Part 24

It was time again for the guys to come on. The show was going great just
like it always did. I didn't understand why they needed so much practice,
when they always did so well. They had gotten all the way into their 60's,
70's, 80's thing, when Lonnie and Todd came to where us girls were sitting.
"Hey girls, come with us," Lonnie said to us.
"Where are we going?" Klaire asked.
"The guys want you backstage when they come off next time."
"Okay," I said in confusion.
We went to the gate to go backstage. The guys were just finishing "Crazy
for You". Four of the stagehands took five stools, and microphone stands
out to the stage. I didn't know why they were talking stools out, because
they never had stools on stage before.
"Lonnie, why do they have stools out on stage? They're not suppose to be
out there," I said.
"Just go out on stage."
We all went out onto the stage in a little confusion. We didn't know why
we were being told to go on the stage. The guys all came back out from
backstage with a single red rose in their hands.
"Right now we got something special for you, and for these five lovely
ladies here onstage," Justin said.
"We're going to introduce these girls to you," Joey said.
Amanda sat on the first stool, then Amaya, me, Klaire, and Nikole on the
stools besides the first one.
"This here is Amanda," Joey said pointing to Amanda and giving her the
rose.
"This is my beautiful Amaya Emelie Cooper," Chris said giving her the rose.
"This is Rachael, my beautiful fiancée," JC said as he gave me the rose.
"This is Klaire, my wonderful girlfriend," Justin said as boos came from
the audience. He gave Klaire the rose.
"And this is Nikole," Lance said giving Nikole her rose.
I knew my face was red, but I liked it that JC was introducing me as his
fiancée. It made me really happy, and sure about our relationship.
"Well I'm going first. Here's 'Love of a Lifetime' by Firehouse, for you,
Amanda," Joey said, "I guess the time is right for us to say
We'll take our time and live our lives together day by day.

Joey asked.
Amanda nodded, and let a single tear fall from her eye. Joey kissed her on
the cheek and stood besides her.

He begun to sing 'The Dance' by Garth Brooks since it was Nikole's and his
favorite song.

I think that Lance had a bit of a hard time singing Garth Brooks just
because of how low of a voice that he has.

I had to keep myself from laughing at Chris while he attempted to sing a Bryan Adams song. It was cute, and very sweet, though.

We can make love or not at all."The crowd didn't get totally into Justin's song, because of a couple things. He said hell, and he was saying basically how he just wanted to be with Klaire. I thought it was a good song for him to sing to her. She seemed to love it.Justin kissed Klaire on the cheek, "I love you, baby," he said."I love you too," Klaire said. It was all so cute. I knew it was my turn now, because I was the only one who hadn't got serenaded yet. I was getting use to being up on stage after the few times that JC and Klaire made me go out on the stage."Well, well, well, last but certainly not least, my sweet Rachael. I love you, Rachael, and you know you are my inspiration," JC said, and I knew which song he was going to sing to me.This wasn't the first time that he had serenaded me with this song, but he knew how much I loved it, and he also loved it.

JC leaned over and kissed me on the lips. I knew the fans would not be happy with me or with JC because of this. I heard booing from the audience.
I could tell Klaire was actually happy after the guys did this for us. She had one of the biggest smiles on her face that I had seen in a long time. I'm glad that Justin made her so happy, and that she made him so happy.

