Chapter 21

Mandi felt a little weird that she had told Lance, of all people, her deepest secret.
"Don't tell anyone, Lance! Especially JC!" she cried into his shoulder.
"I'm not," he assured her.
"Only you and Skyler know," she said.
"I won't tell, and I know Sky won't." he said.
"Thanks," she said, standing up.
"Come on, we have to go warn the guys about Joey's Hoey!" she said.
"Joey's Hoey?" Lance asked, raising his eyebrows.
Mandi laughed and swung the backpack she'd somehow stuffed all her stuff into over her shoulder.
"Sheena, duh!! Come on, Lance!" she said, pulling him up and wiping her tears off her cheeks.
She followed him out the door, locking it behind her.

"BEWARE OF JOEY'S HOEY!!" Mandi exclaimed as Sheena walked through the door.
"Joey has a hoey?" she asked, stopping to think about it. "What's a hoey?"
Joey grinned. "A hoey is a..."
"JOEY!" Sheena, Justin, Mandi and Lance yelled.
"What?" he asked, smiling innocently.
Mandi rolled her eyes.
"Hey," Lance said, looking around the room. "Where's JC?"
"Oh, Lou called him down to do some kind of autograph thing at a radio station." Justin said.
Mandi shook her head. "Isn't this supposed to be you guys' break? He needs to be more.." she looked for the right word.
"Nice?" Joey asked.
Sheena gave him a weird look.
"What?" he asked again.

JC looked around the radio station parking lot with wide eyes.
He smiled at the girl that came up first for an autograph.
Her eyes widened and for minute JC thought she was frozen stiff.
"M-m-my name is Melinda," she said.
"Hey Melinda! I'm JC!" he said, taking the pictuire from her.
"Like, no duh!" the girl behind her said.
JC laughed and handed Melinda the picture back.
"T-thanks!" she said, running off.
He smiled at the other girl. "And your name is?"
"Sonya!" she said
"Hey Sonya, I think you know my name, right?" he asked, grinning.
"YEAH!" she said.
He laughed and handed her the picture.
A guy walked up ans smiled at him. "I'm Harvey." he said.
JC smiled. "Is it for you or a friend?" he asked.
"Me," the Harvey said.
"It's nice all of our fans aren't just female," JC said as he signed the autograph.
"Oh, yeah.. I can see how horrible it is to have practically the whole female population chase after you." he said sarcasticly.
JC laughed. "You have no idea."
Harvey laughed and took the picture JC was holding out to him.

CHAPTER 22

JC had just finished the autograph signing. He walked into the house to see everyone spread out in the living room and watching something on the TV

"Hey everyone!", JC said making sure they all noticed he was home.
He heard a bunch of 'Heys' but only one person turned to look at him and that was Mandi.
She smiled at him and waved. Her smiles always made him melt, He motioned for her to follow him into the Kitchen.

"yeah?", Mandi asked as soon as she got into the kitchen.
JC was looking through the refrigerator for something to drink, "You promised me we could go out to dinner and catch up on things."
"I know I did", Mandi simply replied.
"So...", JC said.
"So...", Mandi said mimicking him.
JC gave her one of his looks, "Let's go now"
"Now? don't you think it's kinda late, and look at what i'm wearing, besides..", Mandi said being cut off by him.
"Mandi, let's just go pleaseeeee!", JC pleaded.
"Okay, I can't resist that face", Mandi said as she walked over and squeezed his cheek then started to walk away.
"Mandi come here", JC said.
Mandi walked over to him. JC wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in hugging her tight.
"JC?", Mandi asked.
"Sorry, I Just missed having you around", JC replied letting go.
"I'm going to go comb my hair real quick ok", Mandi said not knowing what to tell him.
"Okay hurry up", JC replied as she walked off.

Chapter 23

Mandi leaned back in JC's car. "I told you it was too late to go out. I'll have you know, if I fall asleep, you, sir, are carrying me to my bed and if Joey or Chris touches my hair, you're dead."
"Yes ma'am!" he said, turning the car.
Mandi picked her head up to see where they were.
"Where are we?" she asked, not recognizing the place.
"We're almost there.." he said, turning again.
"Where are we going?" Mandi asked, jumping up, forgetting she was sleepy.
"It's a surprise," he said simply.
"A surprise?" Mandi asked.
"Yep!"
"I hate surprises," she said, sitting back again.
JC laughed.

"Don't you see?" Joey asked.
He was having a hard time getting his point across.
Sheena looked at Justin and Skyler.
They shrugged.
"No, Joey. We don't." she said.
"Haven't you noticed how close they are getting?" he asked, getting desperate.
"How close who is getting?" Lance asked, walking through the door.
"JC and Mandi," Joey said.
"It doesn't take a genius the figure that out," Lance said, sitting down at the table.
"Right! And see, what I'm saying is, well hold up.. have you noticed how many times they've come close to kissing?"
Everyone looked around.
"My, you all are observant! Well, its been a lot. Anyway, I think all they have to do is kiss once. Then they'll just shut up and quit whining and everyone will be happy, right?" Joey said finally.

