CHAPTER 4
As Haley walked up to the house she looked around observing her surroundings. It was a nice house with a fence and a porch surrounding the house.
I have babysat here before. The kid's name is Jonathan. Very cute!
"I'm home!" JC yelled as he opened the door.
"Just in time to help me clean the dishes!" Justin said as he handed JC a sponge. Haley stood at the door wondering if she should follow JC into the kitchen. She decided to wait until he introduced her to whom she guessed were the other members of 'N Sync. When he didn't she stood awarkdly at the door. She was just about to leave through the open door when she felt a tug on her pants.
"Haley! You came again!" Jonathan said as he wrapped his arms around her leg.
"Hey buddy!" Haley said as she bent down to his level. "Long time no see!" Lynn walked out to see whom her son was greeting, surprised to see Haley standing at the door.
"Haley HI! Can I help you?" Haley picked up Jonathan and swung him around before she focused on Lynn.
"Actually, JC invited me in. I didn't know you had another son. He doesn't look like you at all."
"Oh, No JC isn't my son!" Lynn said as she hid a smile behind her hand.
"Oh" Haley mumbled, her cheeks turning a slight shade of crimson.
"JC! Would you like to introduce us to your friend?" Lynn yelled into the kitchen.
"Oh yeah Haley!" JC said as he dropped the sponge remembering his guest.
"Yeah remember me?" Haley said as she entered the kitchen placing Jonathan on the ground. All the guys were sitting at the table watching her as she walked in. Haley felt like she was on a runway showing off the next big fashion design, she didn't like the feeling she was getting from this sudden attention.
"Guys this is Haley" JC said as she walked next to her.
"Nice to meet you." Haley flashed a smile as she waved to the people at the table.
"I'm Justin" Justin said as he took her hand.
"Jonathan's brother right?" Haley asked as she shook his hand.
"Yup." He quickly returned to a pile of cookies on the counter.
"I'm Joey, and this is Chris and Lance." Haley smiled again as all three tried to grab her hand at once.
"Nice to meet all of you again." Haley said as she sat down at the table. She watched as the guys shoved food in their faces.
"Haley?"
"Yes Jonathan." Haley turned to her little buddy.
"You're still my girlfriend right?" All of the guys' heads shot up surprised at Jonathan's question.
"Of course I am" Haley said as she gave him a kiss on the cheek. Jonathan smiled a sleepy smile before widening his mouth for a yawn.
"Jonathan are you tired?" Lynn asked as she smoothed her little boy's hair.
"No, I don't wanna go to sleep!"
"Come on Jonathan, I'll put you to bed." Haley said standing up next to him. He raised his arms around her neck as she bent down to pick him up. They walked out of the room and upstairs, Haley humming a soothing song in Jonathan's ear.
"Ok we can go over now." Justin said with a plate of cookies in his arms.
"Is Lauren going to be there?" Joey asked as she cleared his plate. "I like her."
"Yeah, what about Sarah?" Lance called from the other room. He walked up next to Joey and whispered in his ear "I think she likes me."
"Great for you Lance!" Joey said sarcastically as he held up a thumbs up sign.
"Well, do you guys want to find out?" Chris asked. He already had his coat on and he was motioning towards the door.
"I'll go get Haley" JC said as he walked past Joey. When he was up the stairs Joey turned around to his friends.
"JC's got a crush! Bigtime!" They all laughed as they walked out the doors.
As JC got closer to Jonathan's room he heard Haley's soft voice. He walked in the doorway and smiled. She was quietly singing to a sleeping Jonathan while rubbing his head.
"WHEN WILL MY REFLECTION SHOW WHO I AM INSIDE." Haley finished the song and sensing someone behind her turned around. She was surprised to find JC standing there, staring at her.
"We're going over to your house now." JC said coming out of his daze.
"Ok." Haley turned back to Jonathan and bent down to place a kiss on his forehead. "He is so sweet" Haley whispered to JC as they walked down the stairs.
"Yeah, great kid."
"See ya later Lynn." Haley walked out the door with JC close behind.
It was a nice night and Haley stared up at the clear stary night as she crossed the street. "It's a great night for stargazing." Haley said. She turned to look at JC and smiled as he returned the favor.
"Hmm." He mumbled. When JC and Haley walked into the house the lights were off and the previews were on the T.V. screen.
"What movie are we watching?" Haley asked as she sat down on the couch.
"Goonies!" Rachel called from the floor. Her head was resting on Justin's lap and she was eating a cookie. The two had gotten really close just from talking that morning. It was a little weird but neither was refusing the sudden urge to be close to one another.
"Good movie" JC said as he positioned himself next to Haley. She got up and walked up the stairs. Minutes later she skipped into the room wearing her soccer warm-up suit. JC was staring at her as she sat next to him.
"Glasses" Haley, said as she tapped the lens. JC nodded and scooted closer to Haley turning her around so her back was facing him.
"You seem tense." He said as he started a back massage. He didn't know what was coming over him but he liked this feeling. Sort of light headed and giddy all together mixed with sensitive and sweet.
"You're so right!" Haley mumbled as her whole body relaxed.
When JC had finished his soothing massage he pulled Haley back against him. She moved her body so that she could see the T.V screen resting her head against JC's chest to use it as a pillow.
"I'm just gonna rest my eyes for a little while ok?" Haley asked looking up at JC.
"Sure" He smiled back wiping away a stray hair away from her face.
God this feels good! Don't get too comfortable Haley! You know what will happen when you relax, don't be stupid again.
Haley shook the thoughts out of her head, hiding them for the time being. She didn't know what she was doing definatly not her normal attitude around someone new but JC was different. He seemed too good to be true even for the short time she knew him.

