Chapter 37

Skyler slammed the phone down and jumped up.
Joey and Chris jumped and Sheena and Tina screamed.
"They found her!" Skyler yelled.
That's all it took to get them up and running to the car, everyone piled into Chris's car and they pulled out.
"Where are we going?" Chris asked.
"54th Street," Skyler answered.

"And you are going to stop us?" Lance asked.
Mandi was surprised at how scary his voice sounded. She'd never have imagined he could hurt someone. Or even be mean, for that matter.
"Yes, I am." Josh replied. It was still dark but you could see the evil smirk on his face and the craziness in his eyes.
"You think so?" Justin's voice asked from the doorway behind Josh.
"Yes, I do." Josh said, the smirk not leaving his face.
"You can't be serious." JC commented, standing up from his place beside Mandi.
"I am." His evil smile didn't disappear.
"You are badly out numbered." Mandi said.
"Not really." Josh laughed.
Just then Tyson and three other, very big, guys walked in behind Justin.
"So what?" Justin shrugged. "All muscle and no brains."
"Aren't we feeling confident?" Tyson said.
"Yeah, actually." Lance spoke up.
"And what reason do you have to feel confident?" one of the other guys asked.
"Because I just got off the phone with our friends and they are coming up here." Justin said.
"Oh really?" Josh asked, unfazed. "Then they can catch the fireworks." He gestured to the boxes of dynamite.
Justin, Lance and JC's jaws dropped and Mandi gasped.

As Chris pulled his car onto 54th street, Skyler jumped out, even thought it was still moving.
"Skyler! Are you crazy?" Tina yelled.
"Yes!" Skyler answered, running toward the warehouse.

Chapter 38

"Sky, it's me Justin," he said as soon as she answered.
"JUSTIN! the police won't help us I told you! why did you make me waste my time I could have been out looking for my best ....." Skyler said when she was finally cut off by Justin.
"Baby, calm down. We found Mandi," he said.
"You did?! Where? Is she okay? What did you guys do with Josh?" she asked all at once.
"Baby just get everyone together and drive to 54th street, then I'll explain everything," Justin explained.
"Okay bye," Skyler said hanging up before he could say anything.

"Wow," Mandi said after a long passionate kiss with JC. She looked at him and punched his arm.
"What was that for!?" JC said rubbing his arm.
"What took you so long to finally kiss me I've been waiting forever!" Mandi replied.
"Had to find the right time, besides you could have kissed me first!" JC replied.
"Do I gotta do everything," Mandi replied.
"What!? Mandi..." JC started when someone spoke up.
"Do you guys always fight!" Lance said. "Maybe we should get her untied and out of here before you two argue okay?"
"Okay," the both said in unison.
"I don't think so," Josh said walking into the room.
Chapter 39

Skyler slammed the phone down and jumped up.

"They found her!" Skyler yelled.

Chapter 40

"Why the hell are you doing this!?" Mandi yelled with frustration.
"Cause, I can," Josh replied with no emotion.
"You did all this to kill me?" Mandi asked trying to look him in the eye.
"Will you stop asking so many questions!" Josh yelled back then holding his head.
"Just tell me why you kidnapped me!" Mandi yelled back.
"Because, I love you. I already told you that. I planned for us to leave the country and go somewhere far away to live our lives, but your little friends had to come and ruin everything." He replied. "Tyson get everything ready"
"Are you some kind of sick, mental patient?" JC asked, "'Cause your totally messed up in the head."
Josh turned and faced him. He stared at JC for a minute then punched JC unexpectedly. JC fell to the ground in pain.
"JC!" Mandi cried with concern.
"You come here." Lance and Justin looked at each other not knowing with guy Josh was talking too.
"Pretty boy," Josh said. They still stood there.
"The blonde one," Josh said, then realized they both were blonde. "The curly haired one."
Justin walked up to Josh.
"Go and help Tyson," Josh said.
"Mandi?" Skyler said walking in the room not realizing Josh was in there.
"SKYLER!" Mandi said happy to see her best friend.
"Sky, what are you doing here?" Justin asked, knowing she might get hurt.
Skyler realized what was going on and her mouth dropped.

"Sheena get back here," Chris said grabbing her arm.
"You can't go in there," Joey added.
"But they need my help," Sheena replied.
"You can't help them, the cops are on there way to help," Chris said.
"Cops? They didn't help last time!" Tina screamed.

Chapter 41

"Calm down!" Chris told Tina.
"Calm down? You want me to calm down?" she asked incredulously.
"Yes!" Chris said.
"No!" she answered.
"Yes!" Chris said again.
"Make me!" Tina said, getting angry.
"OK, I will!" he said, taking her in his arms and kissing her.
Joey rolled his eyes.
"I'm going in there!" Sheena declared, running into the warehouse.
"Sheena!" Joey yelled, running in after her.
"Where'd everybody go?" Tina asked Chris.
He laughed and grabbed her arm. "Come on!"