"Chris? Chris? Hey, hey CHRIS!! I'm over here! Not over there!" Tina said, waving her hands in front of Chris's face.
He blinked and looked over at her. "Sorry.. but.. isn't that JC?"
Tina followed his gaze. "Well, it does look like him, but JC is with Mandi.. and there is no Mandi over there, so, no, it's not JC.""He could have left her," Chris said."I seriously doubt he'll do that again."

"Joey how come, all of the sudden your an expert on JC and Mandi?", Lance asked.
"I don't know i just get these weird vibes, it's pretty spooky", Joey replied.
"JOEY!!", Sheena yelled from the back yard.
"Gotta go", Joey said running to the back. "What's up baby?", he asked her.
"I want to go swimming, come on", Sheena said pulling Joey towards the pool.

Mandi started to doze off on the way to JC's surprise.
"WE'RE HERE!", JC yelled so that Mandi wouldn't have an change to sleep.
"Where?", She said looking out the window. "OH no! "
JC just sat there with a huge smile, "I love this place!"
"Are you sure this is my surprise? Cause last time I checked you were the one that loved The Hard Rock Cafe, not me", Mandi said getting out the car.
"Come on you know you love this place!", JC replied jumping out of the car with excitement.
"Whoopi!", Mandi replied sarcastically.
"Loosen up girl!", JC said shaking Mandi around.
"Your tired JC i can tell", Mandi said.
"How?", JC asked.
"Cause you get all hyper when your sleepy", Mandi said as the sat down.
JC started talking and wouldn't stop, Mandi could feel that someone was watching her so she keep looking around the restaurant.
"MANDI, are you listening to me?", JC asked.
"Yeah", Mandi replied still looking around, when she spotted a guy looking at her she couldn't see his face cause he covered himself pretty well but he won't take his eyes off of her.
"JC?", Mandi asked.
"Yeah?", JC asked.
"Is that guy staring at me?", Mandi whispered.
"Where?", JC whispered back.
"Over there", Mandi said eyeing towards the guy.
"There's no one over there sweetie", JC said looking.
"Yes the...", Mandi started when she saw that he was gone.
"He was there", Mandi said.
"Are you sure?", JC asked.
"YES!", Mandi said.

"Well, he's not there anymore," JC said.
"No, really?" Mandi asked sarcastically.
"Yes, really," JC said with a smile. "Come on.."
She followed him but still couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching her.

"Vibes?" Lance asked with a laugh.
Skyler and Justin shrugged.
"Well, I'm leaving. I guess I'll see you guys later, ok?" he said, standing up.
"OK," Justin said.
"Bye, Lance," Skyler smiled.
"See ya," Lance called as he walked out the door.

"Then go swimming," Joey said to Sheena, pushing her in the pool.
"That was NOT funny," she said when she finally came up.
"Yes it was," he said with a smile.
She gave him an evil look. "You wanna see something funny?"
"No.." he said, backing up.
"Sure ya do..." she said, walking towards him.
"No, I don't.." he said.
She reached out and grabbed him legs, pulling him in the water on top of her.
"That.." she said when he came up, "was funny!"

Mandi turned her head so she could see JC as he drove.
Usually he was staring at the road and looked like he wasn't really thinking, but he seemed to be looking everywhere but the road tonight. His mind seemed to be lost in space somewhere.
"JC? Are you ok?" she asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Why?" he asked, turning a curve.
"You just look different." she shrugged.
"Good or bad?"
"Well, good I guess." she said.
He nodded, turning again.
"So, how have you been?" he asked.
"I've been good. It's been pretty boring here without Chris around, and Sheena and Skyler have been real drags without Justin and Joey."
"Sheena? A drag? No way!" he said sarcastically.
Mandi laughed, realizing for the first time just how much she'd missed JC.
CHAPTER 26

"Sheena!", Joey said angrily.
"Your mad?", Sheena asked.
"Why did you do that?", Joey replied with a question.
"Sorry, it's just i thought it would be fun i didn't know you were going to get mad about it", Sheena explained as she pulled away from him and started to the pool stairs.
Joey went under the water and started to swim towards Sheena. She turned but didn't see Joey.
"Joey?", Sheena called out. "Joey this isn't funny!"
She turned back towards the stairs.
"AHHH!", She screamed when she saw Joey standing there.
"Don't do that!", She said hitting his chest. "You scared me!"
Joey just laughed.
"Sorry", Joey said with puppy dog eyes.
"why did you get mad at me?", Sheena asked.
"I was just playing baby", Joey replied giving her a passionate kiss.

