Celadon City Slot Tip

All of the slot machines have different odds, which change every
time. Play each machine 4 times, and if it hits 2 or more, then stick
with that one, because it's probably hot.

If the slow machine forces you really close to a 777 or Bar Bar Bar
it will probably give you one or the other soon.

Easy Catch

When you are catching a Pokemon, throw the Pokeball and press B
and down at the same time twice, then press down until you have
your Pokemon.

Kadabra

To catch Kadabra, play until you get to Pokemon tower (lavender
town). Then go to the left exit and follow the road until you come
to tall grass guarded by bushes and gates. Cut the bushes and and
go in. Keep fighting until you come across a Kadabra, then fight it
and catch it. This could take a while but it is well worth it.

Mewtwo

First you need to beat the Pokemon League. Then go to Cerlean City
and go past the 5 trainers. Take a left and you are in a grassy area.
Then go in the water (you need surf to get in the water) until you see land.
Get on that land and enter the dungeon. On the bottom floor you will see
Mewtwo. Use master ball to catch it.

Raichu

To Get Raichu, trade the Pikachu you started with a red/blue version
after It gets to be about Level 50-60. Then use a thunder stone on
the Pikachu you traded. After it evolves trade it back to the Pokemon
Yellow. Now you will have Raichu.

Mimic TM

Buy a Pokedoll in Celadon Mart, then fly to Saffron and talk to the
Copycat. She will give you the Mimic TM.

Gym leaders

To beat Brock, catch a caterpie or metapod in Viridian Forest and
evolve it into a Butterfree. Butterfree's confusion attack will work well.

To beat Misty, catch an Odish on route 24 (level 14 no less) and
raise it on route 25. Also raise your Pikachu. Odish's absorb attack
is super effective against Staru and Starmie as well as Pikachu's
Thundershock.

To beat Lt.Surge, catch a Diglett/Dugtrio in Diglett's Cave and make
sure it knows Dig, because it works great, but watch out for Riach Mega kick.

To beat Erica, evolve your Carmander into Charmeleon and she doesn't
stand much of a chance.

To beat Sabrina, use that Diglett you caught hopefully it is now a
Dugtrio, it's Dig is super effective.

To beat Koga, use Butterfree's Confusion and Sleepowder and watch
out for the powerful toxic attacks.

To beat Blain, evolve your Squirtle into a Blastoise and use water attacks.
As for the quiz: #1 Yes #2 No #3 No #4 No #5 Yes #6.

To beat Giovanni, use your Blastoise and blast his Pokemon away! But
watch out his Pokemon are tough.

Hidden coins

At the Game Corner there are secret coins lying around. You can get
these coins by walking around and pressing the A button.

Rare Candy

To get Rare Candy in Cerulean City, go to the house at the upper-left corner.
Go through and out the door on the other side. while there, keep pressing A
and eventually you will find one Rare Candy.

Get Bulbasaur

To get a level 10 Bulbasaur, go to Cerulean City, be sure to have kept
Pikachu extremely happy. Then head to Vermillion City and get the HM
CUT on the S.S. Anne. After that, head back to Cerulean City and go to
the house right next to the Pokemon Center. Talk to the lady and she
should give you a Bulbasaur!

Get Charmander

To get a level 10 Charmander, go to Cerulean City and go North of the
Nugget Bridge. Keep going North then go a little left and talk to
the guy in the closed area. Talk to him and he'll ask if you'll take
his Charmander. Say Yes, and you have him!

Get Squirtle

To get a Level 10 Squirtle, go to Vermillion City, and get on the
S.S. Anne. Get the HMCut from the captain, then teach it to a
Pokemon. Then cut down the bush blocking the gym. Go in and beat LT.
Surge. After that, head out and talk to Officer Jenny in the middle
of town. She will see your Thunder Badge and she'll give you a Squirtle!

Get Past Grumpy

When you go to Celadon city go to the mall thing and go to the top level
buy a fresh water from the machine on the left as soon as you walk in
press A and buy a fresh water. Leave and go to a road block. That officer
will take the water and you will be able to get through any roadblock.

Cut tip

Once you get the HM "cut", your Pokemon can cut down grassy areas.
Use "cut" and it will cut a two by two area. Wild Pokemon will not
attack you in the area you cut.

Experience tip

To easily gain experience, simply switch the Pokemon you want to
train with the top Pokemon on your list. When you go into battle the
Pokemon will pop out. You can then switch to another Pokemon. Once
you win the battle the beginning Pokemon and the fighting Pokemon
will both gain experience points.

Do more damage
\While fighting, select your desired attack. When it says you are going to
use that attack (eg. "Venusaur used Razor Leaf"), hold down the A button
until your opponent's life stops draining. If your timing was right you'll
do more damage than usual.

Floating Pikachu

First you have to go to Fushia city with Pikachu and go to the
Pokemon center. When you're by the center, jump off the hedge and
don't let Pikachu follow you. Wait until Pikachu starts walking in
place and then start walking away. If you do it right should see
Pikachu floating behind you

Farfetch'd

Farfetch'd can be found on Routes 12 and 13.

Magnemite

Magnemite can be found in grass before the rock tunnel entrance.

Arcticuno, Zapdos, and Moltres

When you have reached the mystical bird (Arcticuno, Zapdos, and Moltres), save the game before going into battle. This will allow you to restart if you knock them out or run away.

Pikachu surfing mini-game

Note: The Pokémon Stadium game on the Nintendo 64 is required for this trick. Successfully complete the tournament mode on Pokémon Stadium without using any rented Pokémon. Then, transfer Pikachu to the Pokemon: Yellow Edition cartridge to play the Pikachu surfing mini-game.

Note: This trick requires a Game Shark cartridge. Use the following code to unlock Surfing Pikachu without using Pokémon Stadium. Note: Pikachu must in the first position, then use one of the following codes:

013972D1 (To overwrite the first attack with Surf)
013973D1 (To overwrite the second attack with Surf)
013974D1 (To overwrite the third attack with Surf)
013975D1 (To overwrite the fourth attack with Surf)
This will not glitch the game if you set the switch to normal and turn it to on after the game starts. To play the mini-game, simply travel to the Surfing Guru south of Fuchia City and talk to him.

Another method is to trade Pikachu to a Red version of the game. Use the GameShark code on that version of the game to teach Pikachu Surf. Then, trade Pikachu back to the Yellow version. Travel to the Surfing Guru south of Fuchia City and talk to him.

Printing Pokemon

Your Pokemon can be printed at the Pokemon Club in Vermilion City.

Jesse and James locations
To find these team rocket members, go to these locations:

Mt. Moon (before you exit)
Celadon game corner (before you face Giovanni)
Pokemon tower, Lavender Town (before you rescue Mr. Fuji)
Sliph Co. (before facing Giovanni again, and before you get a Master Ball)
