Keeping Secrets ch. 10

I awoke feeling light kisses on my face. i opened my eyes to see jc's face right in front of me.
"rise and shine my sleeping beauty," he said. i slowly got up and let my eyes focus.
"are you done?" i asked.
"Yeah but now the guys and I have a meeting back at our studios with our manager" he said.
"can you take me back to the hotel?" i asked
"yeah sure," he said. i stuck out my hand for him to help me up but instead i pulled him down on top of me. we began kissing until i heard someone clear their throat. jc pulled away and looked in the direction of the door. It was joey and jen.
"um....we gotta get going if we're gonna make that meeting on time" joey said.
"i'm taking kelly back to the hotel and then i'll be there," jc said.
"you wont make it on time," joey said.
"i can take you back if you'd like," jen said to me.
"are you sure?" jc asked.
"yeah sure it's fine,' jen said. jc looked at me to make sure it was ok with me and i shook my head that it was.
"i dont want to get you in any more trouble" i said. Jc rolled off of me and stood up. i got up and picked up my purse and we walked out. jc and i split up he went with joey and i headed off with jen. we walked over to her car a black sebring convertible.
"this is a really nice car" i said as i sat down.
"thanks it was a present from joey for my 21st birthday" she said.
"wow thats a pretty expensive present" i said "how long have you guys been together?"
"well....we were neighbors growing up in new york and have been best friends for about 12 years...wow i didnt think it had been that long, but we've together for about 2 years now but our relationship has been has been an on and off type of thing." she said
"why?" i asked.
she gave a little laugh and said "
+because joey is the BIGGEST flirt and i know he's cheated on me before" she said
"I dont mean to be nosy but how do you know that he's cheated on you?" i asked
"well...its kind of a long story but it's 11:30 now so how about we get some lunch cause i'm hungry." she said. "plus I want to hear all the details about you and jc."
"ok sounds great," i said "i'm famished". so instead of going back to my hotel we went to a little italian restaurant in downtown orlando. we were seated right away and began to look over the menu. After we ordered jen and i began talking. First she wanted the goods on jc and I, so i told her everything from when we ran into each other to the plane to the restaurant and the bar.
"what happened when lindsey brought you back to the hotel?" she asked. i told her about the rabid fan and how jc had fallen asleep when i was in the bathroom. she looked a little disappointed that nothing had happened that we could talk about. then i told her about the shower and she smiled about that.
"I knew jc was a sly one," she said "but he hasn't had many girlfriends, and the ones that i've met were really bitchy!" she said "but you...you I like, you seem very genuine and nice." right then i felt like the lowest scum of the earth, but i smiled and said "thanks, i like you too. so now you have to spill about you and joey" i said.
"well...lets see...it started in high school. Joey and I were very close friends and he was very popular at school with the ladies and that bothered me cause i had a little crush on him too, but i was ok with us just being friends because we were kinda like friends with benefits." she said
"How so?" i asked "well we fooled around alot, but it never really became anything because he could never stay comitted to anyone for very long.
"What happened to you two when he joined the group?" i asked.
"Well for awhile I stayed in new york, but one day after work i got a call from joey askingh me to come down and visit him. and telling me how much he missed me and everything. so the next week i caught a plane down I met the rest of the guys and watched them practice and stuff and they were really good. i decided to stay in orlando so i moved in with joey and got a job. a little while later they got a record contract I was happy for them until joey said that they were going to stockholm, Sweden the next day to record.
I cried for a long time because i would be all alone in orlando. But joey asked me to go with him so i did. At first, we just stayed friends but as time went on we became closer. We just became a couple over time but i couldnt tell anybody because when they signed the contract it said that they were not allowed to admit that they had girlfriends. so i became the official wardrobe assistant or something like that so that i had a legit reason for being on tour with the guys." she said "how do you deal with all of it, like the fans and the rumors and stuff?" i asked
"it hasn't been easy there have been many hard times. joey is still a major flirt but i know that he loves me even though he strays a little sometimes." she said
"what do you mean strays a little?" i asked. "how do you know that?"
"i've caught him twice and i've heard of 4 others." she said. just then my cell phone rang. I picked it up and it was denise my editor. i excused myself from the table and walked across the room.
"what's up?" i asked.
"have you at least met the guys yet?" she asked
"yes and all their girlfriends, in fact im having lunch with one of them right now." i said "good and i hope you've started your article" she said
"i have" i lied.
"good then your deadline has been moved up its now due july 5th."
"what?! but today is the 29th of june, that only gives me a week" i said
"thats right, send it to me as soon as your done typing it up" she said and hung up.

