Chapter 1

"Katya I have to go to New York with the guys to promote the new album. I'll be back in time for Fiona's birthday party." Jeff said to his wife as he packed.
"That's fine, be careful." She said as she read over next week's scripts.
"I'll miss you." Jeff said looking at her.
"Ditto." she said keeping her eyes on the page in front of her.
"I'm going to say goodbye to Fiona." he sighed as he went over to the bed and to give her a kiss.
"Have fun." she said as she quickly kissed him.

Chapter 2

"How's Jeff?" Kim asked as she played with Fiona as Katya and her sat by the garden, just the three of them.
"Okay."
"How would you know your looking at JC." Kim said with worry.
"God every time I'm near him I just want him to take me in his arms." Katya said fighting back tears yet once again.
"Justin says that JC's been really quiet lately." Kim stated.
"Please don't tell me that." Katya whispered.
"Can I ask you something?" Kim asked.
"Go ahead."
"Do and Jeff make love a lot?" Kim asked as Katya's eyes widened.
"No not really." she answered.
"When you do, do you think of JC?" Kim asked as she watched a tear fall down Katya's cheek.
"Yes." Yes Katya answered softly

Chapter 3

"Fight for her!" Justin said as they got to JC's house. The one JC once shared with Katya.
"What?" JC asked slightly confused by his friend’s words.
"You’re in love with Katya and the reason she's probably unhappy is because she's in love with you." Justin answered.
"She chose Jeff." JC answered, making the decision not to hide anymore
"Because of Fiona. But what child wants their mother to be unhappy."
"I lost them both and now I have to live with it." JC said walking away.

"Katya we need to talk." Jeff said as they got ready for bed.
"Then talk." She said getting in bed.
"Do you love me?" He asked getting in besides her.
"I married you didn't I?" she said avoiding the answer.
"Are you happy?"
"Jeff do you really want the answer?" she asked.
"No I don't think I do." He said closing his eyes

Chapter 4

"Annalynn we will find our daughter." Jonathan said as he held Katya.
"And if we don't." Katya asked.
"Cut, print. Great job you two. Have a nice day." the director said.
"See you guys Monday." Katya said as she made her way to her dressing room. "JC!" she said in shock as she opened the door to find him standing there.
"You know you haven't called me Josh since you married Jeff. I miss it." JC said remarking upon the no longer used endearment
"What are you doing here? Not that I'm not glad to see you." she said with out having to lie.
"We need to talk."
"About what?" she asked.
"I want our friendship back. If I can't have you the way you know I want you then I want my bestfriend back." He said with a determined yet shaky voice.
"I want mine back to." she said wrapping her arms around in a hug.
"I've missed you Kat." He siad as their lips got dangerously close.
"I've missed you to Josh." She said moving closer as he smiled at hearing her call him what she had called him for almost twenty years.
"Katya."
She spun around to see Jeff in the doorway. "Jeff Hi!" she said with a fake smile.

Chapter 5

"Is there something going on between you and JC?" Jeff asked the next night at dinner in front of Chantel, Lance, Kim and Justin.
"Jeff!" Katya shouted, shocked.
"I know we have guests but I don't care. You two looked really cozy yesterday in your dressing room." He said with anger.
"We're friends, it was a hug." she argued truthfully.
"So your not having an affair with JC?" he asked as Lance sat wide-eyed and the others sat quietly.
"NO, I am not having an affair with JC."
"So you and he have nver been more than just friends?" he asked as she kept silent. "I'll take that as you two have been more than friends. When did you sleep with him, before or after you met me?"
"After." she answered quietly as Lance choked on his food.
"But it was when she thought you were dead." Kim interjected, trying to help.
"You knew?" three male voices asked in shock.
"Are you in love with JC?" Jeff asked his wife.
Katya summed up every ounce of acting talent she had and said, "NO I'm not!" She's lying. Three people at the table thought.
They were right.

Chapter 6

“I’m sorry I did that to you in front of everyone.” Jeff apologized as he sat in the kitchen watching Katya clean the last of the dinner dishes.
“Apology accepted. You were just worried.” She sighed.
“Do you love me?” He asked standing up and putting his arms around her.
“Yes Jeff I love you.” She said. But not the way I love JC, she thought.
“Was he better than me?” He asked nibbling on her ear.
“At what?” She asked confused. “Making love.” He answered kissing her neck.
Yes! She thought with guilt as she turned to face him She unbuttoned her dress and let it fall to the tiled floor.
“I’ll take that as a no.” He grinned, removing his shirt.
You do that. She thought guiltily as she kissed him, allowing him to pull her to the floor.

