filled with sickness
He loved you dear
his motives were clear
and very sincere

I felt filled with anger
as I thought this man had been a stranger
How dare he make such a decision for me
I sit alone here in my reverie

We laid you to rest
and gave you the best
as the tears fell from
our eyes to our breast
I stayed as everyone around me
walked away
thinking of the of the old days gone by
Asking why, over and over a million times
There just is no reason to this rhyme

I feel a hand upon my arm
as I turn around
my heart flew upside down
Your eyes cast down at me
as a finger wiped the tears
that stained my cheek
Baby, you said
I didn't want you watch me die
I wanted you to remember the happy guy
the one that filled your heart and soul
The guy that laid and held you tight
deep into the night
My heart, it was you that always held
as I soar away leaving you my soul
Remember dear heart
you have always been the one
and my love for you will always live on

Wipe the tears
Wash away your fears
I will watch over you for many years
My wish for you
is to find another love that is true
and for your heart
no longer to be blue
He brushed a kiss
across my lips
as he flew to the heavens

I looked around
no one was to be found
as I watched them lay you
in the cold ground
I laid a rose across the casket
and touched a kiss to the petals
Thank you,
for showing me the love that will always
come from above

A deep breathe I inhaled
as they threw the first shovel of dirt
A tear I wiped
as I took a first step into the future

MY ANGEL

You were still inside your mother
the day we found out
that your heart didn't flutter

We hoped and we prayed
for your birth to be smooth

The family, the Priest, the crash cart,
awaited your arrival

We stood outside the door
silently praying
Hoping for the day
that we would watch you playing

A baby's cry
Doctors and nurses
hurrying to care for you
with your skin of blue

Two days old now
your having open heart surgery

Watching as they take you from the ICU Nursery
as tears fall from our eyes
not knowing if we should say our good-byes

Time goes by slowly
as we watch the hands on the clock tick by

Finally the doctor comes out
with a smile and a shout
You are safe for the time being

In a few more months we will have
to start anew
because surely by then
you will again be turning blue.

DEVIL OR ANGEL

Deep golden curls
Forever ... aunties little girl
Hazel eyes,
you're a little devil in disguise

Since you were a fetus in the womb
we have asked God a million why's
Will this little "Angel" always be doomed?

You have beat the odds and now face another
As we stand by and struggle, coping with the
feelings of uselessness

We cannot ... kiss it and make it better
or
put a band aid on it, and watch it heal
We have to leave you in destiny's hands
and pray for God's best laid plans

So in the morning as the team in blue ...come for you
We will watch as they take you in
to "put a Band-Aid on it"
Hoping for the best once again...and live for the moment
when I can call you ,"Devil or Angel"

For I named you Angel, but you sure have the spunk
of a devil in disguise

Kiss goodnight...and good luck
for when the morning does rise

THE PATH THAT LED TO ME

I lay awake most nights, drifting inside my own mind
Whispering ...words that have gone unsaid
to my angels that hover near

Sharing with them my feelings, of a man so kind and true
My lips, never breathing a word ... for, with them ..."no words"
are ever needed ... almost as if they were you

My body ... drinks in the warmth of your words
And passions flare, like colored thoughts ... bursting
in tiny electrifying, vibrant waves
Sending, fiery sensations .... scattering within the air

You have wandered a path ... no other has ever dared to tread
Overgrown with cob webs and thorns from yesterdays
So thick, was the clutter ... it would fill most people with dread

Standing steadfast ... you reached deep inside
And revealed all that I've tried to hide

You listened intently ...hearing the words that I didn't say
and
grasped the true meaning ...of those that I did

Relentlessly, you made me see how to
dust away those cob webs and condemn those thorns
Leaving me with the confidence ... that the sun does shine
come morn

You cared enough ... to not just "tell me like it is"
You gave me directions and steered me the right way

You cared enough ... to help me find the "me" that I left behind
And gave me back my courage ... that I long ago, buried inside

Your hand, I take in mine ... as I gaze up into your eyes
"Not many other words have I written, that have
meant as much as this ... but ... I thank you ...
for leading me back to the path
that led to me."

With you, I can spread my wings and fly free
For, you will soar with me, and embrace me
Not clip my wings and confine me

"You are truly special" and "I embrace you"
Giving you a piece of me, that has never been given before
The piece, that only you
were able to set free~
