Chapter 7

One month later

“Congratulations Graduate!” The banner in the backyard read. Freddie was sitting with her feet in the pool talking to her best friend from California Kiki. “I still can’t believe you’re here,” Freddie exclaimed, “I thought you had finals and student loans to take care of.” “I took them early and JC paid for my plane ticket.” Kiki emphasized JC, she had figured out that Freddie was falling in love with her other best friend by the way her phone calls and letters sounded. She also figured out by the way that JC talked about Freddie that he cared for her as more than just friends. “JC paid for your ticket?” Freddie asked shocked. “I he thought I would be a great present, and I agree.” “That is sooo sweet.” Freddie said with a slightly dreamy look in her eyes. “Chris flew out your parents.” Kiki pointed out. “He’s still trying to make up for getting JC and I drunk after the Grammys.” Freddie said as her mood changed slightly. “You still can’t remember what happened that night?” Kiki asked. “No and I’ve stopped trying. I am just glad that when I wasn’t with the whole group I was with JC, at least we think I was. If I hadn’t been I probably would of woken up to a strange male stripper in my bed.” “I wouldn’t mind waking up with Justin or Joey or both in my bed,” Kiki said eyeing the two men who were playing with the kids, “drunk or not.” “Kiki!” Freddie shouted shocked, “You need to cool off.” She said as she pushed Kiki into the pool.

JC had been sitting down talking with Freddie’s parents, catching up on six years. “I am so glad that you and Freddie were able to become friends again.” Freddie’s mom gushed. “So am I mrs. Ciazzo.” Jc smiled. “The two of you have become like best friends haven’t you?” Freddie’s Dad aksed. “Freddie and the guys are the best friends I have ever had.” JC said in a serious tone. “You two have become really close haven’t you?” Freddie’s mom inquired. “Yes we have, and why do people always ask that?” JC asked before he heard a scream and a splash. He turned to see Kiki resurface.

“You little witch!” Kiki squealed. “Moi, what did I do?” Freddie asked with feigned innocence. “Haha very funny.” Kiki replied as she grabbed Freddie’s arm and pulled her into the pool with her. “Feel better now?” A now wet Freddie asked. “Yep.” A smiling Kiki answered. “Good.” Freddie said as she splashed Kiki in the face. “Oh Oh Oh this means war.” Kiki said as she and Freddie started throwing water and laughing at one another. Everyone was watching the two friends. “Excuse me.” JC said to the Ciazzos as he got up and walked to the edge of the pool. “Having fun?” JC asked the two in the water. Freddie and Kiki stopped and looked at JC. “Why on earth would that boy NOT like THOSE arms and THAT chest.” Freddie thought. “Damn he looks good in blue, “Freddie said to herself continuing her thoughts as she looked up at JC in his blue board shorts, “but he looks good in just about any color.” “Having Fun?” JC asked again. “Almost.” Freddie smiled as she slowly inched her way to the edge of the pool. “What do you mean al…HEY!” JC yelled as Freddie grabbed his leg and made him join them in the cool water. When JC came back up Freddie said, “Now I am having fun!” JC smiled wickedly. “Water Fight!” Kiki squealed as the three of them splashed and climbed at and onto one another. Justin, Joey and Chris had been watching the scene and looked at each other. “You thinking what I’m thinking?” Justin asked. “I think so,” Joey said, “Chris?” “BONZAI!” Chris yelled as he ran and jumped into the pool.

“Soup’s on!” Paul yelled. Everyone in the pool stopped and vaulted out, except Freddie and JC who were involved with underwater wrestling match. “Hey you two, unless your both on diets get your butts out of the pool and eat!” Lynn said as she dropped some towels and two plates of food on a lounge chair. Freddie and JC looked at each other, “Food!” JC jumped out of the pool and turned to help Freddie out. “Damn she looks good in blue, “ He thought looking at her slightly curvaceous that filled in her swimsuit nicely,” but then again she looks good in any color.” JC grabbed the towels and wrapped one around himself and one around Freddie. “Thank you.” Freddie responded as she shivered slightly at the newfound cold. JC felt her shiver and wrapped her in his arms and rubbed her back and arms in order to warm her up. This of course only made Freddie shiver more.

