| The Mets release the talented card-player Bobby Bonilla. Bonilla was playing cards with Rickey Henderson in the clubhouse in Game 6 vs. the Braves in the NLCS. Bonilla said that if he didn't play regularly in the 2000 season, that there would be fireworks. Also in the dugout him and Bobby Valentine, Mets manager, had arguments. He had a $5.9 million salar, and Phillips let him go. Thank God, for it. He is a trouble-maker, and thye would had have to pay a guy that sits on the bench in the regualr season, bats .169, and in the playoffs is playing cards in the clubhouse. I thank Steve Phillips for doing this, I think that it would have been a waste of money and a waste of a roster spot and a waste of time with Bobby Bo. I'll keep you posted. |
