One page there was a warrent for Swartwout arrest for false imprisonment.

Jacobus Swartwout was brought to Amboy by Justices Peter Decker and John Herring and two constables; he has confessed to his part in abduction of Richard Gardner and in breaking open house of Thomas Covenhoven Feb 1, 1754.
Feb 1 1754. John Smyth To james Alexander inorms him that Jacobus Swartwout is in custody at Middlesex County jail, accused of rioting in Suxxes County where Richard Gardner was incarcerated in Goshen jail; presumes Sussex County constables happy to dispose of Swartwout.

Rachel Swartwout, daughter of Roeloff and Eva (Bradt) Swartwout. married Jacob Kip (1666-1753) Co-patentee 1688, with brother Hendrick of manor of Kipsburg, where Rhinebeck now stands. Lieuntenant Ulster County Militia 1700. They had a son Johannes. OK BIG TIME infomration on this family in this book!:o) To much to type.