Part 25

Well, the show was over and we were on our way to Atlanta, Georgia. We were going to stay at the Westin Peachtree Plaza in town. I figured that it was a very nice place just by the name of it. It was going to take us a little over 3 hours to get there.
We arrived early in the morning in Atlanta at our hotel. Everyone on the bus was asleep, except for me. I wasn't really tired, so I stayed up and watched TV in the back room. I got up and walked through the bunks so that I could get out of the bus. I stopped at JC's bunk.
I kissed him on the lips, "sweetie, we're here. You can go and lay in a real bed now."
He rubbed his eyes and whispered, "thanks."
We all got into the hotel. A few hours had passed, we were all sleeping, and I was awakened by a phone call to the room.
"Hello?" I asked.
I just sat there listening to what the person on the other line was telling me.
"Oh my gosh, hold on a second, let me wake her up," I said setting the phone receiver down on the desk, "Amanda, wake up."
"What?" she mumbled rubbing her eyes.
"The phone is for you," I said handing her the phone.
"Hello?" she asked.I watched her sit there and listen to what the person was telling her. Tears soon started to fall from her eyes. I knew she was going to need someone to hug her when she got off of the phone. I got out of bed and walked over to Joey, "Joey, wake up," I said shaking him.
"What?"
"Get up, Amanda's going to need you when she gets off the phone. She's going to need all of us," I whispered.I went over to JC next, and woke him up too. Amanda got off the phone shortly after we were all awake. I was the first one to go over to her. Tears were still coming from her eyes. "Amanda, what's wrong?" Joey asked."Last night, my parents had went out to dinner. Well on their way home…" she paused, "the other guy fell asleep at the wheel. My parents died instantly," she started crying some more, "the funeral is going to be on Monday. Kerri is legally mine now…I'm here legal guardian. What am I going to do?"
I went over to the bed, and put my arms around her, and cried with her. I couldn't relate to how she was feeling, but I knew that she had to be feeling extremely horrible. Amanda just cried on my shoulder.
Joey and JC came over to the two of us and put their arms around us as well.
"How am I going to get Kerri?" she asked.
"I'll fly with you, and we'll get her tonight," I said.
"Well, then I'm going to," Joey said.
"Me too," JC said.
"You guys have a show tomorrow night. What happens if there is a bunch of stuff that we need to do?" I asked.
"Then we'll fly back before you guys. Just let us come. I don't want you to be alone right now. I can't even begin to imagine how horrible this must be," Joey said.
"Thank you," Amanda said, "all of you. You guys are so great to me. I couldn't ask for better friends."
"Anything we can do for you," I said.
"Thanks."
I went over to the other rooms to let the other guys know what happened. They were just as shocked to find out as I was. Klaire didn't really know how to take it. She's had so much happen in her life, that I figured that she would take it the best. Instead, she came back to my room with me.She walked up to Amanda and threw her arms around her, "They'll be saving you place, for when you get to Heaven," she said.I started to cry again, and so did Amanda and Klaire. We all three embraced in a hug. It was kind of sad that it took a tragedy to happen, but we were becoming closer, like sisters. I knew Amanda really needed us all right now, and I wasn't going to let her down.
"I don't understand why God would take them from me. They are basically all I have. Why did He take them from me, why now?"
"No one can explain, life and it's brevity, but there is a purpose for everything. God must have needed them. They're in a much better place now, Amanda," I said still crying.
"And I didn't need them?""You have us now. I promise that I'll always be here for you," I said."I will be too," Joey said putting his arms around her."I love all of you."
"I love you, I mean, we love you too," Joey said.
A smile came upon my face. Joey was falling in love with Amanda, and it was so beautiful to watch. I hoped that they would feel the love like JC and I had. One where nothing could ever taint it.At that moment we all just sat in silence, holding each other. No one spoke, and no one wanted to let go quite yet. It was perfect.

Part 26

It's hard to describe all of the emotion from two nights ago. I knew it would hurt Amanda a while to talk about it. They were finally going to be put to rest tomorrow. We had to take a plane to Camden as soon as the show ended tonight.
Kerri loved it that she got to be with her sister and the guys from 'N Sync, but I knew that it hurt her too. I don't think she really understood what happened. She knows they died, but I don't know if she understands why, and how.
Klaire and me were sitting in the guys' dressing room in Atlanta, Georgia at Lakewood Amphitheater. The rape subject was brought up again. It was another tough thing that would have to be dealt with as well.
"Rach, do you think I should tell Justin about what happened?" Klaire asked me.
"You know I do."
"I'm going to go find him then."
"Now?" I asked, surprised that she was so willing to tell him about what happened.
"Yep. There's no better time than the present."
I was shocked and a little amazed that Klaire was so open to telling Justin about her rape. I was very proud of her though.
Klaire walked out of the dressing room, and out to the stage, "Justin, come here. I need to talk to you."
"Right now, babe?" he asked.
"Please?"
"We're done anyway, J," JC said.
"Alright," Justin said walking off stage to Klaire.
He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her.
"Let's go somewhere where we can talk, babe," she said.
"The game room would work. No one will be in there," Justin said.
"Good."
Justin and Klaire walked down the hall to the game room. Justin walked in first and turned on the lights. Klaire followed behind him. They sat down on a greenish-yellow couch in the room.
"J, I need to tell you something."
"This I know. What is it?" he asked holding her hand.
"That night we were at Lance's house…"
"Yeah?"
"When I left, and you didn't know where I was…well I went to a park not far down the street. There were two guys there," she said with tears staring to fall from her eyes.
"What's wrong? What happened?" Justin asked in a very concerned voice.
"They raped me, J," she said crying.
"They did what?"
"I didn't want to tell you, cause I wasn't sure how you would take it."
"Why didn't you go to the police about this? Those guys could be in jail right now."
"I was scared. I felt dirty, and I didn't want anyone to know. I know I should have reported it, but I was scared to. Scared that they'd do something to me again, or that the police wouldn't believe me."
"They would have believed you. I know they would have."
"Hold me, please."
Justin put his arms around Klaire and just held her while they were sitting on the couch. He was a little hurt that she hadn't told her sooner. "I love you. I always will," Justin said out of nowhere. Klaire didn't know what to say. She replied with the one thing she knew too; "I love you too."
Chris walked into the room, hoping to play with his turntables. Klaire quickly let go of Justin.
"Oh. I'm sorry, guys, I didn't know anyone was in here," Chris said. "Ever heard of knocking?" Justin asked.
"Sorry, bro," he said walking over to his turntables. "Let's go eat," Justin said as he got up and offered his hand to Klaire.
"Okay."
"Klaire," I said running up to her and Justin.
"Hey, girl."
"Come here for a second."
Klaire let go of Justin's hand, "what?" she asked as she approached me.
"Did you tell him?"
"Yeah. Yeah, I did."
I gave her a hug; "I'm glad you did."
"Thanks," she said. "For what?"
"Being my best friend. I love you, babe."
"I love ya too," I said.
