| The Mets who by the departure of John Olerud signing with the Seattle Mariners, have no firt baseman. Well not anymore, the Mets signed free agent Todd Zeile. He has only in his whole career has only played 76 games at 1st base. But Mets GM Steve Phillips says that the switch from 3rd base to 1st will be no problem for Todd. Zeile will wear #9, if ou remember that was Todd Hundley's number. Zeile won't be as good in the field as Olerud was, but he has a good bat. Phillips said it was no problem for Edgardo Alfonzo to move from 3rd base to 2nd base last season, when Mets acquired Robin Ventura from the Chicago White Sox, so Phillips dosen't think that that will be a problem for Todd.