Chapter 8

A little over a month later

“Come on guys let me carry something, it’s my new place.” Freddie whined as JC, Justin, and the rest of the guys carried boxes of her stuff in and out of her new condo. She had gotten it a week after Lou asked her to work at Transcon full time in the P.R. Dept. “No you can unpack to your hearts desire as, but your not lifting anything.” Justin said as he came through the door. “Tinman your not being fair, your making me feel helpless. That goes in the kitchen.” She directed. “He’s is too being fair you haven’t been feeling well all week.” JC said as he passed by her to grab another box. “We don’t want you to get dizzy and faint.” Lance said as he carried a box into the bedroom. “If you did though we would drop everything and catch ya.” Joey said as he opened the fridge. “There’s no food in there yet Joey, and that’s nice to know.” Freddie said as she sat down to open a box. “If you faint I’ll kill ya,” Chris said, “it would scare me to death.” “Then I’ll try my best.” Freddie grinned. “What’s that?” Lance asked looking at a manila envelope in her hand. “I don’t know, let’s find out!” She answered as she opened the seal and looked at it. As she read the piece of paper inside her eyes widened with each line. “What is it?” Justin asked. She kept staring at it as she stuttered, “ It’s….um…..whoa…..I…me and…..it’s from Vegas!” She finally got out. “So do we have a clue to as what you did that night.” Lance asked. “Yeah I think so!” Freddie replied. “So what did you do, get married?” Chris asked as a joke. “Um yeah I guess I did.” “WHAT!” the four men in the house yelled as they ran to get a look at what Freddie was holding in her hand. “Oh my….” “Certificate of Marriage,” Justin read, “this certifies that on April 6, 2000 that Frederica Lynn Ciazzo was joined in marriage to…” “What’s going on?” JC asked setting a box down and looking at the group. “Well we figured out one thing that Freddie did that night in Vegas.” Joey explained as their attention was removed from the paper. “Oh really what?” JC asked. “Got married.” Chris answered. JC’s jaw dropped to it’s full extent. “You what?” He asked looking at Freddie. “What they said.” She said in a daze. “To who?” Jc asked. “We haven’t gotten to that part yet.” Justin replied as they all went back to the document and He continued reading, “ Yadayadyada was joined in marriage to OH MY GOD!”

Chapter 9

A few days later

“Yeah Kiki I know this is big…..No neither of us remember……I’m just surprised that the press didn’t get a hold of it……I know he’s coming over and we are going to discuss this……get an annulment I am sure…..because we were drunk and had no clue what we were doing…..I don’t think we did…..Kiki I know what I said at the party….Well at least I accidentally married…..Yeah well…..I could of married some stranger……What do you mean maybe I self consciously wanted to marry him…..YOU THINK I AM IN LOVE WITH JC?……of course I love him, like a friend…..yes a friend I am now married to…..Kiki….Kiki….KIKI….ok maybe, just maybe I have stronger feelings for him….ok so maybe I am in love with him….ok, ok, ok I am in love with him…. You happy now….NO HE DOES NOT FEEL THE SAME WAY ABOUT ME…..Kiki JC does not love me that way….I know he married me but we were drunk…..well my parents are not happy about this but they did tell me that they are glad it’s JC….they said that if their daughter was gonna accidentally get married to someone while drunk they are glad it's JC….Whatever Kiki this is not something to shrug at.” Freddie said as she looked up at the front door as JC walked up, “Kiki I gotta go he’s here……Don’t call him that……I know he is TECHNICALLY, but not emotionally…..whatever Kiki I’ll talk to you later bye.” Freddie hung up the phone. “Doors unlocked.” She said. JC opened the screen door and walked into, well his wife’s house. “My WIFE, this is soo weird.” He thought. “Have a seat, do you want anything to eat or drink?” Freddie asked. “No thanks.” He said looking at her, “She is so beautiful,” He thought, “And I married her, whoa!” “So have you thought about what you want to do?” She asked as she sat with her feet under her on the big comfy loveseat. “Well assuming that an annulment is the only real option Lou has set up a meeting tomorrow with a lawyer.” JC explained. “Why does this not make me happy?” he thought. “I know he told me right before my doctors appointment.” Freddie replied. “Why am I not happy about ending this accidental marriage?” she thought. “Doctor?” JC asked with concern. “Just a check up,” Freddie answered, “I haven’t been feeling 100% for a few weeks now.” “Oh ok.” JC said feeling calmer. “So the press still hasn’t gotten a hold of this whole mess?” she asked. “Not yet, but when they do….” “I’m sorry JC.” Freddie said with tears in her eyes. “For what?” He asked in shock. “For this whole marriage mess thing.” She answered trying not to let the tears spill. “It’s not your fault Freddie! If it’s anyone’s it’s Chris’s.” He said. “He already feels bad enough.” She said letting a few of her tears fall. JC got up from his seat on the couch and went over to her and pulling her into his arms. “Shhh! Don’t cry sweetie! Everything is going to be alright!” He said knowing full well that nothing was ever going to be the same.