"Where are we going now JC?", Mandi asked.
"Just riding around why? is there somewhere you want to go?", JC asked.
"No, just wondering", Mandi replied as she looked out the widow. She looked into the rearview mirror. She turned to see a car that was behind them.
"What is it?", JC asked.
"JC turn here", Mandi said not explaining herself.
"What is it?", JC asked as he turned.
She waited a minute to see if the car turned with them and it did.
"I think that car is following us", Mandi replied.
"Mandi, what's going on?", JC asked. "Are you not telling me something?"
"NO", Mandi replied quickly.
"Okay? why don't we just go back to the house.", JC replied.
The rest of the ride home was quiet.

"How was your date?", Chris asked as mandi and JC walked into the house.
"It wasn't a date", Mandi replied and JC just turned red.
JC walked up to his room and mandi followed him.
"would you ever go on a date with me?", JC asked when he saw her behind him.
"I don't know, i've never thought about it", Mandi replied.
"Mandi, i feel that there's something your not telling me why do you always feel someone is following you?", JC asked.

CHAPTER 27

Mandi shrugged and glanced out the window.
"Because someone IS following me," she said, her eyes opening wide.
JC looked out the window.
"I don't see anyone," he said.
"He's gone. He saw me."
JC looked at her. "Mandi, be truthful. Why did you leave the tour? Was it because of me?"
Mandi looked up at him. He seemed unusually sad. "It was NOT because of you, JC. It was a family problem."
He sighed. "I was afraid I'd done something wrong."
She shook her head. "Not you, JC."
He smiled and pulled her close to him.
"I'm glad you're still here. I forgot to ask you something."
Mandi felt her body unwillingly tense up. "Yeah?" she asked in a quivery voice.
JC pulled away slightly and looked down at her.
"Why can't you be comfortable around me?" he asked. "You get tense whenever I touch you. What is it about me that you can't stand so much?"
"It's not you JC. I told you that." she said, coming close to tears.
"What is it then?" he asked.
Mandi studied his hurt expression.
"I.." she began, but she couldn't bring herself to say it.
She looked down and shook her head.
"It's ok, Mandi," he said, "I just don't understand why you are so outgoing one minute then something little happens and you clam up like.." he shrugged, "..like I'm some kind of psychopath or something."
Mandi smiled weakly and pulled him closer to her. "I love you even though you are a psychopath."
JC wrapped his arms tighter around her. "Well, do you wanna hear what I wanted to ask you?"
"Sure," she said.
"Do you want to tell the other girls you guys are coming on tour with us or should I?"
Mandi jumped back, her eyes wide. "No way!"
JC laughed.
"I love you so much!" Mandi said happily, throwing her arms around his neck. She kissed him on the cheek, then kissed him on the other cheek, and then kissed him on the lips.

"What's the matter with them?" Chris asked.
"You know how Mandi gets," Tina shrugged, "Don't worry about it. They'll be best friends tomorrow."
Chris nodded. "You're right."
Tina smiled. "Duh! I'm always right."
Chris arched his eyebrows.
"What?" she asked, stretching out on the couch.
"Nothing," he said, giving her an evil grin.

Chapter 28

"Sorry", Mandi said pulling away from JC and walking to the door.
"Wait!", JC called out. "It's okay, I wanted you to kiss me."
Mandi didn't turn back she left the room and went down stairs where Chris and Tina were cuddled together watching a movie.
"What's up?", tina asked when she saw Mandi sit on the chair across the room.
"Nothing!", Mandi replied.
"Okay?", Tina replied turning her attention back to the movie.
Chris started kissing Tina's neck, making her laugh uncontrollably.
"I'm going to bed, see ya later", Mandi said feeling irritated by the noise.
"Okay sweet dreams", Tina replied.
"Goodnight", Chris replied.

Mandi walked into the guest room and felt a cold chill. She started looking for her back so she could change but couldn't find it.
"Maybe Lance put it in the closet", Mandi thought to herself as she walked over to the closet and opened the door. She looked around and saw it laying in the corner so she bend down to pick it up when she stood back up someone grab her by the waist.
"JC stop it!", Mandi said not even turning around.
"Sorry it's not JC", the voice replied.
Mandi froze up when she heard the voice that could only be her brother Josh's.
"What do you want?", Mandi asked turning ,with the words barely coming out.
"You know what i want Mandi", Josh replied.
"Please leave me alone", Mandi said starting to cry.
"Shhh...", Josh replied kissing her neck.

JC was laying on his bed trying to figure out why Mandi always ran away from him, when he knew she had some sort of feeling for him and she had to know by now that he liked her.
"I just gotta go and talk to her", he said aloud as he got up and started walking down the hall.
"MANDI!", JC called out knocking on the door.
"Who's that?", Josh whispered.
"JC", Mandi replied lightly.
"Tell him to go away!", Josh whispered pulled out a gun. "Or i'll have to hurt him"
"JC I DON'T WANT TO TALK RIGHT NOW, PLEASE GO AWAY!", mandi said trying to sound convincing but was having a hard time at it.
"Mandi it's important, about us", JC replied from the other side of the door.
"Not now, i'm tired we can talk about it in the morning", Mandi replied.
"okay", JC replied, feeling that something was wrong he could tell she was crying but he went back to his room thinking that maybe she really was tired.