"You are crazy!" Mandi said, wiggling her wrists, trying to get the rope untied. When it came off, she bent down to where JC was sitting. He hadn't said anything since he had been punched, and he looked like he was going to blow up any second.
"I'm not crazy!" Josh yelled. He pointed at Justin. "I told you to help Tyson!"
Justin shook his head. "There is just one little problem with that."
"And that would be...?" Josh asked, clearly getting more angry by the second.
"I don't want to." Justin said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"You are too good for the fireworks," Josh said, surprising everyone with a huge smile. "You can go first." One of a the guys that had been standing behind him pulled out a gun.
"NO!" Skyler yelled suddenly.
"Shut up!" Josh said, pushing her down beside Mandi and JC.
Mandi gave her a quick hug and gave Josh a look of pure hatred.
Josh said nothing and appeared unfazed. He turned back to Justin.
"Are you ready?" he taunted.
Mandi almost screamed when JC jumped up suddenly and punched Josh once in the stomach and then in the jaw.
For a split second, she was afraid JC was going to kill him.

Chapter 42

"MANDI GET SKYLER AND GET OUT OF HERE!" JC yelled at her while him and the rest of the guys were fighting with Josh, Tyson and two other guys.
Mandi looked at him questioningly, not wanting to leave afraid she might never see him again, "But J.C....."
"Mandi just do it!" JC said.
Mandi listened to him, and she got Skyler and slowly sneaked out of the warehouse where she saw Joey and Sheena on there way in.
"Are you okay?" Sheena asked.
"Yeah," Mandi replied.
"What about you?" Joey asked Skyler.
"Sky?" Mandi asked when she didn't answer.
"Justin's still in there," Skyler cried.
"The police are on there way here," Chris said coming up behind them. "All we can do is wait if we go in we'll make things worse."

Lance was trying to knock one of the big quiet guys in the head when someone came behind him and hit him first knocking him out.
"Everybody freeze now," Josh said pulling out a gun.
JC thought he could pull the gun away from Josh faster than Josh could shoot the gun, so he ran towards Josh, and Josh pulled the trigger. The bullet hit JC in the shoulder.

Chapter 43

"Oh my God!" Mandi yelled, hearing the gun shot.
Skyler broke down crying. "God, please don't let that be Justin.." she prayed.
"Or JC.." Mandi added, turning and preparing to run into the building.
Joey and Chris stopped her.
"Let go of me!" she yelled, trying hard not to cry.
"Mandi, you can't go in there... Or you might be next.." Joey said.
"You are a dumb guy, Joey!" Chris yelled at him.
"Oh, God!!" Mandi whispered. "The dynamite! Oh, no! It'll go off... They'll all die.."
That didn't help Skyler at all. She just cried harder. Mandi took one glance at her and couldn't look at her.
She was on her knees with her head in her hands crying and saying, "Don't let that have been Justin," over and over.
Mandi's tears began then. She pushed Chris and Joey away and ran into the warehouse.

"Oh, God.." JC said, holding his shoulder.
"Jace, man, are you ok?" Justin asked.
"There's the stupid question of the year." Lance said. He'd woken up at the sound of the gunshot and he went to look at JC's shoulder.
Suddenly Mandi came running in the room. "Oh my God, JC!" she said, and it took her all of two seconds to cross the room and be at his side. "Oh my God." she repeated.
"Hey, Sweetie.." JC said, trying to smile.
Justin looked up at Josh.
He was still holding the gun and hadn't moved. He looked at the gun for a minute, as if he couldn't believe he'd shot someone. The he laughed.

Chapter 44

"Maybe now you'll take me serious," Josh said. "Mandi get over here now!"
At first Mandi didn't move, then she decided she'd better before she got Josh madder, so she slowly approached him.
"Why did you run off?" Josh asked her putting his hands through her hair.
"Josh stop it," Mandi said moving away.
"Why don't you understand? I love you!" Josh yelled.
"I really don't care 'cause I don't love you," Mandi replied.
Josh got really angry by what she had said, he stared at her sincerely for a minute before he slapped her with his gun, causing her to fall to the floor in pain.
"Mandi," JC said going to her side, she cried not saying a word.
"Everyone get in that room now!" Josh yelled.
Everyone slowly made there way to the little room and turned around to see Josh locking the door.
"I hope you all have fun with the fireworks!" he said with an evil smile. He then turned back to Tyson and the rest of the guys. "Let's go now, before the place explodes," he led them to the front just as cops were about to walk in.
"Freeze!" a cop said.
Chapter 45

JC pulled Mandi close to him as she cried. Everytime her shoulders shook or a tear streamed down her face his heart broke. He rubbed her back, offering the little comfort he could give her.
"I'm sorry for not telling you," Mandi whispered in his ear. "I should have told you."
"Shh..." JC whispered, pulling her into his lap. In her ear, as quietly as he could, he whispered, "I love you, Mandi."
Mandi put her arms around his neck and hugged him. "I love you, too."
He knew that everyone was watching them, but he didn't care. He leaned down and kissed her passionately.