Chapter 10

“Ok this isn’t going to be as easy as I should be considering that you two have been married for almost two months.” The lawyer Transcon had on retainer said as he, JC and Freddie discussed an annulment. “We didn’t know we were married though.” JC explained. “I know but the courts won’t necessarily believe that.” The lawyer said. “So we haven’t even been living together that has to say something.” Freddie interjected. “Yes that does look good for grounds for the annulment.” The lawyer replied. “So give us the pros and cons here.” JC said. “Well, the fact that you aren’t and never have lived under the same roof is a pro, but the length of the marriage so far is a con, the fact that the press hasn’t gotten a hold of it is a pro. I do have a question for the two of you though if you don’t mind my asking.” He asked JC and Freddie. “What?” They asked at the same time. “Well depending on your answer this could be a pro or a con, did you two consummate the marriage?” “Well um actually we have talked about that.” JC said. “But we don’t remember.” Freddie continued. “Well there is no certain way to find out unless you remember or if you were pregnant.” The lawyer said looking at Freddie. JC’s eyes widened as he turned to look at Freddie, “Are you?” Freddie’s mind reeled, “I don’t think so, but I never thought there was reason to.” “Well maybe you should go..” “I have a doctor’s appointment at three.” “So you have thought…” “No, I just haven’t been…oh my god!” Freddie said starting to panic. “Freddie we woke up in separate rooms, so it’s highly unlikely that we did make love and therefore it’s highly unlikely your pregnant, unless you’ve been…” JC said trying to calm her down but the last thing he said made him feel awful, thinking of her with someone else. “NO, NO! No one.” “Well we could have you take a home test now.” The lawyer said.

“I can’t believe I just had to pee on a stick!” Freddie said coming out of the bathroom. JC laughed. “Well I am glad you found that funny.” Freddie said sticking her tongue out at him. “You guys sure you want to get an annulment?” They looked at the lawyer with confusion in their eyes. “Well you two seem to have the kind of relationship most married couples pray for.” He explained. “Yeah well most married couples are in love with each other.” JC and Freddie said at the same time. “A one way love is no fun.” Freddie and JC thought at the same moment. DING! Freddie jumped out of her chair by what seemed to be three feet. “Well I guess we are about to find out whether you two are going to be parents.” The lawyer said as Freddie made her way to the bathroom. When she walked in she went to the counter where the test was and looked down.

“Ok, lets find out what’s wrong with you,” the doctor said,” how long have you been feeling ill?” “About three weeks.” “And your late period was?” “Two months ago give a weeks or two but I’m not pregnant, I took a test an hour ago.” The doctor smiled, “We’ll take some test anyway just to be sure.”

“Well Miss Ciazzo, whatever test you took it was wrong!” “Excuse me?” Freddie asked shocked. “The pregnancy test you took was wrong you’re definitely pregnant.”

