As the wind blows the air around us
Your words travel far and wide
I see, hear and feel them
As I perform on life's stage, And within me the abide
Like a prophet, your prose has definitely come to pass
Sometimes immediately, even after a while
Master and student of knowledge you are
You leave my mind in exile
Far removed from the body I'm contained within
Entangled somewhere unfamiliar, with a new margin
You taught me that money doesn't mean a thing
And all I need is my love
Now, I know I've heard it before
But when you said it, 'twas like a message from above
You told me not to worship you but take heed to what you say
You said that what didn't make sense then would unravel, you said some day
Speak and I'll lay her and let the music rock me to a new awakening
Not to sleep because that's not the concept
Not to sleep because for many years I have slept
Unaffected by my surroundings and the struggles that came to pass
Ignorant to the manifestations deriving from being rated second class
Betrayed by life's unfairness but refusing to be torn
Going through the passage of denial that's the battle scars I've worn
But now I face reality
So bring it on
let the healing begin
I'm empowered now
I open my heart
And listen to you, the voice from within.
