Chapter 10

A few weeks later

“Hello and thank you for coming or tuning in to Mtv’s Jeff Timmons Memorial.” Carson said on stage at Edison Field in Anaheim. The stadium was packed full of mourners all dressed in black or gray. “We are here to celebrate and remember a man most of you never met but were touched by anyways. “ Carson continued, “All proceeds of the memorial will be given to charities in Jeff’s name. The people who knew him best will be sharing memories and feelins of Jeff and what he meant to them. We will also be sharing letters from fans we have received since his death. Nick.” Nick stood and talked about how he met Jeff. As Katya listened to everyone speak before her she felt herself fall deeper into despair. “Jeff was so considerate of others that he was talking about not having a best man at his wedding just so he wouldn’t have to choose between us.” She heard Drew say. “God I don’t think I cann do this.” She whispered as she scanned the audience to lock eyes with JC. “Yes you can.” He mouthed. “Katya.” Nick said giving her hand a squeeze. Katya stood and walked to the mic. “The guys painted a pretty good picture of who Jeff really was. So I guess I can add to it by telling you what is was to love and be loved by him. Though I know because of the latter a lot of you hated me. Be thankful now that you don’t have to live without that love. I do.” Katya said fighting back tears. “Loving Jeff was really easy. And being loved by him was the closest thing I will ever come now to heaven on earth. He always knew when I needed space or when I needed to be held. Not to say that he was perfect. But his imperfections only made me love him more.” Katya said a tear fell down her cheek, “I…I…Oh god,” Katya stammered as tears slowly trickled down her face, “So may peoples lives have been changed forever by Jeff. His death has left a huge hole in my heart.” She said letting her tears fall freely, “and his love…his love has given…has given me a gift.” Katya said placing her hand on her stomach were Jeff would be with her forever in their child that grew within her. “So I have to learn to be strong and live without him.” She said as she broke into sobs, “I…god…Jeff…can’t do this…Jeff…I want Jeff.” Katya finished as she fell to the ground sobbing. JC got up to go to her but was stopped by a guard. “Let him up.” Nick instructed as he tried to comfort Katya who wasn’t letting anyone touch her. He doesn’t have any authorization.” The guard said. “Here’s my authorization.” JC said as he punched the guard in his gut. As the guard doubled over JC made a beeline for the stage. Nick and Justin helped him up and he ran to Katya who was trying to be consoled by Carson and Drew. “Kat it’s me Josh.” He said kneeling by her. “I want Jeff.” She sobbed. “He’s not here. But I am.” He said wrapping his arms around her without any objections on her part. “I don’t know if I can do this.” She sobbed as she grabbed onto him. “You have to live through this. Do it for Jeff. Do it for me. Do it for your baby.” JC said taking her face in his hands. “My baby.” Your baby.” “Will you help me?” she asked. “Always.”

Chapter 11

A few months later

“Your doctor called.” JC said as he fiddled with the piano of the home they now shared that Katya had moved out of the one she shared with Jeff. “Really what did he asy?” She asked. “Well he got the ultrasound pictures back.” JC said as he got up and sat next to her on the couch. “You know what the baby’s sex is don’t you? I can see it in your eyes.” She said smiling. JC grinned and bent down to place a kiss on Katya’s ballooning stomach, “Hey there Fiona. You comfy in there?” “It’s a girl?” Katya asked as her face light up and her face became somehow even more beautiful to him.

Chapter 12

3 months later

“Push Kat! Come on you can do it.” JC coached as Katya screamed through the pain. “I wish I could yell at you.” She muttered. “You can do whatever you want as long as you push.” He instructed. “thank you for your permission.” She cracked. “Your welcome now push.” “No.” “No?” he asked in shock. “I am in no mood to take orders not even from you.” “Katya Grinkova you push that baby I’ve been waiting to see and hold or the next time I’m on TRL I’ll tell about the time you…”

“She’s so beautiful.” Nick said lookin down at his “niece”. “Fiona Grinkova Tiimons. I like it.” Chris said as both Justins, Drew, Lance and Joey all tried to get a look at the quiet little bundle nestled in her mother’s arms. “Who does she look like?” Justin T. asked. “Katya.” Lance said as Katya smiled at him. “She’s going to have Jeff’s smile though.” Drew said quietly. “I wish he was here.” Justin J. stated making sure Katya didn’t hear. “I’m sure he does to.”

