Q: How many can play?
A: Two

Q: What do you need to play?
A:

Two BATTLE DECKS of 30 different Digi-Battle cards each - a total of 60 cards. (62 are provided in the Starter Set)

A game mat (provided in the Starter Set)

Two score counters (provided in the Starter Set)
Q: What is the basic premise of the game?
A: Players face each other across the game mat. They each select Digimon cards from their Battle Decks to do battle in the DUEL ZONE. DIGIMON POWER data on the cards will show, depending on the BATTLE TYPE of the opponent, who has more relative strength. As the Digimon Digivolve to more powerful forms in the DIGIVOLVE PHASE, and as they acquire different powers and identities with the help of POWER OPTION cards in the BATTLE PHASE, their relative strength will change. When both players have finished playing their Power Option cards, the Battle Phase is complete, and Digimon Power data on the cards will show who has won the Duel. The winner of the Duel is awarded.

Q: How do you score points?
A: The winner scores points as shown in the SCORE section at the bottom of the winning Digimon card, based on the DIGIVOLVE LEVEL (Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, Mega) of the defeated opponent.

Q: How do you win the game?
A: The first player to score 1,000 points wins the game

Q: Can I customize my Battle Deck?
A: Yes! Although you can start playing immediately with the cards in this Starter Set, as you improve your skills you'll want to customize your Battle Deck by adding different Digimon and Power Option cards. These customized Battle Decks can be composed of any 30 different cards (NO DUPLICATES). Additionally, there are BOOSTER SETS available that offer cards not included in the Starter Set. You will learn through experience to assemble Battle Decks based on different battle strategies. This keeps DIGIMON DIGI-BATTLE surprising, challenging, and fun!

Q: Can you change your Champion, Ultimate, or Mega Level Digimon during the Regroup phase?
A: No, you can only change your Rookie Level Digimon.

Q: When changing Rookie Digimon, what do I do with the Rookie I've replaced?
A: When you turn your new Rookie Digimon face up, your previous Rookie is sent Offline.

Q: Before deciding to Digivolve or pass during the Digivolve phase, can I look at my face-down next level Digimon?
A: Yes, you may check your next level Digimon to see whether Digivolving will give you an advantage in battle. However, keep in mind that if you decide not to Digivolve, you must Offline your next level Digimon.

Q: If you already passed on playing a Power Option card, can you play another Power Option card after your opponent has played one?
A: No. Once you pass on playing Power Option cards, you cannot play any more until the next Battle Phase.

Q: Is there a simple way for my younger brother or sister to play DIGIMON?
A: Yes! Younger players can choose to play Digimon STREET BATTLE:

Shuffle and place any number of Digimon cards (no Power Option cards) face down in a pile

Both players draw 5 cards from the pile (or draw until pile is gone)

Both players pick and lay down Digimon card of their choice

Compare Digimon powers to see who wins. When all the cards are gone, player who's won the most battles wins the game.
Q: I have a foil and non-foil of the same card! What's the difference? Can I play with both?
A: You can only play with one of them, since they are the same card, just one is foil and one isn't. The advantage of the foil cards is that their most powerful attack is 10 points stronger than their non-foil version!

Q: What is the purpose of the abilities like Swim, Dig, and Fly?
A: The abilities are native to the Digimon. Although they don't help you in play directly, there are cards that only affect Digimon with certain abilities. Some enhance these Digimon, like Waterproof on a Digimon with Swim... others can be used against these Digimon, like Pluck on a Digimon with Fly.

Q: Can you digivolve without a digivice into an ultimate or mega if you have the same DNA such as Pixie digimon?
A: You do not need a Digivice to Digivolve. Some Digimon Digivolve to the next level via DNA requirements. To do this, you must have one of the two Digimon as your Battle Zone Digimon. The other is played from your hand onto your power port during the Digivolve stage.

Q: I have a Gatomon. There is no Salomon card so how do I use it?
A: There are Gatomon cards in both Booster Series I and Booster Series II. The Booster Series I card can Digivolve from Tentomon, Gotsumon, or Osamamon. The Booster Series II card can Digivolve from Patamon, Gazimon, or Elecmon. Since neither card requires Salomon, there is no Salomon card yet.

Q: Where does it show the digimon's health? Is it the defend? or does their defend heal that much?
A: Digimon do not have "health" or "hit points" like other card games. Instead you compare the power of your attack to that of your opponent's attack. The one that has the higher attack wins (these values can be affected by Digimon types, Power Options, etc.) and the one that loses is reduced back to Rookie form.
