| On January 22, 2000 the Mets and Milwaukee Brewers completed a trade. The Mets traded away utility player, Luis Lopez , and they got in return from the Brewers, LHP Bill Pulsipher. Pulsipher was a former Met. Lopez if you recall had a fight on the bus with Re Ordonez and Rey had to get 6 stiches under his eye, well Re dosen't have to worry about him anymore. Pulsipher was one of the Mets top prospects, but then he got injured and on July 31, 1998 traded him to the Brewers for IF/OF Mike Kinkade. Lopez,29, batted .212 last year with the Mets last year, had only 2 homers and 13 RBI at 104-at-bats. This trade I thought was very good because next season somehting would have happened with him and Ordonez. He wants to be an everyday starter at SS. Rey is our starting SS, and everone likes that, no one wants Lopez there at SS everyday, they want Rey. And anyway if Pulsipher comes back 100% from his injury he may have a very good year. I'll keep you posted. |