Haley woke up to laughing. She opened her eyes to find a rerun of SNL on T.V. Resting her head back down against JC's chest she surveyed her position. Her arms were around JC's body and his arm was around her shoulder. Her legs were intertwined between his and his warmth sent chills up her spine. Everyone else had left the room and Haley and JC lay on the couch in complete darkness except for the light from the T.V.
"Are you cold?" JC asked as he felt her shiver.
"Yeah" She said as she got up off him. She walked over and grabbed a blanket off the chair wrapping it around her. She walked back over to JC hesitating a little. "Do you mind?" Haley asked as she sat next to JC.
"Not at all" JC pulled her back against him.
"Ok, good." She snuggled closer to his body as he wrapped and arm around her waist.
Why does this feel so perfect? Why is JC bringing back feelings you haven't felt in a long time?
As Haley fell asleep she tried to sort out her feelings for JC. She had only met him that day so she wasn't sure what his personality was really like or why she was lying next to him at that very moment.
Give it time. Might be a good friend or worst enemy!
As Haley was drifting off to sleep she felt JC's arm around her tighten its grip. His breathing was steady and she knew he was asleep. Taking one last whiff of his aftershave she was swept up by the sandman.

CHAPTER 5

JC woke up the next morning to the smell of maple syrup. He rubbed his eyes as he remembered where he was.
Right Haley's house…where is she?
JC's eyes searched the room and finally rested on Haley in the kitchen. She was standing by the stove with a spatula in her hand. JC guessed her cooking was the cause of the beautiful aroma. He walked over into the kitchen quietly so she wouldn't hear him approaching. Her back was to him so he silently slipped his cold hands around her waist.
"JESUS!" Haley cried as she turned around to see who's freezing hands were on her stomach. Her eyes rested on JC and a smile appeared on her face. "Good morning Blue Eyes!" Haley said as she ruffled his hair.
"Watcha makin'?" JC asked as he peered over her shoulder.
"Pancakes, and you are my first customer." She handed him a plate piled with pancakes on it. "Butter and syrup over there." JC walked over to the table as Lauren walked out of her room.
"Was I not invited to the sleepover?" Lauren asked as she noticed JC sitting at the table. JC smiled through mouthful of pancake causing the girls to laugh. Sarah came out moments later. Her eyes were half closed but they popped open when she saw JC. She turned to Haley but relaxed as Haley mouthed "Tell ya later."
KNOCK KNOCK
"I'll get it!" Kelly yelled as she walked down the stairs. She opened the door to find a smiling Justin. "Rachel's sick upstairs in her bed" Kelly said as Justin rushed by her.
"Is JC here?" Chris asked as he peeked his head in to look around the room.
"YUP!" Haley called from the kitchen.
"What? He is?" Kelly asked as a confused look appeared on her face.
"We had a sleepover. Me and Haley" JC said as he set his plate into the sink.
"Guys, help yourself to some pancakes, I'm gonna take a shower." Haley placed a plate full of pancakes on the table as everyone took their seats.
