Successfully complete the game with each of the standard characters to unlock a new character or stage. Obtain all pictures in the first collection in the Museum to unlock this mode which allows you to see each characters' profile. To copy the save game file for Soul Calibur from the original VMU to another, boot the game with the save you want copied and then enter a battle with any character. When the battle begins pause and then swap the original VMU with the destination VMU and then quit out from the pause menu. Upon quitting a new save will be written to the same VMU slot with the original intact on the original VMU. This may work with many games as SEGA made VMU's hot-swappable. Obtain all pictures in the first collection in the Museum to unlock this mode which allows you to see each characters' kata. For extra stuff (like exhibition theater, Intro Edit Mode, more backrounds, third costumes, ect) you must play through Edge Master mode and unlock almost all of the art in the galleries. The last gallery has pictures that take 2000+ points each, but there doesnt seem to be any reward for doing so. As you unlock more art, more missions will be available. Completing new missions gives you more points, while completing an old mission gives you fewer and fewer points every time. Obtain all pictures in the second collection in the Museum to unlock this mode which allows you to play an alternative type of survival mode. After obtaining all 338 pictures from the Art Gallery, a new Black and White title screen appears, Beat every mission in, Mission Battle, and it will have a gold tint. To activate the Metal Mode, first earn the option via Mission Battle, then while selecting any of the characters simply hold R. You should now be covered in a shiny metal coating while fighting. When viewing the replay after a fight, press the B button to switch which character the game camera is focusing on. You can then pan around and zoom in or out on the character that just lost. Beat the game with Inferno to get a new title screen. Obtain all pictures in the third collection in the Museum to unlock this mode which allows you to edit the introduction sequence. To unlock Cervantes, first beat the game with all the regular characters. This will unlock secret characters. Then beat it with the secret characters (so basically beat it with All characters and Cervantes should be unlocked). First finish all the missions, including all the Extra Missions (they appear after you finish the two Chaos stages). On the mission select screen, go to the eastern most map. Move your pointer over the Korea area. When you pass over the secret mission, you will hear the "zip" noise you hear when you pass over any other mission; you will not be able to see it when you land on the location. There are 5 missions in this location. Each stage has a random combination of conditions from the previous missions. It doesn't matter who you use to beat the game, but for each different character you beat the game with, it will unlock a different character or stage. Hwang is unlocked first, then Yoshimitsu, then the raft stage (Yoshimitsu's), then Lizardman, then Siegfried, then Venice (Siegfried's stage), then Rock. I'm not sure of the order of characters beyond that, although if it follows the arcade sequence, it should be Seung Mina, a different stage, then Edge Master. On the left map in the upper right corner there is a mission and on the right map in the middle there is a mission.After finishing the game with the secret missions there will be another start picture. First finish all the missions, including all the Extra Missions (they appear after you finish the two Chaos stages). On the mission select screen, go to the western most map. Move your pointer over the middle of the upper right area of the screen (somewhere around Poland). When you pass over the secret mission, you will hear the "zip" noise you hear when you pass over any other mission; you will not be able to see it when you land on the location. There are 2 missions in this location. Each stage has a random combination of conditions from the previous missions. Obtain all pictures in the fourth collection in the Museum to unlock this mode which allows you to choose a different graphic for your character's weapon. Finish the game with Lizardman and you win a new travels. Successfully complete the game with all standard and bonus characters. Successfully complete the game, including the bonus stages, with every character. Successfully complete all the missions to unlock the hidden art in the museum and a third costume for Sophitia, Voldo, Siegfried, Maxi, and Xianghua by pressing Y + A while selecting one of those characters. Completing all mission battles will unlock various museum options such as exhibition theater, opening direction (change the introduction), and character profiles. Additionally, an "Extra Survival" mode will also be unlocked at the main screen. Begin a game in mission battle mode and fight until the "Metal Mode" option is unlocked. Then, hold R while selecting a fighter. Unlock Edge Master. Then at the character selection screen, hold R while selecting a character. Unlock Edge Master and successfully complete all mission battles. Then at the character selection screen, hold L while selecting a character for extra weapons. Unlock all the characters, stages, and extra bonuses that are awarded by playing the game in arcade mode and mission mode. Get every picture in the mission mode. When this is accomplished, return to the arcade mode, and select Xianghua and her third outfit by pressing Y + A. If desired, the game may be set to one round and the easy difficulty. Play through and complete the game with her. After the credits complete, a new soul (Inferno) will appear to the right of Edge Master. He randomly switches weapons like Edge Master, but has some moves of his own that can be done with any weapon. Successfully complete all missions in mission battle mode for a golden title screen. Unlock Inferno and all 338 pictures in the Art Gallery for a monochrome title screen. At the character selection screen, press Y to alternate all characters costumes. Press Y again to change all characters costumes back to their original. At the character selection screen, highlight Sophitia and continuously press one of the following buttons or combinations until she performs her pre-battle pose: X Y B X + B X + Y Y + B X + Y + B Normally, the replay camera will focus on the winner of the match. Press B to change the focus to the losing character. Win a match, then press X, Y, or B during the replay to select one of the victory poses. |
