Evolving |
| At this point in the game, your main character should have evolved. Hinoarashi (Fire) evolves at Level 14. |

| Out of the Gym, after you've revitalised your Pokemon and bought some potion and antidote replenishments, head to the PokeCentre and speak to the guy standing at the counter. He'll present you with an egg. This is a mystery egg which will be yours to keep and hatch. |
|
| Next, go left to "KONTA HOUSE", there, a little boy will trade you Onix. |
|
Tower Of Madatsubomi |
| The Tower of Bellsprout is your next destination. |
|
| Fight your way to the top and you'll get "HM05" Flash. |
|
Back In Wakaba Town |
| Now go back to "WAKABA'S CAVE". |
|
| Equip your Pokemon with your newly acquired "HM05" Flash. |
|
| Then, access your Pokedex. |
|
| Select the Pokemon with which you have equipped with Flash. Use Flash and the cave will light up. |
|
|
| By around this time, the egg you have been carrying will hatch and there you have him, Togepy! |
|
Go Fishing |
| Now travel along "ROUTE 32" and enter the Pokemon Centre. In there is a fisherman. Talk to him and he'll give you a fishing rod. Take it |
|
| It'll be in your backpack. Equip yourself with it. |

| Do some fishing. |

Tsunagari no Doukutsu (Cave of Relention) |
| This cave takes you out to "ROUTE 33". Towards the end of the cave, don't forget to take the ladder down and get "WAZA 39" and "DEFFENDER". |

| "ROUTE 33" leads to "HIWADA TOWN" - Home of Gantetsu the maker of various types of Pokeballs. Visit him and he'll ask you to save the town's Slowpokes which are being held captive by Team Rocket. |
|
| "YADON no IDO" (Slowpoke's Well) entrance is now open for you to battle it out with Team Rocket. |
|
| You win! Gantetsu congratulates you, meets you back home and presents you with a Lure Ball. "YADON no IDO" which is now Slowpoke's Well was previously the den of Team Rocket 3 years ago. |
|
|
| The Gym Leader here is TSUKUSHI and your PokeOpponents - Kakuna, Metapod and Scyther. |
|
| Beat Tsukushi of the Bug Gym and you'll get HM 49 which is REZENZOKUGERI - a slash attack, the ability to use CUT and the ability to control Pokemon up to level 30. |
|
| You now also have the INSECT BADGE. |
|
Your Rival Again |
| As you proceed west after replenishing your health and potions, you'll meet with you rival again. Beat her and proceed left for a FarFetche'd. |
|
Get Cut |
| FarFetche'd will be in "UBAME no MOR" (UBAME'S FOREST). You'll meet it, it'll fly away again and again until it is cornered. |
|
| Once you've got him cornered, a police officer will give you HM 01 - CUT. Equip it, and use it to cut your way out of the forest. Then head north. |
|
| Explore the forest for WAZA 02, the go north-west and get WAZA12 at the house. |