"Shit!!"i said loudly. i walked back to the table and sat down.
"Is everything ok?" jen asked.
"Um...um...no...snif snif..my dog ralphie just died." i said thinking fast.
"oh im so sorry how?" she asked.
"my friend nikki let him out and he started running and he was hit by a car" i said. our food came just then so we were a little lost in thought and our food. finally i asked "How did you catch joey?"
"well the first time, he said that him and justin were going to catch a movie, but i had talked to lindsey earlier and she had said that justin and her were going over to his parents house for dinner that night, so i knew that he had lied to me. i had a little suspision about him so i followed him. He stopped at a strip club and went in. i stayed in the car to wait for him. after about 5 minutes i saw him walk out with some chic on his arm. She followed him right out to the car and got it. I followed them and they went to a hotel. Joey must have already had a key cause they went right in. i drove home crying, but the next morning i found him in the kitchen cooking me breakfast. When i confronted him he didnt deny it,but i knew he was sorry. I mean not everybody is faithful and i know i havent been all the time.
I glanced at my watch it was quarter till 2. i really needed to get started on article.
"I'm really sorry to cut this short but i forgot about my meeting with my boss so i have to get back to my hotel by 2.
"ok" she said. so we paid the bill and left. during the 5 minute drive to the hotel jen and i talked somemore "Im really glad you're here," she said "Joey and i are the party animals and from what i saw last night you like to party and by getting jc to actually lighten up you must be pretty good at it."
By then we had pulled up to the hotel.
"Thanks for lunch." i said.
"Sure we should do it again" she said "How much longer are you in town for?"
"a week" i replied "OK great i'll see you later" she said and pulled away.
i walked inside the hotel muttering to myself about how i was supposed to finish the article in just a week. i went up to the front desk to get any messages i might have gotten. As i flipped through them a man came up to the counter next to me and set a big flower arrangement next to him. these are for room kelly in room 307 he said. so i glanced at him and looked at the flowres they were beautiful. i signed for them and brought them up to my room. I opened the card and began to read it. As i read my smile grew wider and wider. It said:

Dear Kel,
As you read this I am probably sitting in a very dull meeting about charts ans statistics, but not really paying attention because i'm thinking about you. I have to say that the shower thing this morning was very unlike me, but it felt so right just to go in there and be with you.
You are a very special person and I am lucky to have met you. How about a picnic dinner on the beach tonight?
just you and me? I'll be at you hotel around 8. Until then be good! no fooling around until I get there!

p.s. whatever happened to your business trip?

At that last comment my smile faded. What am I going to tell him i asked myself. that im here doing a story on him and his group to get the low down dirty secrets on them. to publish in the worst tabloid paper ever?
yeah right i said outloud. I just had to remember that i was just there for the story and that I couldn't get too involved, although I knew that i was already in too deep and i was beginning to fall for him.