Chapter 13

“What are you doing up?” Katya asked JC as she came out of Fiona’s room. “I couldn’t sleep.” He answered. “Sorry Fiona was hungry.” “So I’ve been awake most of the night.” “Is something wrong?” Katya asked. “Yeah what’s been bothering me is whatever has been bothering you ever since Fiona was born. You’ve been kind of sad for months now.” He answered. “Maybe we should talk.” “I think that would be a good idea.” JC said as he opened the door to his room and let her in.

“Does it have anything to do with Jeff?” he asked as they sat on his bed. “Sort of. I’ve been think about how Fiona will never know him. Never have a father.” She told him. “I know I’m not her biological one but I’ll be her father. I already feel like she’s my own.” JC said quietly as Katya sat still. “You have been like a father to her, haven’t you? You were there for us before she was born, while she was being born, and you’ve gotten up and taken care of her in the middle of the night. I don’t know why I haven’t realized this before but God JC you’v e done so much.” “Well I love you both.” He said touching her cheek softly. Katya felt a familiar but strange yearning. “My god Katya he’s been your best friend for almost twenty years. Get a hold of yourself.” She thought as JC softly and lovingly rubbed her cheek. Which caused sparks of desire within her. “Kat I…” he said as his hand moved and his fingers touched her lips. “Holy cow,” he thought, “I’m trying to seduce my best friend.” “Josh what are you doing?” “I’m not sure but if you want me to stop…” “And if I don’t?” she asked as she took his hand and kissed his palm. He answered by leaning in and kissing her shoulder. Katya’s body tingled all over. “Tell me to stop and I will.” He said kissing his way up her neck. “If you stop…ooooh,” she said as he nibbled on her ear. “Just don’t stop.” She said with a smile as JC’s lips finally made their way to her mouth. They kissed each other with a passion they each didn’t know they had. “Kat?” “Josh?” they asked breathlessly. “I want to kiss you some more.” JC told her in between kisses. She kissed him with abandon as she moved her legs on either side of his hips and her body onto his lap, in order to get closer to him. She moved her hands into his wifebeater and played with the muscles on his tone back. “Kat, remember just tell to stop and I…” he started to say before he was silenced by her mouth. He pushed the straps of her blue nightgown down off her shoulders and off her arms. Causing it to fall in a pool about her waist. “God your beautiful!” He said looking down at her half naked body. “So are you.” She said as she removed his wifebeater. They kissed passionately as they used their hands to explore one another’s bodies. Katya sighed with pleasure as JC replaced his hands with his mouth. Katya gasped as his mouth moved over her breasts. “I want you inside me.” She whispered as she clung to him. Wrapping her legs tighter about his waist. “Are you sure?” JC asked looking into her eyes. “If I wasn’t I wouldn’t still be here.” She said as she moved to lay on the bed pulling him on top of her. They kissed passionately but tenderly before they quickly removed the rest of their clothes. She moaned in extasy as he moved into her. “God Kat you feel so good.” JC whispered as he slowly moved his bady back and forth. “Oh Joshie!” she gasped as she moved her body with his. “Kat.” He gasped as he kissed her while they moved together. “Josh.” She breathed back. “I think I’m falling in love with you.” JC said as he felt himself abut to climax. Katya looked him in the eyes and kissed him as they moved together perfectly as a wave of immeasurable pleasure washed over them.

“Did you mean what you said?” Katya asked as she lay spent in JC’s arms. “Mean what?” he asked kissing the top of her head. “Do you really think your falling in love with me?” she asked looking up at him. “No.” “No?” she asked in shock. “Calm down.” He said as he moved on top of her. “I would love to make love again but you have some explaining to do.” She said as she wrapped her legs around his hips. “I don’t think I love you I KNOW I do.” He stated as he entered her body. I never thought it was possible but I love you too.” She gasped as they once again became and moved as one.

