| Turmoil has engulfed the Galactic Republic. The taxation of trade routes to outlying star systems is in dispute. The trade federation, once instituted by the Republic, has become a strong financial and military power on it's own. The peaceful planet Naboo refuses to join the Federation. As a result, the planet is isolated by a blockade of deadly battleships. On request of the Congress of the Republic, the Supreme Chancellor sends two Jedi Knights to Naboo, in a last-ditch attempt to settle to conflict... Anakin Skywalker is a hopeful 9-year-old boy. He knows nothing of his eventual fate as a Dark Lord in years to come. In this earlier venerable Jedi master, trying to teach the Jedi way to his apprentice as their world begins to unravel in political turmoil. The Phantom Menace will take audiences through extraordinary realms and andventures, from the desert planet of Tatooine to the galactic captial world of Coruscant, the green world of Naboo. The Jedi Master Yoda, the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO and the gangster Jabba the Hutt are along for the ride. The first chapter in the Star Wars saga follows young Anakin Skywalker's journey as he pursues his dreams and confronts his fears in the midst of a galaxy in crisis...
