LOVE
Love, they say is patient,
Love, they say is kind
It sees beyond the faults,
For love, they say, is blind.
Love does not diminish
Or rust and fade with years
But gains its strength from time
Laughter, joy and tears.
Love is God's own gift to us
A present from above
He gives us peace, He gives us joy,
But first he gives us love.

SLOW DANCE
Have you ever watched kids
on a merry-go-round
Or listened to the rain
slapping the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight
Or gazed at the sun in the fading night?
You better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last
Do you run through each day on the fly
When you ask, "How are you?"
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done,
do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short, the music won't last
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow
And in your haste, not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
to call and say "Hi"?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away...
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

WHEN WE SHARE
When we share laughter,
There's twice the fun;
When we share success,
We surpass what we've done.
When we share problems,
There's half the pain;
When we share tears,
A rainbow follows rain.
When we share dreams,
They become more real;
When we share secrets,
It's our hearts we reveal.
If we share a smile,
Then our love shows;
If we share a hug,
Then our love grows.
If we share with someone
On whom we depend,
That person becomes
Family or friend.
And what draws us closer
And makes us all care,
Is not what we have,
But the things that we share.

TIME TO BELIEVE
To believe is to know that every day is a new beginning.
It is to trust that miracles happen,
and dreams really do come true.
To believe is to see angels dancing among the clouds,
To know the wonder of a stardust sky
and the wisdom of the man in the moon.
To believe is to know the value of a nurturing heart,
The innocence of a child's eyes
and the beauty of an aging hand,
for it is through their teachings we learn to love.
To believe is to find the strength
and courage that lies within us.
When it is time to pick up the pieces and begin again.
To believe is to know we are not alone,
That life is a gift and this is our time to cherish it.
To believe is to know that wonderful surprises
are just waiting to happen,
And all our hopes and dreams are within reach.
If only we believe.

WE CAN
We cannot hold a moonbeam in our hands,
We cannot string dew-pearls in shining strands,
Though far we reach the stars we cannot clasp,
And the glowing rainbow eludes our grasp.
But we can love and give freely from the heart,
kindness, tolerance, and joy we can impart,
And following God's ways we can possess
The Greatest of Treasures, True Happiness.

DON'T LOOK BACK
As you travel through life
there are always those times
when decisions just have to be made
when the choices are hard,
and solutions seem scarce
and the rain seems
to soak your parade!
There are some situations
where all you can do
is to simply let go and move on
gather courage together
and choose a direction
that carries you toward a new dawn.
So pack up your troubles
and take a step forward
the process of change can be tough
but think about all the excitement ahead
if you can be stalwart enough!
There could be adventures
you never imagined
just waiting around the next bend
and wishes and dreams
just about to come true
in ways you can't yet comprehend!
Perhaps you'll find friendships
that spring from new interests
as you challenge your status quo
and learn there are so many
options in life,
and so many ways you can grow.
Perhaps you'll go places
you never expected
and see things that you've never seen
or travel to fabulous,
faraway worlds
and wonderful spots in between!
Perhaps you'll find warmth
and affection and caring-
a "somebody special" who's there
to help you stayed centered
and listen with interest
to stories and feelings you share.
Perhaps you'll find comfort
in knowing your friends are
supportive of all that you do
and believe that whatever
decisions you make,
they'll be the right choices for you!
So keep putting one foot
in front of the other
and taking your life
day by day.

TRUE FRIENDS
Throughout life you meet many friends
Who seem to come and go
The true meaning of friendship
Theyll seem to never know
Until I met each one of you
I never knew true happiness
You bring a feeling inside
That words cannot express
Though we all have our bad times
We know well make it through
We can always go to each other
When we dont know what to do
Whether its a shoulder to cry on
Or just someone to talk to
No matter what the situation
Ill be there for you
Youre all such good friends to me
I hold you all so dear
Youre just the people
I love to have near
I guess what Im trying to say is
Thank you all very much
For showing me a brighter day
I love you all so much!

