Liversedge have blasted a shot accross the bows of all
the other promotion contenders,ably assisted by hatrick
hero Toronczak from crosses supplied by Dundersdale
for the first after he ran through the Brigg defence to net,
O'Hara laid on the second cross,and Sweeney supplied
the third..
Meanwhile Hallam go top ahead of Brigg but had a shock
as opponents bottom club Harrogate Railway went a goal
up on 19 minutes through Davey. Green equalised from the
spot on 50 minutes,and Cley made it 2-1 to Hallam 3 minutes
later, however Harrogates Davey hit back to make it 2-2.
and it took a last minute effort from Lowe to give Hallam the
three points.
Fellow challangers Glasshoughton opened through Johnson
on 19 minutes,Rickers levelling on 32 minutes for Armthorpe,
but an 88th minute Hepworth effort sunk Armthorpe.
Andy Flounders netted a hatrick for Nth Ferriby,assisted by
Stead and Barnwell for a 5-0 win against Staveley,and Lee
bradley netted three for Ossett Albion against Thackley,
Calvert getting the other goal,whilst Sugden netted the away
side effort.
Garforth played a tough match at Denaby,who had keeper
Norton sent off on 4 minutes,Arkle scored the spot kick,and
then went 2-0 up through a Bray effort.United however fought
back with McMahon,a penalty,and Gray scoring only for
Holmes to hit a late Garforth winner.
In division one Goole drew against challangers Worsborough
Bridge to remain 1st & second Severn scoring for hosts Goole
and Hodgkinson for Bridge., whilst Pontefract Collieries did
well at Parkgate 2-2 with Hiscock and Blair netting comming
from behind twice,lowly Tadcaster scored three to take the
points against Borrowash Victoria,Watts,Duckworth, and Hills
the scorers.
Meanwhile Pontefract Collieries boss Kittrick is calling for
new rules concerning player transfers after without warning
keeper Leneghan moved to Harrogate Town,saying
"we had no communication from Town on this at all"
at present players can sign for more than one club and in
principle can choose which side to play for on the day.
Possible new signing for NCE League clubs are from
Bradford to Glasshoughton- Johnny Jones
Armthorpe Welfare to Nth ferriby Matie Flynn.
In the West Riding County Cup Tadcaster Albion are seeking
an awarded win against Yorkshire Amateurs who failed to
turn up last Tuesday 4th January for a cup tie.
Albion say that the FA and Amateur were informed of the new
date for the twice previously postponed tie by telephone
referee and assistants arrived,food was arranged,and the
spectators were in the ground,yet no opponents.
Yorkshire were apparently training on the night and claim
they had no knowledge of the match date.
The FA meets this week to decide.

January 16th News
Brigg returned to pole position in the league with a 1-0
win over Thackley,Carter the scorer,whilst Hallam dropped
points with a 2-2 draw against Selby,Oldfield and Collier
scoring for Town,Worsfold and Holmes hit back to ensure
at least a point for Hallam.Glover and Lawford scored the
2 goals for Liversedge in a win against Armthorpe Welfare.
Daveys third goal in two matches for Harrogate Railway
couldn't prevent a 2-1 defeat against Sheffield Godber &
Shipston on target for club.Sharpe on his debut for
Garforth scored a two minute own goal,made ammends later
a Garforth goal, and aided by Arkle,Bray,Baldwin, and
Stevenson Town won 5-1 against Buxton.
Gooles Severn scored two in their 4-1 win against Parkgate
in Division One,whilst Worsborough with Taylor scoring
drew with Winterton,and Hall Road won 4-0 against Tadcaster
goals from Barrass 2,Richards and Wainman secured the win.
Pontefract lost for the first time in 10 games loosing
2-1 at Louth United.
The west Riding FA meet with Yorkshire Amateur & Tadcaster
Albion in an effort to resolve the outstanding cup tie
in which Amateurs failed to appear.
Liversedge are giving a trial to Williamson this week,he
plays for Nostell in the West Yorkshire League,and Blackburn
are looking out on Sedge left winger Dave Thomas.

