You start the game by setting the game's clock and saying if your a guy or girl. The Prof.
goes through the " This is the world of pokemon" speech and you state your name. The default name is Kin. You are teleported to your house and goto his lab. You will choose ethier:# 152 Chikorita (plant), #155 Hinoarashi (fire), or # 158 Waninoka (water). I would
take the Hinoarashi because he looks cool and the first 3 gyms aren't aganist you. Oak tells you to go to a Prof. in a cottage north to get your pokedex and pokeballs.
On the way to the second town you will see Pidgeys and #161 Otachi. When you get there heal your pokemon and head northeast. When you get there you will talk, talk, and talk some more. When your done head back to Pallet(?) and fight your rival(Gin). Your rival isn't that nice. He got his pokemon by stealing them! He will have the oppisite of your pokemon(like Red&Blue). He won't be hard to beat cause his pokemon won't know any of there specil attacks yet.
Finally you get to Oak and he sets you off on your journey. After you talk to him head to
the town you were in before. From there head northwest where you will notice the 2 kids that were having a battle are now gone. On the way you will see some familer pokemon from
Red&Blue. If you have gold, you will see Caterpies and Metipods. If you have Silver you will see Weedles and Kakunas. Once you can go the most north and west you will see a house that you can go through. Go through the house cause it leads to the first town with a gym.
The gym leaders name is Hayato.
Once you get there you should heal your pokemon. There will be a guy and he will give you a Togepi egg(If he isn't there read and scroll down to see how to solve a puzzle).
Before you go to some caves to solve a puzzle hit the gym in town. The leader will have a lv. 7 Pidgey and lv. 9 Pidgeoto(easy stuff).
Next head west. You will notice a tree that is blocking the way and shakes when you press on it. This is actully a pokemon but you can't fight it yet. Instead, head south and through a house. You will see 2 caves. Go through the north one. You will see a station where there is a puzzle. When you solve it, it will be a Kabuto. Remember that cause it will help you solve it. Once you solve it you will be transported to the second cave where
you have to fight a ghost pokemon with many forms but 1 pokedex entry. If you don't have the Togepi go get it.
After that go to the temple in the northwest town where there crazy about bellsprouts. Get
through it all and with the last guy and he'll give you HM05 or Flash.
When you get out of the cave you were transported to go east and go south. You will fight a bunch of trainers and several new pokemon you never saw. After that you enter a cave where you can fight Geodudes and Zubats. When you get out of the cave you'll find yourself
heading west to a new town. Before you can go to any buildings in the town you will have to beat Team Rocket and spread Slowpokes (why??) all over the town.
But to get past the guy near an entrance to a cave you will need to talk to a guy in a house in the northwestern part of town. He will make the guy leave. Go to the gym. The gym
learders name is Tsukushi(don't ask me how you prnounce it). She has a Metapod, Kakuna, and a Scyther. Pretty easy. Really easy for fire pokemon. After you beat her head west to a house and go through it and into a forest. To get through the forest you need HM01(cut). You get that by chasing a bird around(talk to the officer once you get him to the officer).
Once you get through the forest you'll go north a little past some trainers and grass to a
town like Celedon. It has a big shop and a ton of small little houses. The gym leade(whos name is Akane) has all normal pokemon and this wierd cow-like pokemon. Fighting pokemon will rip this gym up. You have to talk to the leader 2 times to get the badge. Before you go to the next part of town go to a building that is black. Talk to the girl that is to the most right and talk to her. She will ask you some questions. You have to answer them in this order: yes, yes, yes, yes, no, yes. After that she will give you the radio.
You now have to wake the tree. Go to a house in the northeast part of town. There will be
a green house with some girls. One of them will give you the item to wake the tree. Go to the tree(north and then east) and press(A) to it. It will ask a question. Respond yes(the first answer) and you will fight it. After you battle head northwest a little and you'll end up in the next town.
This town has a gym that specilzes in ghost pokemon. You have to travel a path that you can't see. The path goes: Right, Up, Left, Up, Right, and Up. He/she has a Gastly, 2 Haunters, and a Gengar. After you beat the leader(Matsuba)you have to go to a house with a man and 5 Eevee daughters. They ethier have a Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Efui, or a Buruakki. If you beat them all talk to the man. He will give you HM03 or surf. Now you can
head to the next gym.
Your going to want to west of the town and past the guard house. Next head south to the town on the coast. When you get there you want to go to the gym right? Wrong. No one is there except for that strange guy who gives out advice. The gym leader is in her lighthouse and won't come down until you have the 5 badge which is an island town. Now you
can get strenghth. A sailor in a hut in town is giving it away. Now you can move brown boulders.
To reach the island town head a littl west of the city and when you see 3 boulders you can't move head south. When you see a turn head west and you'll be in the island town. In the island town talk with all the people. One will trigger the leader of the coastle town you chat with you. Before you go you have to beat the gym leader who has fighting pokemon. Before you leave town talk with all the people. One will give you HM02 Fly. Another will activate the 6th gym leader to fight you.(Only after you've talked with the leader once.) Note: You need strength to get to her. |
