| So, you want to teach here, maybe? |
 |
| Well, this is how you start |
We employ only teachers who have a Bachelors of Education degree, a PGCE or a true equivalent. You must be qualified to teach mainstream schooling in a Western country.
You must be of native-speaker status; i.e. born, raised and schooled in a true native-speaking English country.
If you have a language teaching qualification as well, it helps; we don't necessarily require it though.
We have a contract, it requires a teacher to be here for a full academic year, that is one full calendar year.
We offer as a reward package a generous-by-local-standards salary, a housing allowance, an end-contract financial bonus, paid vacation leave and medical coverage.
We also have a guide book, aimed at informing prospective teachers of the general style of working and living here; if you wish to receive a copy of it by e-mail, then request it by contacting our e-mail address on this page.
Each teacher is assigned his or her own class, and he or she is then responsible for teaching the English part of the curiculum to that class. The class will also have it's own Thai teacher, who in turn is reponsible for teaching the Thai part of the curriculum. The two teachers are expected to work as a team, and teach the class according to the timetable that is already set out by the school's academic department. Each teacher is given a copy of the curriculum, which contains both the Thai and the English parts of it, written in English. This aids the teacher in undersdtanding completely the subject and lesson matter of all periods taught, whether it be by the Thai teacher or the English teacher. |