January 24th
Two out of three ain't bad !! refering to the FA Vase ties at the
weekend,where Ossett Albion lost 3-0 at Woodbridge Town of
the Eastern Counties League,and Eccleshill won 4-3 at South
Midland League London Colney,whilst Alfreton won at Conset
1-0.Albions score was a lot closer than on paper,after having
conceeded a first half penalty.The last 2 goals came in the 89th
and 90th minute to give a 3-0 scoreline.
Eccleshill travelled down on Friday for the game at London
Colney who are based outside St Albans.Paul Newsome opened
for United ,then a penalty and a disputed goal put Colney 2-1 up
until Cochrane crossed for Taylor to level.Early in the second half
Colney went 3-2 up,and Eccleshill came back again with Taylor
and Senior opening the homesters defence to allow Ward the
equaliser,and on 82 minutes Taylor banged in the winner toearn
Eccleshill a next round match at North West Counties Vauxhall.
Meanwhile Alfreton battled well in their match at Northern League
Consett and went through by a single goal to nil,Town scorer
Kerry on 65 minutes,Alfreton Town now face Mossley also of the
North west Counties League.
In the league Brigg Town with a 1-0 win at Denaby scorer Bartlett
clinching with a first half effort.Bogan put Arnold Town 1-0 up at
Liversedge early on,but a 15th minute equaliser from Toronczak
levelled.At the wrong end of the table Harrogate Railway went
2-0 up goals from Wright and Davey but fell to a Howard brace,
Paul Cygan, Andy Cygan and an own goal to loose 5-2 against
Selby Town. Two Humphries goals,and Amunlshi a solo effort
gave Brodsworth a 3-0 win aover Buxton.
In division one new Yorhshire Amateurs boss Phil Andrews the
ex Thackley reserve manager saw his side win 3-1 against
Parkgate,Little 2,and Andrews dooing the damage,after Dring
opened for Parkgate.Goole stay clear after a 0-0 with Louth
For Bridlington it was Birkinshaw and Murr who enabled them to
win 2-0 against Worsborough Bridge,Baxter scored the only
goal as Pontefract Collieries beat Tadcaster.

Liversedge move up to second in the table with a 3-1
win at Staveley Williamson with a first half brace set
things running and Toronczak nabbed the other,that all
after going 1 down on 2 minutes.
Oglefield opened the scoring for Selby against
Glasshoughton, Saunders equalised but the Selby winner
came on 45 minutes from Andy Cygan.Mark Smith was
the Armthorpe Welfare hero as his goal was enough to
beat Alfreton 1-0,whilst a 25th minute Bishop penalty
was enough for Brodsworth to beat Maltby Main.
With a few matches off their was no change at the top
of division one allthough Glapwell and Winterton did
win to maintain the pressure on the leaders.

for Jamie Riordan from Ossett Albion.
Garforth Town are targetting Pat McDaid from Harrogate
Town.
Liversedges Dave Thomas is being hunted by Blackburn
Rovers and hope to feild him in trial matches.
meanwhile Gilchrist Liversedges boss continues to
hope that Thackleys Jock sayer will transfer this week.
Thackley have obtained Dave Watts from Ossett Town,
and that under the noses of interested Sheffield.
Cawthorne looks set to leave Tadcaster Albion for
Glasshoughton Welfare this week.

February 7th
Selby took the lead against Nth ferriby an Oldfield goal,
however Trotter equalised before the break,then Barnwell
and Flounders sett about getting the Ferriby winners.
West opened the scoring for Hallam on 70 minutes,but a
Smith last minute strike levelled for Brodsworth,Clough
scored the only goal for Glasshoughton against Maltby,
whilst Ossett Albion took apart Garforth,with Gommershall
opening on 27 minutes,Hurst a long shot made it 2-0 in
the 49th minute,Sullivan an own goal, Adams and a lob
from Riordan sealed the 5-0 rout.Davy netted again for
Railway but couldn't stop a 4-1 defeat,whilst Buxton lost
4-2 to Armthorpe with Johnson 2,Curry, & Camm getting the
goals.
In Division One a first goal for Burdick saw Bridlington
win 1-0 against Glapwell.and Tadcaster with a Bradshaw
brace,and a Hick goal saw off a Hooley Worsborough goal.
Palmer and Burass netted for Hall Road but they still
lost to Louth United 3-2,whilst at Parkgate goals from
Kerr,Smith, & Cocking was not enough for unlucky Parkgate
who lost 4-3 against Mickleover Sportsa.Yorkshire Amateur
continued their excellent form with a 4-0 win against a
poor Rossington the scorers were Little a penalty, then
Beardshaw,Grant and Downes with a goal each