“So did JC and Katya have a thing before or after Fiona was born?” Lance asked in the car on the way home.
“After.” Chantel answered.
“So you knew.” Lance turned to his girlfriend in shock.
“She heard.” Kim muttered.
“What do you mean she heard?” Lance asked.
“What do you think she meant?” Chantel asked her boyfriend as she gave him a look.
“You mean you heard them… Whoa!”
“So everyone here knew about Katya and JC before but Lance?” Justin asked.
“I know how I found out and Kim found out when I basically told her. How did you find out Justin?” Chantel asked.
“By watching the two of them. It wasn’t hard.” Justin answered.
“I take it that everything that happened tonight is not to be repeated?” Lance asked.
“Especially to JC.” Justin replied.
“Why does it matter she said she didn’t love him.” Lance said.
The girls turned to give him a look as Justin did the same through the rearview mirror.
“She was lying?” Lance asked.
“She was lying.” They all responded.

Chapter 7

“Liz nothing is going on between Lucky and I.” Katya said to Rebecca.
“You two have been spending an awful lot of time together lately.” Rebecca shot back.
“We just got our daughter back.”
“Rub it in my face.”
“Liz I’m not rubbing anything in your face, but I’m not going pretend Lea doesn’t exist. Lucky loves her and just because I’m her mother and your not doesn’t mean he loves you any less.” Katya argued.
“Cut, print. That’s a wrap!” the director yelled.
“Ok so give us the scoop.” Rebecca instructed.
“You make us wait till the end of the day, it’s the end of the day. What nominations did we get?” Katya asked the director, anxious to know how the show did in Daytime Emmy nominations.
“Ok besides technical ones and Best show,” the director paused as everyone briefly celebrated, “we got nominations in every acting catergory.”
“Who? Besides Jonathan and Steve.” Katya asked smiling at the two male actors to her right.
“Well besides Jonathan’s Best Younger nomination and Steve’s Best Leading, Rebecca got a Best Younger and Anthony and Sarah got Best Supporting.” The director divulged.
“And who got Best Leading Actress?” Katya asked, “Tava?”
“No, you did.” The director said with a smile.
Katya stared at him for awhile, “Your joking right?”
“Nope.”
“I was nominated!” she screamed happily.
“Yes.”
“Oh my gosh I’m going to have to find a date Jeff has a show.”
“Ask JC.” Jonathan suggested.
“Good idea.”

Chapter 8

Ring! Ring!
“Hello?” Katya asked into the phone as she drove home.
“Kat.” A voice screamed into the phone.
“JC hey!” She smiled.
“I’ve been calling you all day.” He said.
“I noticed. I had 37 missed call messages when I got into the car.” She said with a laugh.
“You better know or I’m going to ruin it because I can’t take it anymore. CONGRATS Emmy nominee!”
“Thank you!” she laughed into the phone, “Speaking of the Emmy’s. Jeff has a performance that night and can’t go. If it’s okay with Jeff would you like to escort me?” she asked.
“I’d be glad to.” He answered.

“Say DaDa.” Katya heard Jeff say as she entered the house. “Say DaDa!” Jeff said again as she came into the room to see him bouncing Fiona on his knee.
“Jeff she’s barely over a year old. Give it time.” Katya laughed scooping her giggling daughter.
“I guess your right,” Jeff smiled as he got up and gave his wife a kiss, “so how was the day of the youngest Best Actress nominee ever?”
“How do you think?” Katya asked as she checked Fiona’s diaper and made a face.
“Was it that bad?” he asked.
“No. Dirty diaper.” She explained as she headed for the nursery with Jeff trailing behind her.
“I’m sorry I can’t be there with you. Have you thought of someone else you can ask?” He asked.
“JC if that’s all right with you?” She said carefully.
“I trust you. It’s okay with me.” He said as he watched Katya tickle and blow on Fiona’s tummy.
“Thank you.” she said gratefully.
“Your welcome,” He said joining her in playing with their daughter, “Say Dada!”
“Jeff!”

