*Starting In The RPG*

When starting the RPG, each trainer begins with $3,000 and only ONE pokémon of their choice. The pokémon must be a basic pokémon (e.g. Charmander, Pidgey, Geodude), cannot be rare, or be any of the Legendary Birds/Cats, Mewtwo, Mew, Celebi, or any pokémon that you have made up.
Gold/Silver pokémon is also accepted in the RPG now.

Once you decide which pokémon you would like to begin with, post your starting pokémon in the club then wait for White_Rider_au, DireWolfPrimary, or Moon_Lite_Dragon to confirm or reject your request.

All pokémon know the attacks of their evolutionary stages (e.g. Caterpie can use attacks that only Butterfree will learn).

*Battling Other Trainers*

Once you have received your first pokémon, you can start battling other trainers. You can only battle with another trainers if there is an official referee in the same Conference (Yahoo! Messenger) you and the opponent are in. You must tell the referee what battle rules you will be battling with (choices are GB Rules, Stadium Rules, Anime Rules, or a mixture like Stadium/Anime for example), if both you and the opponent can use items, how many pokémon you can use each, and – only if you are playing with Anime Rules – which Stadium you are in (e.g. Ice Stadium, Fire Stadium, Grass Stadium).
The referee will then let you send out your pokémon and you say which attack you would like to use.
For Example: You have a Starmie and the opponent is using a Dutrio. If you want to use Swift, simply type “Swift” or if you want to be more involve, type “Starmie, use Swift attack now!”
If you wish to use an item that you have already BOUGHT from the Pokémart, then type “Potion” or whatever item it is that you have instead of an attack.

During the battle, the referee will say if the attacks have hit (or increase/decrease pokémons’ abilities) and will give out a HP Count (how many hit points your pokémon has left). Once a pokémon faints, it cannot be revived.

The referee has full control of the battle and what happens; if pokémon falls asleep or are frozen, if attacks hit or miss, and which trainer has won/loss. The battle can even end in draws.

Money received for a Win is $1,000, a Loss is $500, and a Draw is $750 each.
For a Gym battle, a Win is $2,000, for a Loss is $1,000, and $1,500 each for a Draw.
Elite Battles is $4,000 for a Win, $2,000 for a Loss, and $3,000 each for a Draw.

After the battle has finished, the referee posts the battle details in the club and both you and your opponent must post your status up as well (if you are unsure what your status is, examples can be viewed in the club).

*Evolving Your Pokémon*

Each time your pokémon is used in battle, it is given 1 experience point.
If a pokémon has only two stages (Rattata and Raticate), then your pokémon needs 7 experience points (be used in battle 7 times).
If a pokémon has three stages (Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise), then your pokémon only needs 5 experience points to evolve into the second stage and 5 more experience points to evolve into it’s last evolution. If it is a pokémon that needs to be traded or evolved with a stone, then once it gains 5 experience points and has evolved into its second stage, you can trade with a friend or use an Evolutionary Stone.
For pokémon that need Happiness to evolve like Chansey or Eevee, then it must gain at least 6 experience points during battle.

YOU MUST TELL THE REFEREE HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE POINTS YOUR POKÉMON HAS FOR IT TO EVOLVE.

*Trading*

To trade, simply post a message saying that you are swapping your pokémon with another trainer (with their approval) and trade back later once your pokémon has evolved.
Some pokémon may have to be traded with an item for it to evolve.
For Example: Scyther must have a Metal Coat attached when traded for it to be evolved into a Scizor.
You can buy the item from the Pokémart and post that you are trading the pokémon with that item so it can evolve successfully.

*Breeding*

Breeding pokémon might be introduced to the Club soon once it has been discussed among the Founders and the Council of 6.

*Capturing Pokémon*

If you want to capture more pokémon, typing stories is the main way of getting them. There may be a quiz once in a while with the reward of a pokémon or trainers can be rewarded pokémon for best stories.

When typing a story, it should be at least a full page long. There has to be good grammar and spelling, a reasonable amount of battle against the pokémon, description of what is happening during your adventure, a story line that tells how you found the pokémon (or how it found you), and also should be as realistic as possible.

The pokémon CANNOT just decided to join with you if you did not battle it.

If the pokémon you are trying to capture is either more rare, stronger, or evolved (or maybe all three e.g. Dragonite), then you must work harder in trying to capture it and type a longer story with the best that you can do.
You CANNOT try to capture any of the Legendary Birds/Cats, Mewtwo, Mew, Celebi, or any pokémon that you have made up.

After you have typed your story and posted it up in the club, you MUST WAIT for a Story Grader to respond to your story, telling you if you have captured the pokémon or not. They may also give you some advice in how to improve your stories.

If you have any trouble with capturing pokémon in stories or you would like some help in starting off, just ask White_Rider_au, DireWolfPrimary, Moon_Lite_Dragon, or any other trainer that has typed stories before to help you.

*Buying Items*

If you want to buy items to either evolve your pokémon or to use in battle, just check out the Club’s Pokémart for prices and post in the Club which items you would like to buy. You must have the money to get the items you want, otherwise White_Rider_au, DireWolfPrimary, or Moon_Lite_Dragon will decline your order.

You can also buy pokémon from the Pokémart, but only the ones up for sale. Check the Pokémart to see which pokémon you can buy.
