THE END
Darkness seeps into my day
Pointing a sharp finger through my sunlit window
I try to run,
Hide
But the Darkness finds me
Slowly clenching its hands around my neck
I try to scream away this bad dream
But the clinging digits tighten, tighten
I gasp
Sucking the air through the last straw of life
No avail, I fail to catch my breath
Death appears at my door, quietly
Laughing
Icy pellets spray on my face
As He slowly erases the memory of...
Who am I?

THE HEAVENS OPENED UP
God made me an angel
Who was sent for me to love
In his eyes he placed the stars
In my heart he placed his love
His word penetrate my heart
His smile makes me come undone
For the heavens opened up
and sent me the perfect one
A beautiful vision
Instilled within my heart
His love holds me together
When my life is falling apart
We have a bond that cannot break
A love that cannot fall apart
He is apart of my soul
And co-creator of my heart
He is the gift I've always dreamed of
For someone in heaven heard my plea
For the heavens opened up
And entrusted one of their angels to me

BE CAREFUL AND WATCH ....
Watch your thoughts;
they become words.
Watch your words;
they become actions.
Watch your actions;
they become habits.
Watch your habits;
they become character.
Watch your character;
it becomes your destiny.

BROKEN
Sad sufferer of the desert wild,
your heart and soul have been defiled.
Exhausted and worn in weariness,
falling down in grief's excess.
No friends to stand by your side;
and all alone, you weeping cried.
Love has been banished from the start;
and thus, therefore, becomes your heart.
Love was never spoken from your tongue,
and a thousand songs are yet unsung.
Cast in fetters upon the floor,
you blame yourself forevermore.
You weep and sob your heart aloud,
and no one notices from the crowd.
Your eyes all tears, your soul aflame,
crying loud your Father's name.
"Oh God!" You cry in bewildered strain
as love's loss fills your foolish brain.
Bruised with shame. Alas! Alas!
Your heart is shattered like fragile glass.
And no one dares to touch the pieces.
Life's dark hope ever ceases.
How it hurts, the oppressive aching.
No one knows your heart is breaking.
You lived your life for you alone.
Now you are broken and on your own.
Love has soul-encircling chains for thee
that can never be broken, yet set you free.

LOVE
Love, they say is patient,
Love, they say is kind
It sees beyond the faults,
For love, they say, is blind.
Love does not diminish
Or rust and fade with years
But gains its strength from time
Laughter, joy and tears.
Love is God's own gift to us
A present from above
He gives us peace, He gives us joy,
But first he gives us love.

ALWAYS SAY I LOVE YOU
Brittany loved basketball Friends and parties too
And when it came to painting That's all she
wanted to do She painted everything she saw
Birds, flowers, the sky Some days she sat at her
window And painted everything that passed her by
But lately she'd been feeling woozy Her muscles
ached a lot And her parents got kind of worried
So they took her to the doc The doctor took a
couple of tests To see if everything was okay
Then the nurse came out with a look of sadness
And this is what she had to say; "I'm sorry but you've
got leukemia," "You've got about 3 months more."
Then Brittany got up and ran out of the room
And slammed the office door She ran down the
street screaming And cried her eyes out dry
And stayed up all night Wondering what it's like
to die Her parents held her tightly And said,
"We love you," "We'll make your last few months
the greatest," "We'll do anything for you."
So Brittany and her parents moved to Florida
To live by the sea Because Brittany loved the ocean
And when she dies, that's where she wanted to be
She spent her days painting And horseback
riding in by the bay But one day she met this guy
And his name was Jay They collected seashells
together And talked about all kinds of things
And then one day while walking He handed her a ring
It said, "I love you," Which brought tears to Brittany's
eyes And when he put it on her finger She began to
cry "I've got leukemia, and about a month more."
He said," No matter what, I love you,"
"And no matter what, you are the one I adore."
So they spent everyday together And swam in the
Atlantic all day But Brittany was getting weaker
And it was hard for her stay awake So one day
Brittany painted her picture And gave it to Jay
She said, "I want you to remember me,"
"Even when I leave this place." But one day while
they were walking And searching for seashells
in the sand Brittany collapsed and started to los
her breath And said to Jay, "Please hold my hand."
"I love you more than anyone," "You are my only true
love," "But now my time is up," "And I'll watch over
you from above," Then Brittany's body was lifeless
As she lay in Jay's arms And he sat there all day And
kept her safe from harm.
I hope this teaches you a lesson.
To tell someone you love them whenever you can.
Because maybe they'll be gone tomorrow.
And you won't be there to hold their hand.
Because love is everything to everybody.
Without it, the world would be dead.
So always tell someone you love them.
A parent, a lover, a friend.

