In November 1988 Orchid of Siam commenced trading in Thailand as a firm dealing with translations, weddings in Thailand and arranging UK Visas for Thais. We still remain a family business with offices in Bangkok and the UK. With four directors including our founder, visa case workers, secretarial and support staff we have come a long way from our inception as a one man business but remain 'large enough to cope and small enough to care' for our clients as individuals. We are a team dedicated, motivated and persistent to see a case through from start to finish. Today our main business is in the following categories:

1. Assisting Thai, Laos and Cambodian nationals to a successful UK Visa application for visitors, students, civil partnerships, children, wives and fiancées. We are qualified by and registered with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner to provide immigration advice and we are full members of the UK Immigration Law Practitioner's Association.

We are fortunate that our UK based Thai consultant has personally been through the whole process of initially a tourist visa, then a wife visa, indefinite leave to remain and finally becoming a British Citizen so she can advise applicants from first hand experience.

Our English OISC registered consultant is also a full member of ILPA. He has 17 years experience of working in Thailand.

One of our part-time staff is a retired Embassy Visa Entry Clearance Manager who has previously worked in the British Embassy, Bangkok with over 30 years experience in the Civil Service.

We offer a full visa service with free, friendly, initial advice or visa assessment available 9am-6pm Monday-Friday by telephone, E-mail or through our online forms. In Thailand we assist the applicants in person with all matters concerned with their visa and our Bangkok staff will accompany all applicants to the visa application centre and for the TB test if one is required. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

As part of the Home Office ‘umbrella’ the OISC works in conjunction with the UK Border Agency and the British Embassies around the World to ensure the highest standards of applications. You will probably have noted that all visa and immigration related forms include a request for details of the OISC registration number of your adviser.

As at 1st October 2009 only one Thai national is registered with both the OISC and the UK Immigration Law Practitioners Association (ILPA) and she is one of our directors.

Our clients have included solicitors, barristers, doctors, airline pilots, Citizens Advice Bureau staff, millionaires and a whole range of people including supermarket employees, company directors, a TV producer and cleaners. Each visa client is given the direct mobile number of the director responsible for their case so that they can be contacted outside office hours if necessary.

2. Arranging legal marriage registrations for both Thai and British nationals in Thailand.

3. Certified translators of Thai, our Stamp of Authentication is accepted by the Home Office, the British Embassy in Bangkok and the Royal Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The director responsible for translations has passed the Home Office UK Border Agency examination in legal interpretations and acts as an interpreter for the Home Office, the Police, UK Border Agency, HM Customs and other Government departments as she is on the Home Office Central Interpreters Unit Panel as a Thai-English translator.

4. Assisting with Further Leave To Remain and Settlement applications and UK Citizenship (Naturalisation) applications.

5. Assisting EEA/EU nationals who are exercising their Treaty rights to live and/or work in the UK who wish their Thai spouse or family members to join them in the UK under the provisions of the Treaty of Rome and related legislation.

Being located in Surrey we are only about 30 minutes from London Waterloo, Victoria or London Bridge stations and very near the M25. The nearest landmark is Epsom Hospital and we are situated next to it on the Woodcote side. We welcome personal visitors by appointment.

Some pages on this site are for general information only and are of interest to anyone wishing to marry a Thai national or just wishing to learn more about Thailand.

Our Bangkok office works to the instructions of the immigration advisers based in the UK on all aspects of obtaining UK Visas for Thai nationals and they assist the Thai applicant at all stages of the UK Visa process, as everything is explained in Thai there are no misunderstandings and personal one to one service is guaranteed. Our UK office similarly helps the UK based sponsor.

We are now in our twenty first year of operation dealing with all types of visa applications and have conducted many problematic applications for UK visas.

Both in the UK and Thailand we have Thai speakers and translators to ensure that the Thai visa applicant understands everything in the Thai language and that the UK visa sponsor understands exactly what is happening at every stage of the application.

Our site is designed with you in mind and we hope you find it easy to navigate. We have attempted to answer the most commonly asked questions in the following pages however please feel free to E-mail us if you cannot find the information you want.

The page designed for Thais New to the UK contains information you may wish to consider before your partner arrives in the UK and also to try to assist with adjusting to a new and very different lifestyle.