"What's the problem officer?" Tyson asked, turning to look at one of the cops.
"We were told there was either a hostage situation taking place in this building or a bomb threat." he answered, lowering his gun a little.
"No, it must have been a prank call," Tyson answered with a smile.
"I see," the other, much older, officer said. "Do you boys own this warehouse."
"Yes sir, we do," Tyson answered.
"Can you show me some kind of ownership proof?" the younger officer asked.
"Sure," Tyson said with another smile. He reached in his back pocket and took out his wallet. He pulled out a few pink slips of paper and handed them to the officer.
He overlooked them then handed them back to Tyson. "Good. Then you won't mind us looking around the place."
Tyson looked at Josh, who shrugged. "No sir, feel free to."
"Then you won't mind coming with us while we look around." he said.
"No! We have to get out of here!" Josh yelled.
"Why?" the young officer asked, shocked at his outburst.
"Because I want to blow my stupid sister and her stupid boyfriend to Venus and I don't want to kill myself in the process!" Josh yelled, him and the other guys taking off out of the building.
Chapter 46

"Myers and me will go after them, you stay and find out what he was talking about," a tall cop yelled as another cop and him went running after Josh and the rest. "Call for backup!"
The cop left at the warehouse called into the police station and told them that backup and the bomb squad was needed. After that he quickly started to search the warehouse.

"Guys we gotta get out of here like now!" Justin said looking at the clock to the bomb. It read five minutes till it would blow up.
Skyler started to bang on the door after she tried opening the door. "It's no use; we're going to die here," she said as she started to cry. "There's no way we can get out of here."
"Shhh..." Justin said as he hugged her to comfort her. "We'll get out of here. I'm not ready to die. I have a life to live with you in it. Now, help me everyone!"
Everyone got up and started banging on the walls and door, yelling for help. As they were doing that the cop was passing and heard them.
"Hold on, help is here," the cop said, trying to open the door. After it didn't work, he decided to shoot the door knob. "Everyone move away from the door!"
He shot it and the door swung open.
"There's a bomb in here!" Tina yelled.
"Okay everyone out of the building!" The cop said pushing everyone out. "Get as far away as possible!"

"Freeze!" the cop yelled, chasing after Josh and Tyson, but they kept running.
"Freeze now!" the other cop yelled. "Or I'll shoot!"
Tyson stopped running and put his hands in the air.
Josh stopped, wondering why Tyson had stopped. "Man, what are you doing?"
"I'm not dying because of you and your crazy plans," Tyson yelled.
"Whatever," Josh said as he started to run again.
The cop shot and hit Josh in the leg, causing him to fall, yelling in pain. "You're under arrest for attempted murder," the cop said as the other cop handled Tyson.

Everyone kept running and finally stopped, after getting far enough from the building. They turned around just as the building blew up.
"Shh... Mandi, everything is okay. We got out and I'll never let anything happen to you again," JC said, stroking her hair. "I could never lose you."
Epilogue

Mandi pulled slightly away from JC and watched an officer read Josh his rights, handcuffing him and pulling him to his feet. She noted the blood gushing out of Josh's leg. "I'm going to be sick.." she mumbled, burying her head in JC's chest.
"Shh.. it's okay," JC said, rubbing her back soothingly. He looked up and saw Lance talking hurriedly to the girl who had led them to the warehouse, who looked more confused than scared. Justin and Skyler were hugging and crying not too far away, and Joey and Chris were trying their best to calm Sheena and Tina, who were sitting on the ground, hugging and crying. He looked back down at Mandi. He hated seeing her cry, and it seemed to be something she did a lot of.
She glanced up at him and studied his face. "Skyler told you?" she asked, noting the sympathetic look in his eyes. He nodded, running his hands through her hair. She swallowed, but the tears still streamed down her face. "I'm sorry for not telling you," she said again, putting her head on his shoulder. "There's still something no one knows."
"What's that sweetie?" JC asked, hugging her tightly.
"He wasn't really my brother," she whispered. "I was adopted."
"Shhh.. It's okay," he whispered. "Everything will be okay. He's gone and he will never hurt you again. No one will ever hurt you again."