"Rachel's not sick!" Justin exclaimed as he walked past Haley on the stairs. Rachel followed behind him and Haley noticed a giddy smile on her face.
"I know" Kelly said looking at Justin.
"Then why did you send me upstairs?" Justin asked confused.
"I thought it would be funny to see you run up there…and it was." Kelly smiled at Rachel as she received a silent "Thank You" from her.

When Haley came out of her shower she put on some make-up and threw on her H.H.S. Turkey Day shirt and some Adidas pants. She wanted to know what they were planning on doing that day so she bounded down the stairs. She found everyone in the kitchen sitting around the table. The phone book was open and Bowl-a-Rama was circled in pencil.
"Ok, so we are going bowling?" Haley asked.
"If you want to." JC replied turning to her.
"Yeah that would be fun."
"Great! And then we are going clubbin'" JC stood up and grabbed Haley by the waist. He swung her around and started to dance with her. Haley looked at him like he was crazy and started hysterically laughing.
"Ok, I'm gonna go change then." Haley said as she placed a hand on JC's shoulder to stop him from dancing. She started to walk by him but was stopped again by his dancing.
"You look fine." JC said sincerely while he danced with her.
"JC CHASEZ! Do you really think I am going to go out clubbin' like this?" Haley asked as she looked down at her clothes. She turned around and started upstairs followed by the other girls.

An hour later the girls studied each other at the top of the stairs before walking downstairs.
"We look great!" Haley exclaimed as the started down the stairs. The guys looked in awe as the girls appeared at the bottom. The girls didn't notice them staring because they were talking. Haley walked into an amazed JC and started laughing at the expression on his face.
"You could catch flies Blue Eyes!" Haley said as she pushed his mouth closed. Everyone laughed as they walked outside to the cars.

When they arrived at the bowling alley Haley and JC raced each other to the door causing a scene of their own.
"Kids!" Chris said as he met up with them at the door. Everyone rented shoes and got the lane assignments. They had decided in the car that they would split into 5 teams of 2: Haley and JC, Justin and Rachel, Chris and Kelly, Joey and Lauren, and Sarah and Lance.
"JC and I are gonna kick some ass!" Haley said when it was her turn. She walked up and threw the ball knocking down 8 pins. As she was walking back JC motioned her over to him.
"What!? Can't you see I'm tryin' to bowl!" She yelled sarcastically.
"I have a secret weapon." JC whispered. Haley raised her eyebrow giving him the "your kidding right?" look. "When you finish go like this." JC placed his hands together above his head, and spun around causing everyone to crack up laughing.
"Why should I do that?" Haley asked.
"You will get a strike I promise!" JC smiled and placed his hand on her shoulder. "I promise." Haley shrugged and walked up to the line, she threw the ball and watched it until she heard JC yelling.
"Piroette, Haley! Piroette!" She lifted her hands and spun around until she heard the pins hitting the ground.
"I got a strike!" Haley said as she high-fived JC.
"I knew you could do it!" JC said as he pulled her into a hug. Haley was surprised but she hugged him back all the same.

