Family Tree My Children A Mother's Love Dad Dear Grandma Grandpa |
Family Trees
We start out small inside of our mothers with care.
Then were born into the nice clean air.
Our mother and father are first to greet us.
Then grandma and grandpa show up to meet us.
As the family gathers and describe all our traits.
My genealogy journey becomes part of my fate.
As I grow and learn, I trace all the names.
Of those faces that love me and played all my games.
It's a family quest, a journey of mine.
It's the past I seek, cause it comforts my mind.
It's my family trees that are most interesting to me.
From the past to the present, we all come to be.

My Children
The Heavens are shining down on me
Because God has blessed me with you
You bring
Joy to my life
Laughter to my voice
A smile to my lips
A twinkle in my eye
and so much love to my heart
You really are my sunshine
You are my moon and stars
You are my heart and soul
You are my life's air
Without you
I could not exist
I could not be
You make me complete
You make me free...
I am free because you love me
Unconditionally!

A Mother's Love
A Mothers love
Will never end
Even when for her child
God does send
Memories of joy
That he has brought
Will be in your heart
And in your thoughts.
Cherish the good times
Erase the bad
It was a special love
That you had.
A certain thing
Or special place
Will remind you of the smile
Upon his face.
Remember his love
With all that you're feeling
And let that love
Promote your healing.
For, a Mothers love
Will never end
You'll just save it up
Till you meet again.

Dad
You were my inspiration
when I was very young,
You praised me when I needed praise
told me when I was wrong.
Thunderstorms and lightning too
held for me no fear,
I was safe from everything
when I could see you near.
All your love and guidance
made me what I am today,
And yet I still cannot believe
that you have gone away.
Listening to the songs you sang
brings a teardrop to my eye,
But you were happy singing them
so why do I always cry?
I often want to talk to you
like we did not long ago,
Yet even with these passing years
oh dad, I miss you so.

Dear Grandma
Poems by Lynn Barany
What is it like where you are?
Hope you're doing fine.
Have you been working in your garden
I hear it's sunny all the time.
Did you get your hair done,
bet it still isn't grey.
It's not the same without you,
I still miss you every day.
How is Grandpa doing?
Hope he's feeling well
And is he always laughing
About the funny jokes he tells.
You know I saw the river
Just this past May,
It's still as lovely as it was
Before you went away.
There is not a lot that's new here
I'm much older than before.
It would make me happy
If you could walk through my front door.
I'm not sure how to mail this
I don't have your postal code,
Or if the mailman goes so far
On his journey up the road.
If you wouldn't mind
Here's what I can do,
I'll send "In care" of heaven
to make sure it reaches you.
Grandpa
By Amy RIchter
I can see right through your black hole eyes.
I catch a glimpse of what once was.
They are warm, even though they're empty.
A familiarity is held within.
I can see right to your heart through them.
I want to tell you so badly about things that are going on.
But, even when I do, I'll never know if you understand.
You're hand reaches for me sometimes, and,
for just a minute, I feel complete again.
I can offer you no more than you can offer me,
so I'll just sit and be with you.