News Latest Sunday february 13th
Denaby United have this afternoon appointed a new manager
after Gary Gillatt left United by mutial consent.
The executive have appointed Peter Daniel formerly the
manager of Pontefract Collieries last season, and before
that North ferriby, and Winterton.
Peter took over at Pontefract when they had no points
after 13 matches, and allmost saved them from the drio.
He was a professional player at Wolverhampton Wanderers
Sunderland,Hull City and Lincoln City.
he meets the players this Wednesday.
Meanwhile to match news, where both league hopes crashed
out of the FA Vase,Alfreton Town loosing 1-0, and
Eccleshill United going out to a goal in each half by
man of the match Greg Blundell.United had chances the
best early in the second half when Taylor hit the post.
In the league the days suprise was at Harrogate Railway
as an 85th minute penalty from Edmunds took the points
against Ossett Albion,The Railway are just behind Buxton
at the bottom, as Buxton went down to Armthorpe Welfare
goals from Douglas and Camm.
At the top Liversedge moved up as Dyson 2, and Kenton
scored to beat Hallam 3-1 Hallam having Dodsworth
stretchered off with ligament damage.
In division one in form Yorkshire Amateurs beat Goole
Sheriden and Beardshaw scoring to defeat the leaders.
Second placed Winterton failed to capitalise on Gooles
defeat going down 2-1 to Parkgate,but Glapwell moved
ever closer with a 6-0 win against Tadcaster Albion.

February 19th Reports
It was two Dillon goals that gave Liversedge the
three points against promotion contenders Hallam
Carter Ward and Massingham netted the 3 goals
which gave leaders Brigg Town a 3-1 at Ossett
Albion, Bolland replying for the former champions.
Andy Flounders grabbed 3 goals in Nth Ferribys 5-2
win against Harrogate Railway,whilst Barnwell had
the other two goals,Wright, and Darvill scored
Railways goals.
Brodsworth MW left it late for their victory,
a Slater 83rd minute goal sealed the points
against Alfreton Town,whilst Johnson, & Curry
got the goals for Armthorpe welfare against a
poor Garforth Town side,Glasshoughton remain in
touch with the leaders as Rutherfords 81st minute
effort equalised a Cygan goal for Selby.
Archer scored a 14th minute goal for Arnold Town
at Sheffield but a Bryn Gunn own goal gave Club
a share of the points.
In Division One a 43rd minute goal from Severn earned
Goole the points in a promotion battle with Glapwell
Bells goal for Winterton moved them back into second
place, but Barrass equalised for Hall Road Rangers.
Dring,Reynolds,Smith, & \hoe were the scorers for
Parkgate against Rossington for who Collinson replied
Lee Harper was the Bridlington hero scoring a nine
minute treble against Yorkshire Amateurs,(their first
loss under new boss Phil Andrews) Gibson grabbed the
other, whilst Little 2, and Grant hit the Ammers goals.
McDonald scored the goal for Pontefract Collieries in
a 1-1 draw with Pickering.

February 21st
Goole with a win pulled further clear in the First
Division, but Glapwell put behind then Saturdays
loss to win and back to second place, against Louth
and Hatfield main respectivly.

Sheffield appear to have had confirmed their move
to the former Dronsfield United Coach & Horses
Ground, after a ground inspection by the NCE League
time will be allowed to get the ground up to the
required level,meanwhile grants are being sought.

February 28th
We start with the 3-0 Eccleshill win over near bottom
Buxton, Taylor 2 goals, and Sutcliffe the goal getters.
Flounders hit a goal in Nth Ferribys 4-0 win over
Brodsworth bringing his total to 27 goals with some
16 matches still to go.
The leadership of both divisions remains with little
alteration,just a brief mention however for Denaby
United whos new manager saw his side win 1-0 against
Nth Ferriby Utd at Tickhill last Wednesday.

March 6th
Whilst Brigg Town at the top were playing in the Lincs
Senior Cup, the likes of Liversedge and Nth Ferriby were
looking to close the gap on the top side, however the
Sedges match against Alfreton was postponed, but Nth
Ferribby managed a 2-1 win at contenders Glasshoughton
Annan opening after 24 minutes, Jackson equalised on
48 minutes, but Barnwell sealed the win with a pin-
point header later.
At the bottom Harrogate Railway beat Buxton 2-1, goals
from Edmunds a penalty after Davey had been fouled,
and Davey himself later on scored, allthough Buxton
pulled a goal back from a penalty Railway held out
for the precious points.Thackley woe continued with
a 3-1 defeat against Selby, Cillier 2, and Moyles for
Selby, Sugden for Thackley who have now gone 13 since
victory,Staveley still stay in the relegation fight
going down to a Bray goal at Garforth.
Denaby however have pulled clear with a 4-1 victory
against Maltby Main Sidebottom, Newey, Brannigan,
and Cotton the scorers, Smith on target for Main.
Shaw hit 2 for Eccleshill in their 2-1 win against
Brodsworth, Humphries scoring for Welfare.
The Sheffield derby saw Worsfold open for Hallam
then Sheffields Capper get sent off, but total
second half domination saw Shipston equalise for
Club on 67 minutes.
In Division One leaders Goole continued well with
a 4-0 win over Hatfield Main, O'Donnell 2, Slack,
and Clegg scoring, whilst second placed Glapwell
maintained their challange with a 1-0 over Yorks
Amateur,Worsborough Bridge continued to do well
with a 2-1 win over Pontefract, and Parkgate won
3-2 over Pickering Smith on 34 monutes opening
for Parkgate, Wilson equalising for Pickering,then
Smith again for Gate and Dring putting Gate 3-1 up,
Ward scored lat on for Pickering.
Tuesday sees denaby in the Sheffield & Hallamshire
senior Cup face Worksop Town, some 50 places above
them within the pyramid system, the boss Peter
Daniel says they will give it their best shot and
enjoy the experience.