AN UNLIKELY HERO
It's warm
I wish it would rain
The clouds have been teasing me.
The monsoons aren't what they used to be
My grandfather tells me
The monsoons were feared.
Weeks of non stop thunderstorms.
But time has calmed them.
Time has calmed my grandfather.
He smiles at me.
He can't see me through is right eye.
But his wisdom shows through.
His strength is in his hands.
His strength. His wisdom.
You couldn't tell it from his appearance,
Ragged. Torn.
He's a great man.
My hero.
In his hands you see the Marines.
You see the 20 years in a machine shop.
HIs brilliance is in his smile.
My love for him is great.
His love for my grandmother has no match.
It's seen in his tears for her.
When they go dancing.
His love is in his two-step.
And the tears that well up
Whenever he mentions her illness.
Welled up like the grey clouds.
I wish it would rain.

ETERNAL FRIENDSHIP
Somewhere upon this mortal Earth
Waits one whom you've been searching for
Their name you may not know
Yet you feel their spirit to your very core
And for however long you search
Time eternal keeps not your souls apart
Then when at last you two shall meet
A burning will grow within your heart
And then shall you know this truth
That upon this Earth there shall be found
One who will come to you and say
Our eternal friendship knows no mortal bounds
At last my friend I have found you
Our spirits and bodies have come together
Now a vow let's make this very moment
Our friendship will continue now and forever

MAY THE ANGELS KEEP YOU
May the angels keep you til morning.
May they guide you through the night.
May they comfort all your sorrows.
May they help you win the fight.
May they keep watch on your soul.
May they show you better ways.
May they guard you while you're sleeping.
May they see you through your days.
May they show you new hopes.
May they still your every doubt.
May they calm your every fear.
May they hear you when you shout.
May the angels keep you til morning.
More than this I cannot pray.
And if the angels ever fail you.
Then may God be there that day.

WHISPERING WINDS
As I sit by the window sill,
I ponder the endless memories of dreams.
The softness of a gleaming moon,
and the scent of a pearl candle, the two
companies among me on a winter night.
A shiny ring of pearls surrounds this gleaming moon.
My company, doesn't speak,
the whispers of the wind, fill my heart on a desolate
winter night.
Silent shadows in the distance,
and the reflection of a glistening ocean fills the
immaculate sky.
Alone on a winter night,
with just a moon.
Stillness of the shadows
seem to take the sky by the heart with soft comfort.
Somewhere inside this dream,
the whispers of the wind fill a hole.
The soft blanket of a deep blue cloud passes
overhead.
The sudden glimmers of a single star
somehow manage to take in the
whispers of the wind.
The dreams of dreamers allow this
brilliant star to shine through a moon of wonders.
This cool caressing wind blows
by this brilliant moon in hopes that
dreamers dreams will someday
come true.

IF TOMOROW NEVER COMES
If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, your soul to
keep.
If I knew it would be the last time that I see you walk out the
door, I would give you a hug and kiss and call you back for one more.
If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up
in praise, I would video tape each action and word, so I could play
them back day after day.
If I knew it would be the last time, I could spare an extra minute
or two to stop and say "I love you," instead of assuming, you would
KNOW I do.
If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your
day, well I'm sure you'll have so many more, so I can let just this
one slip away.
For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight, and
we always get a second chance to make everything right.
There will always be another day to say our "I love you's," And
certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do's?"
But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get, I'd like
to say how much I love you and I hope we never forget, Tomorrow is
not promised to anyone, young or old alike, and today may be the last
chance you get to hold your loved one tight ...
So if you're waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today? For if
tomorrow never comes, you'll surely regret the day, that you didn't
take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or a kiss and you were too
busy to grant someone, what turned out to be their one last wish.
So hold your loved ones close today, whisper in their ear, tell them
how much you love them and that you'll always hold them dear.
Take time to say "I'm sorry," "please forgive me," "thank you" or
"it's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today.

A PLACE FOR ME
There is a special place in life,
That needs my humble skill,
A certain job I'm meant to do,
Which no one else can fulfill.
The time will be demanding,
And the pay is not too good
And yet I wouldn't change it
for a moment if I could
There is a special place in life,
A goal I must attain,
A dream that I must follow,
Because I won't be back again.
There is a mark that I must leave,
However small it seems to be,
A legacy of love for those
Who follow after me
There is a special place in life,
That only I may share,
A little path that bears my name,
Awaiting me somewhere.
There is a hand that I must hold,
A word that I must say,
A smile that I must give
There are tears to blow away.
There is a special place in life
that I was meant to fill.
A sunny spot where flowers grow,
upon a windy hill.
There's always a tomorrow and the
best is yet to be,
And somewhere in this world,
I know there is a place for me.

Sometimes in life our halo slips
So what do we do then?
Just reach right up and straighten it,
And start all over again.

