There are certain tasks that when completed will unlock the secret characters in arcade mode, without entry of a cheat code. The tasks are listed in the Strategy Guide. If these characters are challenged and defeated, they may be selected by moving the cursor to where they would appear when their cheat code is entered. For example, for Roll highlight Megaman and press Right. This quick select method may be saved to the VMS. Unlock all the hidden character quick selects. Then the "Onslaught" option will appear in the game menu. Select your characters, then hold Weak Punch + Medium Punch + High Punch at the versus screen. Then when the match begins, the second character you chose will be the starting fighter. Enter "---" as a name to have the game change it to "SIN". Enter "AAA" as a name to have the game change it to "CAP". Enter "MMM" as a name to have the game change it to "MOT". After you win around a round, and computer announces your victory (example: "Spiderman Wins"), immediately press the "start" button, and you will be able to attack the opponent after they have been K.O.ed. If you are fast enough, you can even pull off a hyper-combo before the screen changes. This is a silly but fun bonus way to practice your speed. Pause the game, then hold Y and press X. During the a match do the following to have diffen form of Ryu at your disposal. (Level 1 super meter is needed.) -Evil Ryu: Half-circle back Fierce Punch -Ryu as Ken: Half-circle back Medium Punch -Turn Back: Half-circle back Quick Punch To fight against Roll, you must -never lose a character -use up all your partner stock -at least 2 Variable Cross finishes and 3 other type of finishes (hyper combo or dual-attack) -To fight Lillith, you have to kill the second person you fight (the guy u kill second) with a team switch move. In other words press fierce punch and fierce kick at the same time to finish your enemy. You must do this at least twice, and kill all the other players with REGULAR supers (no not team supers), and u must not lose a person in your team, until lvl 7! -To fight against orange hulk, kill at least 2 or 3 guys with TEAM UP SUPERS (half circle forwards + fierce punch + fierce kick), if that still doesn't work try killing everyone up to lvl 7 with TEAM UP SUPERS. You must not lose a person in your team.Orange hulk is faster (allowing him to do combos), but a bit weaker, his supers do the same damage though. Lillith- I think she's from dark stalkers or whatever it's called, she has 2 different supers, the quarter circle forwards and 2 kicks is the same, and her fireball is replaced with 3 hearts and it goes halfway. To fight against Shadow Lady, you must: -never lose a character -use up all your partner stock -get a First Attack every match and -use Variable Cross finishes to finish the round If you can beat any of the secret characters and save the data into your VMS, you can use that character without re-entering the code. Press Start to pause game, then Hold Y and press X. This will enable you to see the characters and backgrounds clearly without the tinted screen. Hold all three punch buttons at the Vs. screen to swap who starts match first (i.e. if you chose Ryu then Chun-Li, you would start the match with Chun-Li, and vice versa). Choose Zangief. Do a 1/2 circle back, quick kick, and he will flash and turn into his evil form. At the character selection screen, highlight Zangief, then press Left(x2), Down(x2), Right(x2), Up(x2), Down(x4), Left(x2), Up(x4), Right, Left, Down(x4), Right(x2), Up(x4), Left(x2), Down(x4), Right, Down. Then, Lilith will appear below War Machine. At the character selection screen, highlight Zangief, then press Left(x2), Down(x2), Right(x2), Down(x2), Left(x2), Up, Right, Up(x2), Right(x2). Then, Roll will appear to the right of Mega Man. At the character selection screen, highlight Zangief, then press Left(x2), Down(x2), Right(x2), Down(x2), Left(x2), Up(x4), Right(x2), Left(x2), Down(x4), Right(x2), Up(x2), Left(x2), Down(x2), Right(x2), Up(x5). Then, Gold War Machine will appear above Zangief. At the character selection screen, highlight Morrigan, then press Up, Right(x2), Down(x4), Left(x2), Up(x4), Right(x2), Left(x2), Down(x2), Right(x2), Down(x2), Left(x2), Up(x2), Right(x2), Up(x2), Left(x2), Down(x5). Then, Shadow Lady will appear below Gambit. At the character selection screen, highlight Chun-Li, then press Right, Down(x4), Left, Up(x4), Right(x2), Down(x2), Left(x2), Down(x2), Right(x2), Up(x4), Left(x2), Up. Then, Red Venom will appear above Chun Li. At the character selection screen, highlight Chun-Li, then press Right(x2), Down(x2), Left(x2), Right(x2), Down(x2), Left(x2), Up(x4), Down(x2), Right(x2), Up(x2), Down(x4), Up(x4), Left, Up. Then, Orange Hulk will appear above Ryu. Before the special partner selection screen appears, hold the following buttons for the corresponding special partner: Unknown Soldier: Hold Start + Weak Punch Lou: Hold Start + Medium Punch Arthur: Hold Start + Weak Punch + Medium Punch Saki: Hold Start + High Punch Ton-Pooh: Hold Start + Weak Punch + High Punch Devilot: Hold Start + Medium Punch Anita: Hold Start + Weak Punch + Medium Punch + High Punch Pure and Fur: Start + Weak Kick Michelle Heart: Hold Start + Weak Punch + Weak Kick Mighty Thor: Hold Start + Weak Kick + Medium Punch Cyclops: Hold Start + Weak Punch + Weak Kick + Medium Punch Magneto: Hold Start + Weak Kick + High Punch Storm: Hold Start + Weak Punch + Weak Kick + High Punch Jubilee: Hold Start + Weak Kick + Medium Punch + High Punch Rogue: Hold Start + Weak Punch + Weak Kick + Medium Punch + High Punch Psylocke: Hold Start + Medium Kick Juggernaut: Hold Start + Weak Punch + Medium Kick Iceman: Hold Start + Medium Punch + Medium Kick Colossus: Hold Start + Weak Punch + Medium Punch + Medium Kick US Agent: Hold Start + High Punch + Medium Kick Shadow: Hold Start + Weak Punch + Medium Kick + High Punch Sentinel: Hold Start + Medium Punch + Medium Kick + High Punch |