March 12th
Its all hot at the top as Brigg won 1-0 against
Arnold Town, in the battle of the top Nth Ferriby
in second beat Liversedge 1-0 thanks to a Barnwell
22 minute goal from a freekick, Ferriby are the
only likely promotion possibility as Brigg did not
apply, and Liversedge failed on the changing room
size.
In other matches Brodsworth won 3-2 against the
Glasshoughton side ending their promotion hopes,
goals from Bishop, Smith and Guest giving Miners
a 3-0 lead before Stackand Jackson reduced the
deficit.Denaby United moved clear of relegation
with a Reed goal against Selby Town, but Garforth
continue to flounder as Smith and Johnson scored
Armthorpe Welfare and despite Sullivan effort
and Welfares Camm being sent off on 73 minutes they
sustained the effort for a 2-1 Armthorpe win.
Little change at the top of Division One where both
Goole and Glapwell won 3-2, at the bottom the battle
continues with points going well for the lower clubs
Yorkshire Amateur secured the days best win with a
5-1 win against Louth Smith 2, Thompson 2, and Dean
lashing the five goals.

March 19th
In the premier division North ferriby lost points in a
3-1 defeat at Alfreton,Flounders scoring the consilation
goal, whilst Brigg won 3-0 to give them a five point
cussion,third placed Liversedge draw 2-2 against
Brodsworth,Bishop opened for Miners,Dillon and Toronczak
put Sedge 2-1 up,before Miners snatched a late goal.
Brown got the important goal for Armthorpe against an
Arnold side,whilst Baxter scored for Selby in a 1-0
win.For Sheffield it was Cartilidge and Hawke who
netted the two goals in beating Thackley 2-1,meanwhile
a Dickinson brace and one from Howey gave Glasshoughton
a 3-1 win against Harrogate for who Davey scored.
Two goals from Amos saw Ossett Albion win 2-1 against
Eccleshill Shaw scored for United.
In division one Goole and Glapwell maintained their top
positions Edison scoring for Goole 1-0 winners over
Mickleover Sports, Driver and Needham goals couldn't
stop Glapwell winning 4-2 against Worsborough Bridge,
and a Lewis goal didn't stop Hatfield main winning a
rare victory against Hall Road Rangers.

March 28th
Championship favourites Nth ferriby suffered a further set
back to their hopes of promotion as big hearted Denaby
went a gained a draw. Nth Ferriby opened the scoring on
7 minutes when Norton punched into his own goal, then on
20 minutes, Newey equalised for United.denaby had further
chances to win with some excellent play but had to be
satisfied with a draw.Liversedge pulled up slightly
with goals from sayer and Dunderdale ensuring a strike
from Glasshoughton meant nothing, whilst leaders Brigg
failed again as Craig Watt scored for Hallam in a 1-0.
Cygan put Selby 1 up against Sheffield, but an 85th
minute effort from Godber saw the points shared.
Buxton gained a further point in their battle to avoid
relegation in a 0-0 with Alfreton ,the same score was
recorded at Maltby Main against Ossett Albion.
Goole ensured promotion with a 61st minute Severn goal
and with Glapwell winning it looks close to these two
going up, Yorkshire Amateurs Grant and Downes scored
in the 2-2 draw with Borrowash which just about ends
promotion hopes,Needham scored a brace for Worsborough
Bridge in a 2-1 against Hatfield Main for who Beaglehole
scored.

April 3rd
In the Premier division it gets tighter as the season goes
on, Brigg remain top, after a 1-1 draw but Nth Ferriby are
drawing closer thanks to a 1-0 win at Buxton,whilst
Liversedge lost ground with a 1-0 defeat at home to
Glasshoughton with Dickinson scoring to move Welfare
up to 4th,Johnson got the goal for Armthorpe against
Eccleshill in a 1-1 draw,meanwhile Ossett Albion won 3-1
against one time challangers Hallam, Bolland, Watts, and
Braime scoring Pearson replying for Hallam.
Denaby United under new manager Peter Daniel continue
their good form and this time Sutcliffe hit a brace,
whilst Newey nabbed one goal