By the end of the game Justin's team was leading with JC and Haley close behind. They only needed a strike to win the game and it was Haley's turn.
"Ok, now use the secret weapon!" JC whispered as he placed his hands on Haley's shoulders.
"I can't hit 10 pins in one try!" Haley said as she fingered the bowling ball in her hand.
"Yes you can! Remember we are out there to kick some ass!" With that said JC turned her around and pushed her up to the line.
Come on Haley! Do it for JC! You can do it!
Haley took a deep breath before throwing the ball at the neatly setup of pins. She closed her eyes and lifter her hands above her head. She turned around listening for the crash of the pins. She heard JC's applause and Justin's groan so she opened her eyes to see all 10 pins on the ground.
"We won!" Haley cried as she threw her hands around JC's neck and started jumping up and down.
"Haley, aha Haley, I can't breathe!" JC stammered.
"Oh Sorry." Haley apologized as she looked at JC. "But I can't believe we won!" JC engulfed her in a bear hug as and as they parted he remembered something.
"I thought you said you were good at bowling?"
"I lied." Haley said as she sheepishly looked at JC.
"Ok you two!" Joey yelled breaking up their hug. "Let's go over the arcade." The guys rushed over without any hesitating. Haley made her way over to where Lance and JC were playing air hockey. Lance was normally a very calm guy, but when you gave him competition he turned into a fierce competitor. JC was just JC, a person who always wanted to do his best. She enjoyed watching them play. JC beat Lance in one game and Lance took the other.
They looked over at her before Lance asked, "Do you want to play?"
Haley shook her head quickly. "Oh no. I like watching you two play. Besides, I've never played this before."
They looked at her in shock. "You've never played air hockey before?"
"Jeez guys. It's not like I'm an alien or something."
JC grabbed her hand and led her to his side of the table. "This is what you do. See this long slit there? That's the goal. You use this thing to hit the puck into Lance's goal, and you try to keep Lance from shooting it in yours. Simple huh?"
She shook her head. "Yeah…simple." JC stepped to her right and motioned for Lance to shoot the puck. He hit it towards her and it went straight into the goal. JC laughed at her surprised face. "Now that you've seen what you DON'T want to do, let's try it again, the right way." Lance shot the puck again and it went straight into her goal again. JC slowly looked over at Lance. Lance could only smile at JC's expression. "How can someone as athletic as you not be good at air hockey?!" Haley shrugged her shoulders and started to walk away from the table. JC grabbed her arm and pulled her back to where she was. "All you need is a little help getting started." He walked around behind her and leaned his head over her shoulder. "Put your hand here." She put her hand down and he reached around to place his hand on top of hers on the hockey cup. His other hand rested on her waist for balance.
Haley was a little shocked at their closeness. She could feel his entire body against her back. His chin rested on her shoulder placing his cheek against hers.
She inhaled deeply and smelled his cologne. "Ok…um…now what?"
Lance shot the puck and JC guarded the goal by moving her hand. When the puck hit against the cup she smiled. "We hit it!" JC and Lance laughed at her excited expression. None of them noticed Joey, Lauren, and Justin standing together, arms crossed, watching curiously from across the arcade.
Justin smiled when he saw JC and Haley together. "Looks like our little buddies are getting pretty close there."
Joey shook his head. "Oh yeah. There is definitely some touching going on. Go JC! Go JC!"
Lauren rolled her eyes. "Get your mind out of the gutter. We need to make sure that they keep finding themselves together." They all nodded and smiled one last time when Haley suddenly turned around and hugged JC. Things were definitely heating up between the two. Haley had her arms around JC's neck and was jumping up and down.
"Haley. Haley stop. I can't breathe." JC choked out.
"We won! I can't believe we won! Oh this is so much fun. I need to get one of these for the house." She said as she released his neck. Haley smiled at the two guys. "Can we play again?"
JC looked at his watch. "Actually we were going to head to the club. It is called the Playdium, every heard of it?" Everyone walked out to the cars and pilled in.
