Afeni Shakur - Alice Faye Williams Birth Mother
Tupac's birth mother who Tupac was very close to and was very thankful to, as heard in "Dear Mama" from the album Me Against the World. She was a Black Panther Member involved in the famous Panther 21 incident where she and 20 others were convicted for allegedly plotting to blow up banks and department stores.
Billy Garland Birth Father
Tupac's birth father he did little to raise Tupac. He saw Tupac sporadically up until the age of 5 and didn't see him again until he saw Tupac in the movie Juice in 1992. He later Visited him in the Bellevue hospital when Tupac was shot in 1994. Tupac thought that his father was dead or didn't want to see him and Tupac thought he was dead when Tupac recorded "Dear Mama".
"No Love from my father cause the coward wasn't there, he passed away and I didn't cry, because my anger, wouldn't let me feel for a stranger, and even though they say I'm heartless, all along, I was looking for a father, he was gone."
He took Afeni to court for half of Tupac's estate after Tupac passed but was denied. It ended up in a settlement of $540,000 plus legal fees totaling just over $350,000.
Lumumba Abdul Shakur
Lamumba Abdul Shakur was Afeni's first husband. He was a Black Panther member and the lead defendant in the Panther 21 case where he and 20 others, including Afeni, were convicted for allegedly plotting to blow up banks and department stores. He was found dead in Louisiana several days before Mutulu was arrested. Mutulu suspected that Lumumba was murdered by someone (perhaps a police informant) who learned of Mutulu's whereabouts and decided to kill two birds with one stone.
Leggs Father Figure
Leggs was not related to Tupac but served as a father figure none the less. It is assumed that Legs was once connected to the legendary New York drug kingpin Nicky Barnes. Tupac stated that the thug in him came from Leggs. Legs was the person who introduced Afeni to crack, a drug she was haunted by for much of the '80s. After Legs was sent to prison for credit-card fraud in the mid-'80s, Afeni, tired of her struggles in New York, moved her family to Baltimore. She learned shortly after that Leggs had died of a crack-induced heart attack.
"That fucked me up," Tupac told me. "I couldn't even cry, man. I felt I needed a daddy to show me the ropes, and I didn't have one."
Mutulu Shakur - Jeral Wayne Williams Step-Father
He was Lumumba's adopted brother.
Mutulu Shakur was sentenced to 60 years in prison, for allegedly conspiring against the US government in 1986. He was arrested as the reputed mastermind of the 1981 Brinks robbery, in which two Nyack, New York policemen and a Brinks guard were killed. Mutulu Shakur maintains his innocence.
A life long activist in the MOVE organization he was a key organizer in the historic gang truce between Crips and Bloods in the Lompoc Penitentary.
Together, the step-father and son team drew up a "Code of Thug Life," which was a list of rules discouraging random violence among gangsta rappers.
He's involved in the Code Foundation, a non-profit organization co-founded by himself and Erica Ford along with Tupac. Contributions are tax-deductible and can be sent to:

A Black Panther Party member, Tupac's Godfather, Geronimo Pratt was recently released from prison after serving 27 years of a 25-to-life sentence for allegedly murdering an LA school teacher. He was released after evidence surfaced supporting the destruction of evidence which proved Geronimo was no where near the scene of the alleged crime. He also won a large sum of money as a result of the false imprisonment.
Sekyiwa Shakur - Set Half-Sister
Born in 1975 Seikiywa is Tupac half-sister. He and Sekyiwa lived with their mother Afeni in the Bronx and Harlem, in New York. She has two children.
Maurice Harding - Mopreme Step-Brother
Maurice Harding's mother and father are Sharan Harding and Mutulu Shakur. They divorced shortly after he was born and his father re-married with Afeni Shakur. Afeni already had a son and daughter, Tupac and Sekyiwa Shakur. This mad them step-brothers.
Maurice Harding, also known as Mopreme of Thuglife debuted on the song "Feels Good" by Tony! Toni! Toné! and later appeared in many songs with Tupac.

Assata Shakur - JoAnne Chesimard
Aunt
Tupac's aunt Assata Shakur, dubbed the "soul" of the Black Liberation Army, is arguably the most famous member of the Shakur Family. Currently living in Cuba. In a highly controversial case she was convicted of murder in a shoot-out on the New Jersey State Turnpike in 1973. An officer and Tupac's uncle, Zayd Shakur, were both killed. The third person in the vehicle, Sundiata Acoli, has served 20 years of her sentence and has been denied parole for another 20. Assata was shot in the back, taken to the hospital and tortured while questioned. She had a broken clavicle and a paralyzed arm. Despite the fact that forensic evidence showed that she had not fired a weapon, she was sentenced to life + 33 years in prison. Assata escaped from prison in 1979 and fled to Cuba where she is living now under a grant of asylum from the government of Fidel Castro.
There are currently campaigns to free Sundiata Acoli and prevent the US's attempt to extradite Assata from Cuba. You can find lots of information on her around the internet and several books have been written on her as well.
Zayd Shakur Uncle
In 1973, brother of Mutulu Shakur, Tupac's uncle Zayd Shakur, and aunt Assata Shakur, were traveling on a New Jersey turnpike when they were stopped by a trooper. He and trooper Werner Foerster were both killed in a shoot-out that followed.