Chapter 14

One month later

“Tell me again why I left Fiona with Jeff’s mother to come here. You know how I feel about Russia.” Katya stated as they drove down a St. Petersburg street. “Because some of the memorial money went to this hospital.” Justin J. answered. “Because you want to visit it as much as we do.” Lance continued. “Because you the only one of us who can speak Russian.” Chris commented as everyone burst into laughter.

“Is something going on between Katya and JC?” Nick asked as they visited with the children. “They best friends.” Justin T. said as he looked at JC playing cards with a little boy on the other end of the room. “Have they ever been more than that?” Nick asked. “No, never.” Justin stated. “Oh well I should just drop the subject.”

“These poor people.” Katya said as her and Drew delivered flowers to patients in a huge room filled with beds and people. “Yeah I know. It breaks your heart. That’s why I couldn’t stand the children’s ward.” Drew commented. “All I kept thinking was this culd be Fiona. Oh sorry” she asid as a patient bumped into her. “Katya?” A familiar voice asked from behind her. Katya froze. “No it can’t be.” She whispered. “Oh my god.” She heard Drew exclaim. Katya slowly turned around, clutching a vase full of flowers. “OH MY GOD!” She yelled as she let the vase crash to the floor, “JEFF!”

Chapter 15

"Katya open the door." Chantel and Kim yelled as they pounded on her bedroom door. "Chantel go back to work and Kim go spend sometime with your boyfriend intead of bothering me." Katya said as she opened her door. "Justin is just as worried about you as I am." Kim said shutting the door behind her. "Tell us what's wrong Katya, I would think you would be shouting from the roof tops now that Jeff's not dead." Chantel said. "I still can't believe that he was in a coma in a Russian hospital for a year and not dead." Kim commented. "I'm happy he's alive. It just changes everything." Katya said sitting on the edge of her bed. "For better right? Fiona will have a father now." Kim said sitting next to Katya on the bed. "She had one in JC." Katya replied. "You have Jeff back. He still wants to marry you." Chantel stated. "Things are different now." Katya said as tears formed in her eyes. "Don't you love Jeff?" Kim asked confused. "Of course I do! Just not as much as I..." "Not as much as you lov JC." Chantel finished for her. "What?" Kim asked at the same time Katya asked," How did you know?" "I see they way you look at him. I also heard the two of you the night I stayed while they were fumagationg my place." Chantel answered. "You heard us?" Katya asked embarrassed. "Yeah god was I jealous." "WAS!" Katya asked. "Still am, just not as much. Lance made me feel a LOT better." Chantel smiled. "YOu slept with JC and you slept with Lance?" Kim asked in shock. "I love JC!" "You sleep with Justin." "But that's not a secret." Kim answered Chantel. "Well no one asked about me and Lance." "JC and I felt the other might not understand." "Well all we need now is Chris' girlfriend and someone for Joey and we could form our own musical group." Chantel joked. "Yeah if you could sing." Kim cracked. "Any way back to the subject at hand, by the way nothing leaves this room, you now have to choose between the father of your child and the man you now love." Chantel stated. "I'm totally aware of that and I've made my decision."

Chapter 16

"Where's Fiona?" JC asked as he sat down next to Katya on the floor of the livingroom. "With Jeff. They need to spend time together." Katya answered. "God I love you." she thought as she touched his cheek. "I love you to." he told her. "Did I say that out loud?" she asked. "No." he smiled. "I do love you. More than anything but Fiona. Remember that. Always." she said kissing him as her tears flowed. "You've come to a decision haven't you?" JC asked quietly. "Yes I have."

Epilogue

"She looks so beautiful." Joey whispered to Justin as they watched Katya walk dowm the aisle. "I'm so glad she's finally going to be happy." Justin replied. "It's been a long time coming for the both of them." Joey stated as they watched Katya exchange her vows to her groom. "I wonder what changed her mind though about what last name she was going to use?" Justin asked looking at JC. "Professional reasons maybe." Joey replied as the priest announced, " Ladies and Gentlemen I give you Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Timmons."