SECRET PATH
I have this secret path I take
no one knows about but me.
I go there sometimes to clear my mind
or set some old mem'ries free.
An over grown path of wildflowers
where their sweetness has a chance.
Where I am free to look inside of me
and alone to learn life's dance.
A garden grown from honesty
and blossoming from trust.
Built upon by my forbidden dreams
that started out as dust.
Solitude is such splendor
and this burnt out hope begins to flame
Leaving my soul pure and wild
There's no place quite the same.
I walk along the stony path
apart in quiet peace.
I fill my soul with clarity
and all bad thoughts shall cease.
This is my secret path
where all my dreams will be.
And patience waits for my return
to this place I've made for me.

STRANGER
I always look behind me
for I feel someone is there.
I feel his eyes all over me
but I can't see him anywhere.
I can smell the anger
that is locked inside his soul.
He had to feel the power
and so my life he stole.
I can taste the warmth and sweetness
of the blood he took from me
but the scars left on my spirit
cannot set me free.
I can feel the stinging touch
of all my pleading tears
And death lay down beside me
and brought me a lasting fear.
For now I feel I'm nothing
my shattered pieces on the floor.
Once I knew a trusted world
now, to life, I closed my door.
Darkness feels like evil now
and it is hard to find the light,
but even in life's uncertainty
I know I've won this fight.

LIFE IS WORTH LIVING
When you feel so alone and empty,
And life seems hopeless and vain,
Your problems are too much to handle,
And your teardrops are falling like rain. . .
You wish there was someone to help you,
But you don't want to bother your friends,
And you don't want to burden your family,
So you struggle with whatever life sends.
If you lift your eyes up toward Heaven
And you seek for God's goodness and grace,
He'll remove the sorrow you carry,
Send contentment and peace in its place.
He'll give you joy and assurance:
There's no limit to His giving,
When you seek God and you find Him,
Then your life will be worth living.

YOU STILL HAVE HOPE
If you can look at the sunset and smile,
then you still have hope.
If you can find beauty in the colors of
a small flower,
then you still have hope.
If you can find pleasure in the movement
of a butterfly,
then you still have hope.
If the smile of a child can still warm your heart,
then you still have hope.
If you can see the good in other people,
then you still have hope.
If the rain breaking on a roof top can still
lull you to sleep,
then you still have hope.
If the sight of a rainbow still makes you
stop and stare in wonder,
then you still have hope.
If the soft fur of a favored pet still feels
pleasant under your fingertips,
then you still have hope.
If you meet new people with a trace of
excitement and optimism,
then you still have hope.
If you give people the benefit of a doubt,
then you still have hope.
If you still offer your hand in friendship to
others that have touched your life,
then you still have hope.
If receiving an unexpected card or letter
still brings a pleasant surprise,
then you still have hope.
If the suffering of others still fills you with
pain and frustration,
then you still have hope.
If you refuse to let a friendship die,
or accept that it must end,
then you still have hope.
If you look forward to a time or place of
quiet and reflection,
then you still have hope.
If you still buy the ornaments, put up the
Christmas tree or cook the turkey,
then you still have hope.
If you still watch love stories or want the endings
to be happy,
then you still have hope.
If you can look to the past and smile,
then you still have hope.
If, when faced with the bad, when told
everything is futile, you can still look up and
end the conversation with the phrase...
"yeah, but .."
then you still have hope
Hope is such a marvelous thing.
It bends, it twists, it sometimes hides,
but rarely does it break.
It sustains us when nothing else can.
It gives us reason to continue and courage
to move ahead, when we tell ourselves we'd
rather give in.
Hope puts a smile on our face when the heart
cannot manage.
Hope puts our feet on the path when our eyes
cannot see it.
Hope moves us to act when our souls are confused
of the direction.
Hope is a wonderful thing,
something to be cherished and nurtured,
and something that will refresh us in return.
And it can be found in each of us,
and it can bring light into the darkest of places.
Never lose hope.

ONE
One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal.
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room.
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom.
One heart can know what's true.
One life can make the difference,
you see it's up to You!

I AM I
Do not change me
condemn me
nor put me down
Accept me for what I am
No...you need not agree with me
But accept me
for I am total in being
I have my faults
I have my guilt's
But that is who I am
Perfect I will never be
Allow me to be uninhibited
Do not pressure me into feeling
what I do not feel
Accept me when I am flying high
As I have accepted you when
you were flying high
Do not put me down...nor make
me feel unhappy about me
I am I
and I like being what I am
Me.

TWO FOR A DOLLAR
She left.
Nothing I said could stop her.
On my way to work,
In the window of the Super Pawn.
I saw my heart and sense.
She'd taken them both.
They were on sale.