SURRENDER UNTO ME
Surrender unto me your dreams,
That I might hold them aloft in the sun,
Surrender unto me your fears,
That I might cast them aside,
And you may see the world in truest light.
Surrender unto me,
Your hopes and desires,
And I shall make them come true,
For mine is the power of love.
Surrender unto me your soul,
That I may gather its force and return it,
Glowing all the brighter,
With a new found inner light.
Surrender unto me your love,
That I may return it ten thousand times,
And surrender mine unto you,
Surrender unto me,
All that you are,
And I shall surrender the same unto you...

AIN'T IT FUNNY
I learned to laugh inside of my tears
I learned to be human, in my most wretched years
I learned to feel, when I wasn't being touched
I learned to give, when I didn't have much
I learned to be warm, when I was cold
Living real humbly, I learned to be bold
I learned to live, when I thought it better to die
I learned to laugh, when all I could do was cry
I learned from below, what it's like up above
While I was hated, I learned how to love
It is on the move that I learned how to rest
While at my worst, I learned my best
I learned about God, when it seemed I was damned
It is when I was lost, that I learned that I am
I learned to be rich, when I had no money
These things seem serious, but ain't it funny

HOW YOU LIVE
You don't have to tell how you live each day,
You don't have to say if you work or play
A tried, true barometer serves in the place
However you live, will show in your face.
The false and deceit that you bear in your heart
Will not stay inside where it first got a start
For sinew and blood are a thin veil of lace-
What you wear in your heart-you wear in your face
If your life is unselfish, if for others you live
For not what you get, but how much you can give
If you live close to God in His infinite grace-
You don't have to tell it, it shows in your face

I BELIEVE
I believe in miracles
and dreams that will come true.
I believe in tender moments
and friendship, through and through.
I believe in stardust
and moonbeams all aglow.
I believe there's magic
and more there than we know.
I believe in reaching out
and touching from the heart.
I believe that if we touch
a gift we can impart.
I believe that if you cry
your tears are not in vain.
And when you're sad and lonely,
others know your pain.
I believe that when we laugh
a sparkle starts to shine.
And I just know that spark will spread
from more hearts than just mine.
I believe that hidden
in the quiet of the night,
there are magic moths and gypsies,
a fairy and a sprite.
I believe that if you dance
the dances of your heart,
that greater happiness will find
a brand new way to start.
I believe the gifts you have
are there for you to share
And when you give then from the heart,
the whole world knows you care
I believe that if you give,
even just to one,
that gift will grow in magnitude
before the day is done.
I believe that comfort comes
from giving part of me.
And if I share with others,
there's more for all to see.
I believe that love is still
the greatest gift of all
and when it's given from the heart
then not one of us will fall.

DARE TO DREAM
Let nothing hold you back from
exploring your wildest fantasies,
wishes, and aspirations.
Don't be afraid to dream big
and to follow your dreams
wherever they may lead you.
Open your eyes to their beauty;
Open your mind to their magic;
open your heart to their possibilities.
Whether they are in color or in black and white,
Whether they are big or small,
easily attainable or almost impossible,
look to your dreams, and make them become reality.
Wishes and hopes are nothing
until you take the first step
towards making them something!
Because only by dreaming will you ever discover
who you are, what you want,
and what you can do.
Don't be afraid to take risks,
to become involved, to make a commitment.
Do whatever it takes to make
your dreams come true.
Always believe in miracles,
and always believe in you!

MY GET-UP AND GO HAS GOT UP AND WENT
How do I know that my youth is all spent?
My get-up and go has got-up and went
But in spite of it all I am able to grin
When I think of where my get-up has been!
Old age is golden, so I have heard said
Yet I sometimes wonder when I get out of bed
With my ears in a drawer, my teeth in a cup
My eyes on the table, until I wake up.
As sleep dims my eyes, I say to myself
Is there anything else I should have laid on the
shelf?
But I am happy to say as I close my door
My friends are the same, perhaps even more.
When I was young my slippers were red
I would kick my heels, right over my head.
As I grew older my slippers were blue
Still I could dance the whole evening through.
Now I am older, my slippers are black,
I walk to the store, and puff my way back!
The reason I know my youth is all spent,
My get-up and go has got-up and went
But I really don't mind when I think with a grin
Of all the grand places my get-up has been.
Since I have retired from life's competition
I busy myself with life's repetition.
I get up each morning and dust off my wits
Pick up the paper and read the Obits
If my name is missing,
I know I'm not dead.
So I eat a good breakfast
And go back to bed!
