#001
Bulbasaur
Pokédex Info
Type 1: Grass
Type 2: Poison
Height: 2' 04"
Weight: 15.0 lb
It can go for days without eating a single
morsel. In the bulb on its back, it stores energy.
Catch it in:
Evolved from: - Evolves into:
Ivysaur (at level 16)
Locations: In Blue/Red, your are
able to receive Bulbasaur in the very beginning from Professor Oak. If you
have picked Charmander or Squirtle as your first Pokémon, you can
only receive Bulbasaur through trade or by beating Pokémon Stadium's
Gym Leader mode. In Yellow, you can get a free Bulbasaur in Cerulean
City.
This Pokémon naturally
learns the following techniques:
LV 01 - Tackle

LV 01 - Growl

LV 07 - Leech Seed
LV 13 - Vine Whip

LV 20 - Poison Powder

LV 27 - Razor Leaf
LV 34 - Growth

LV 41 - Sleep Powder

LV 48 - Solar Beam
Tips: Since it's one of the three
starting Pokemon in Blue/Red, Bulbasaur is the first Pokemon many gamers
will ever get to use. While it could be argued that Squirtle is much better
right off the bat, Bulbasaur also has its advantages. It's a dual type
Grass/Poison Pokemon and hence can be very strong against Water, Ground and
Rock Pokemon -- plus it defends well against Grass types. Sadly, many
of the advantages Bulbasaur has are eroded by even more weaknesses.
...which leads us to what types you should use when fighting Bulbasaur:

The fact that it's a dual type leaves Bulbasaur open to
all kinds of attacks. Fire, Ice, Flying, Bug, and Psychic Pokemon all perform
exceptionally well against Bulbasaur and its evolutions. While the damage
dealt by moves like Psychic isn't quite as high as when using it against
a pure Poison type, it usually does the trick and knocks out Bulbasaur in
one blow. The same holds true for Fire, Ice and Flying techniques. Just don't
use Water, Electric, Grass or Fighting Pokemon against it and you can't lose.

This Pokémon can
learn the following HMs and TMs:
TM 03 - Swords Dance

TM 06 - Toxic

TM 08 - Body Slam

TM 32 - Double Team

TM 09 - Take Down
TM 10 - Double Edge

TM 21 - Mega Drain

TM 22 - Solar Beam

TM 31 - Mimic

TM 32 - Double Team
TM 33 - Reflect

TM 34 - Bide

TM 44 - Rest

TM 50 - Substitute

HM 01 - Cut
Offense

Grass Attacks

Advantage:

Origin: Bulbasaur = bulb

to "strange seed".