keeping secrets chapter 12

I had reached my room and went in. I sat the flowers down on my dresser and then sat down at my computer.
I opened a new document and began typing. I titled the article "Shattering the Pretty Boy Image" I started off explaining how i had ran into jc at the airport and rode with him to orlando where I met the rest of the
group at a bar where I was introduced to all of their girlfriends. Where they all proceeded to get drunk
even the ones under 21. I wrote that of the members tried to come up to my hotel room that night,but I wouldnt let him. And then the next day I went to their photo shootand their girlfriends were all trashing them because of how drunk they got last night and how much they were acting like idiots. And how much they really disliked them when they were drunk. At this point stopped. I felt bad for doing this because they were all such nice people, But my job depended on it so i continued. Next, I wrote about mine and jen's conversation.
I told all about Joey's failure to stay with one person and that he had been caught cheating 6 times by his current girlfriend. Ok so not all of this was true but hey it's not like a respectable paper its the national enquirer. I got paid to stretch the truth. I checked the clock, it said 4:30. So I decided to go work out a little before jc came. I pulled on my adidas track pants and a sports bra and headed downstairs. I did a little on the treadmills and the bikes and some other stuff asnd by the time i was done it had been an hour and a half. Around 6:15 I was back in my room showering. As the water flowed over my body i remembered the way his arms felt areound me. I knew that I was growing attached to him but i had to keep myself in check by reminding myself about the paper and how you cant get involved in the story but I had already broken that rule and I knew it. I just had to keep my feeling out of the way and get the story and then go back home. I wrapped the towel around myself and walked out into the room to find some clothes to wear. I decided on my blue jean overalls and a black baby tee. By the time I was done getting ready it was 7:30. I went over to the computer and saved my article as nsync onto my desktop
and shut off the computer. I couldn't very well have jc seeing it that would be a very bad thing.
I walked over to the bed and plopped down and turned on the tv and wait for jc to come. I flipped channels until I came to one of my favorite movies That Thing You Do on one of the movie channels. At about 8 i heard knocking on my door. I went to answer it and there was jc of course. I invited him in and he saw what i was watching
and inquired about it "So you like this movie?" he asked
"Yep it's one of my favorites" I said. he smiled "What?" I asked
"How long will you be in town for?" he asked
"about a week"I said
"great then you can come to one of our concerts" he said "Will you come?" he asked
"When is it?" i asked
"June 31st" he said
"sure I can make that" i said
"great! are you ready?" he asked
"Yeah lets go"i said. When we got to the jeep and got in he said
"now we have a little ride in front of us so go ahead and relax". he rested his hand on my thigh as
If it were the most normal thing in the world. I leaned my head back and closed my eyes for a little siesta.
About 45 minutes later i woke up just as we were pulling up to a huge house on the beach.
"wow" i said "Is this your house?"
"Oh i wish" he said "actually it's my manager johnny's. hes out of town for a week nad he asked me to take care of his dogs." we walked up to the house and jc opened the door for me. I stepped in and looked around.
This place looked so much bigger inside. Just then 2 black labs came running up to me. i leaned over to pet them and jc led me into the kitchen so he could feed the dogs. As the dogs ate jc showed me around.
This place was huge it had 10 rooms, 4 bathrooms, kitchen, game room, hot tub, pool, and a guest house.
I eyed the hot tub...hmmmmm that could be fun i thought to myself.

