Pokemon is pronounced PO-KAY-MON, or you can say it PO-KEH-MON like I do. Pokemon is the Japanese word for Pocket Monsters. In Japan, they say Pocket Monsters, so they say it in English, but in America, we say it in Japanese.
Pokemon is about a 10 year old boy named Ash Ketchum, who want to become the best Pokemon Trainer in the world. He encounters many battles and adventures on his way as he tries to beat his rival, Gary Oak, in the search for all 151 + Pokemon. With the help of his friends Misty, and Brock, he will most likely become the best Pokemon Trainer ever. Him and his friends must fend off the evil Team Rocket (Jesse, and James), who are trying to take his Pikachu because she is very powerful.
Pokemon also has its own video games, Pokemon Red, and Blue, Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Snap for N64, and more.
Pokemon was originated in Japan, so it is an anime series. Many people think that is was the first anime series to be on TV, but it is NOT. There were many before it on TV, such as Astroboy, Thundercats, Voltron, etc. |