Chapter 9

About two months later

“You look great!” JC said as she crossed over into his room through the door that connected his adjoining room.
“Thank you so do you!”
“It must be best friend telepathy.” JC said looking at her off the shoulder blue gown which he thought made her look damn sexy!
“Must be!” she smirked as she looked upon his black suit with blue shirt and tie.
“Come on lets go get your emmy.” JC said grabbing her hand.

“I can’t believe they overlooked Rebecca again.” Katya whispered from her seat as a girl from Young and the Restless accepted her award.
“Well you have four more catergories to go and you guys got one when Lucky, I mean Jonathan won his. And before you ask yes I have been watching the show again.” JC smiled. By the time they got to Katya’s category the only other award the show had gotten was Best Actor for Steve. “Did you prepare a speech?” JC asked as they called off the nominees.
“I’m not going to win.”
“I bet you a back massage that you do.”

Chapter 10

“I’m ready for my back massage.” JC said victoriously as he walked into her room in an undershirt and boxer shorts.
“Jeff I have to go pay a bet…no bet not debt….thanks for calling…give Fiona a kiss for me,” she said into the phone as JC mouthed “Me to.”
“One for JC to….okay bye.”
“Did he call to congratulate you?” JC asked lying on the bed.
“No he called to find out if I won, the show is tape delayed in LA. I still can’t believe I went along with this bet. We haven’t made one like this since junior high.” She laughed as she sat on his lower back and kneaded her hands into his upper back.
“I’m really glad we got our friendship back.” JC said in a strange voice.
“Me to.” She said trying to hide a tremor within her own. “You know Josh there is something else we haven’t done since junior high.” She said with a impish grin.
“What?” he asked.
“Tickle fight!” she yelled as she attacked him with her fingers.
“Surprise attack.” JC countered as he flipped her on her back and went for the ticklish spots he knew so well.
“Cease fire.” She giggled as they caught their breaths.
God it feels good to be this close. They both thought.
“Charge!” He yelled as they once again started their tickle war.
Ring!
“Cease fire,” she breathed, reaching for the phone, “ Hello?…Jeff…okay…yes he is…a tickle fight..ok bye.” She said as she hung up with a strange look on her face.
“What’s wrong?” he asked looking down at her.
“He’s checking up on me.” She explained with a sigh.
“Why?”
“Because I’m with you.” She said looking up at him.
“He knows?”
“He knows that we got involved while he was in Russia. But he said he trusted me.” She explained, sighing deeply as a moment of silence passed between them.
“Do you still love me?” JC asked as he touched her cheek.
“Josh don’t ask me that.” She said removing his hand.
“Why not?”
“Because you know I can’t lie to you.” She whispered.
“I need to know Kat.” He said as he placed his forehead against hers.
“You know I do.” Katya breathed, trying to hold back tears.
“Say it please.” He whispered.
“I love you Josh.”

Chapter 11

one month later

"My your a beautiful little girl." "I tend to agree. Hello, I'm Katya Grinkova and that is my daughter Fiona. And you would you be?" Katya asked walking into her livingroom to find a strange woman playing with her daughter. "Roxy." Nice to meet you. I'm a um...um...old friend of Jeff's." Roxy said. "You mean an old girlfriend. It's okay he's allowed a past." Katya smiled. "You certainly have one." Roxy commented. "Excuse me?" Katya asked confused. "Oh I'm sorry. Um, Jeff told me about you and your best friend. That guy from *N Sync." Roxy explained feeling bad. "He told you?" "Was he not supposed to?" Roxy asked as Katya scooped Fiona up. "No offense but it was really none of your business." "I'm sorry." "Son't be it wasn't your fault, he's the one that opened his mouth. I would really appreciate it if you didn't repeat what he told you." Katya stated. "No prob, I wonder what's taking Jeff so long?" roxy wondered. "Is he upstairs?" "Yeah, you know I heard the phone ring maybe that's it." roxy smiled. "I'll go send him down for you." Katya said walking upstairs.

"Yeah...bye." Jeff said as he hung up the phone. "Your friend is downstairs." "Oh you met Roxy?" "Yes, and maybe you should discuss our marriage with me instead of her." Katya said coldly. "I need to talk to somebody about it." he said. "How long have you been in contact with her again?" "A few months." "A FEW MONTHS! Maybe your the one who should be checked up on." Katya yelled as she walked out the door towards Fiona's room.