Chapter 11

Freddie opened the door to her place. “I’m going to have a baby.” She thought as she gazed at her surroundings a couch, loveseat, coffee table, and lots and lots of boxes. “Why does everything look so different?” she asked herself. She went to the fridge and pulled out a Dr. Pepper and was about to open it, “Wait caffeine is a no no.” She put it back and took out a bottled water went and sat down on the couch and opened it. “What kind of human being am I?” she asked to her empty home. “I don’t even remember conceiving my own child.” A look of pain mixed with confusion and love came across her face, “I conceived a child with my best friend who I happen to be in love with and married to but he doesn’t love me and thinks that I am not pregnant. Geez this sound like one of those stories that the guys fans write.” She muttered as she realized how ridiculous this all seemed. “My god I have to tell JC!” she thought as she picked up the phone, “You can do this but not over the phone just tell him you need to see him right away” she said dialing JC’s cell phone. “You can do this, you can do this. Hello?….Justin?…..I must of dialed the wrong cell….oh….well can I talk to JC?…….Ok I’ll wait…..” Ding! Dong! “Hold on Justin someone’s at the door.” She said as she put the phone down and got up to answer the door. “STEVEN! What the hell are, actually I don’t care just get out.” She said looking at the man in the doorway. “NO I’ve bee looking for you everywhere and you are going to be punished.” He said. “What the hell are you talking about?” she asked. “You’ve been a very bad girl.” He answered hold a gun up and pointing it at Freddie and fired as she screamed.

Chapter 12

“So you two are getting an annulment instead of a divorce because you don’t think that you to had sex when you got married?” Joey asked as the guys sat around the backyard of Justin’s house. “Basically.” Was the answer. “JC can I ask you something and do you promise to answer honestly?” Justin asked. “Of course.” “Well Freddie’s my cousin and I love her and don’t want to see her hurt and this whole thing seems to be hurting her and…” A look of enormous pain came of JC’s chiseled face,” I know that’s why I am pushing the lawyer for this annulment.” “But what I was gonna ask was do you want to get an annulment or would you like to stay married to my cousin?” Justin asked, “I’d wanna stay married to her.” Joey said. “It doesn’t matter what I want.” JC answered, avoiding the question. “You know if you stay married to Freddie you and Justin would be cousins.” Chris said. “Oh god perish the thought.” JC joked as he got up. “Where are you going?” “To help J’s mom in the kitchen.” JC said as he disappeared into the house. “I think he’s in love with her.” Joey said to the guys. “NO really?” Chris said with sarcasm. “He fell in love with her years ago, before she left Florida.” Justin explained. “Really?” Lance asked. “Yeah she’s been in love with him that long to but I don’t think either of them knew then.” “But you think they do now?” Lance asked. “They definitely know that they are in love with the other, they just don’t know that the other is in love with them.” Justin said as JC’s forgotten cell phone started ringing. “Hello?” Justin asked picking it up. “Uh hello?…yeah Freddie?…no this is JC’s cell phone….I am just answering it…he’s in the kitchen…it maybe awhile…ok I’ll hold. “ “Who’s Steven?” He thought as he heard what was going on through the phone that Freddie had set down. “Punished for what?” Then he heard a boom and Freddie scream.

“FREDDIE!….FREDDIE!….FREDDIE!…shit, MOM!” Justin yelled, “ Quick call the cops and an ambulance, please don’t let us need the ambulance, and tell them to go to Freddie’s.” Justin ordered as tears of fear streamed down his face as he ran into the house and up to his room for his car keys. “Justin what’s going on?” JC screamed at him as he came upstairs. “ I was on the phone with Freddie when some guy named Steven came to the door and I think he hurt her.” Justin explained trying not to scare JC too much by telling him the whole truth. A look of fear came over JC, “hurt her how?” he asked as they ran down stairs. “It doesn’t matter how we just need to get over there.” “Hurt her how?” JC asked again as he grabbed Justin and gripped him like a vice. “Ow dude that hurts.” “HOW?” JC shouted. “Ok ok I think he shot her.” JC looked at Justin in terror, froze, then ran out the door.
