but it really is my birth name. Hi and thank you for visiting. If you have visited my other pages then I'm sure that by now you have figured out that I was forced to retire from performing due the death of my husband. At that time I felt that I could never sing again but this heart that is so broken was made to sing and perhaps grief is an underlying part of so many great performances by so many of our wonderful singers in history. It's no secret that Billie Holiday, Judy Garland, Janis Joplin, etc. all had some type of sadness in their lives that came through in their songs. It is after all, the very definition of "The Blues" Those very talented women all unfortunately chose drugs along with their singing to help them cope. Unlike them, I have never done drugs and find that singing in itself is a pathway to another world or "The Escape Zone". This of course, is a comfort to people that I perform with because they don't have to worry that I'm not going to show or that I'll be too wasted to perform. Professionally Speaking I'm not known specifically as a "Country", "Jazz", "Blues" or other type of singer. I have 8 yrs of experience in performing many different genres. As well as the afore mentioned, I also perform Classic Rock, R&B, Pop, Swing, Big Band, etc. It's kind of like the old joke, I can sing badly in any style. I have never tried to do Rap or Raggae and in all honesty, I don't think I could. In those 8 yrs of performing, we often played 5 nights a week and sometimes doubles but I have a perfect attendance record and intend to keep it that way. Although known best as a singer, I feel that working the room and other PR work are actually my strongest points. I have placed my most recent photo (taken in 2007 ) on this page until I get my updated promo pictures.