keeping secrets chapter 13

Jc grabbed a picnic basket and a blanket and we continued our walk. We made our way outside to the beach. we walked a little ways to the sand. We spread out the blanket and sat down. Jc had carried the basket which he set down and began unpacking.
he pulled out some peanut butter sandwiches and little cartons of milk.
"very romantic" i said.
"thanks i thought so" he said laughing "well i didnt have much time and i didnt think we would spend that much time on dinner"
"Why? what did you have in mind mr. chasez?" i asked smiling.
"well...a little this a little that" he said mischeviously. we ate and chatted about everything. He told me about life on the road and the tough times that they all go through and mmissing their family's and stuff like that.
"so what about you?" he asked. "whatever happened with that business trip?"
I took a big bite of my sandwhich and held up my finger as if to say hang on 1 second.
"Ok think" i told myself. "something good...not the truth. The truth shall set you free my ass!!" i thought to myself
just smile and pretend what you say is true. i reminded myself. "i was supposed to do a biography on someone but they
left town for a couple days." i said. "not too bad i guess. it's not a total lie, its kinda a biography." i thought to myself.
"anybody i might know?" he asked
"no" i said "its not a celebrity, im doing a book on familys." i said "where the hell did i just pull that from??" i silently yelled in my head.
"yeah i was supposed to interview my mom's, brother's, wife's, grandfather.
"thats a little complicated" he said.
"yeah just a little" i replied. 'yeah he went to go visit an old friend so i have to wait here until he gets back." i said.
"When is he coming back?" jc asked
"The first" i said.
"Oh so i have you to myself for two more days?" he asked
"darn huh? just what will you do with me?" i asked.
"i can think of a few things" he said smiling.
he pulled me in for a sweet little kiss and as we pulled away i jumped up and said "Hey lets go for a walk." so we put all the
stuff back in the basket and began our walk. I took off my shoes and socks and cuffed my pants and we walked in the surf.
While walking along i felt jc slip his hand in mine. i wanted to cry for using him like this for my story and stringing him along.
But on the outside i just smiled and kept walking hand in hand with him. All of a sudden i felt a sharp pain in my foot.
"Ow!!!!!!" i yelled. leaning on jc for support i looked at my foot. there was a little cut from a shell. In one swift movement he had picked me up so i was in his arms.
"Put me down!" i said laughing "Me lady is hurt i must tend to her" he said
im fine!!!!!!! let me down" i said
"are you sure?" he said as he began walking further into the water.
"Yes put me down" i said "you're sure now?" he asked walking a little deeper. the water had come up to his thighs.
"dont even think about it!!!!" i yelled finally catching on to what he was doing. i wrapped my arms
around his neck and yelled "JCCCC!!!!!!!! dont!!!!!!!!!"
"you said you wanted down" he said and dropped me into the water. I got soaked but I came up fighting. He had started running
when he dropped me but i caught up to him and jumped on his back and got him all wet.
"Ahhhhh" he yelled. I w hopped off him and began splashing him which in turn became a huge water fight. I was in mid-splash
when i heard "ok ok i give up!!!! truce?" He stuck out his hand and i went to grab it but instead i pushed him back and caught him off balance so he fell into the water.
"truce!" i called over my shoulder as i ran away. I made it halfway up the beach before i was tackled.
"oh and she's down!!" he said laughing. i rolled around a little trying to get out but i was stuck. I ended up with me
pinned on my back and jc sitting on my stomach holding my arms down.
"you are my prisoner now!!!!" he called out.
"and what will my punishment be?" i asked
"well i'll have to think about it but for now you have to do whatever i say" he said
"what do you wish first oh sexy master?" i asked coyly
"first we need to get you out of those wet clothes" he said
"What?!" i asked a little shocked that he had come right out and said that.
"AND...into a bathing suit. cause that hot tub is calling our names." ha said
"well i cant get up if you ass is sitting on me" i said laughing. he helped me up and we grabbed the blanket and the
basket and made our way into the house.
"oh shit! i just remembered i dont have my suit with me" i said. i set the stuff down on the table and followed jc.
"thats ok johnny keeps extra suits for guests in the pool house" he said
"oh ok" i said. he led me into the pool house and pointed out where the suits were. i picked a silver string bikini and out it on. :i guess it'll have to do" i said. i grabbed a towel and walked outside to the hot tub.
jc was already in so i dropped my towel on the deck and got in. i sat across from him and began to relax.
i closed my eyes and let the water massage my back. when i opened my eyes jc was staring at me.
"what?" i asked
"i like the suit you picked out" he said "its one of my favorites"
"how many women have you brought here that you know what the suits look like?" i asked.
"none actually" he said "Its just one of my favorite colors"
"oh" i said. it grew silent again but a little idea formed in my head. i sunk a little lower in the water so it was up to my chin.
"you know i dont really like this suit" i said untying it under water.
"why not?" he asked opening his eyes. i stayed low in the water and let my top float to the top of the waterfor jc to see.
"cause it's not very comfortable" i said smiling.
"well i wouldnt want you to be uncomfortable" he said smiling too. "if its not comfortable you ahould take it off" he said "too late" i said holding up the suit. i tossed my top and bottom out of the tub.
"how's yours feeling?" i asked sliding towards him.
"you know when i put them on they felt fine, but right now they feel a little small." ha said.
"hmmmmm.....what should we do about that?" i asked. i took the elastic band from his trunks and snapped it.
"you know what? i think these need to come off" he said.
"yeah i think so too" i replied. he slid out of them and threw them onto the deck too. he moved right next to me and brushed the hair away from my cheek and leaned in for a kiss. all of a sudden he hear the house alarm go off.....
