Chapter 16

     JC, Justin, Lance and Chris were sitting on the floor watching the Grammy nominee broadcast. Joey was laying on the couch.
     "You know, I found out why Anndee left." Lance told JC.
     "It doesn't matter now, she's moved on with her life." JC replied.
     "She found out about the fall in sales 4 months ago."
     "Shhhh," Chris said, "I wanna hear the nominees."
     Voice from the television: " Nominees for Best New Artist are, Lanna Lyan, Ty Riches, Sistermine, and Anndee Claracuzio."
     "OH my god I'm so happy for her" JC said with tears in his eyes.
     Joey looked at Justin "tell him" he mouthed.
     "No make Lance do it," Justin mouthed back.
     Lance gave them a dirty look.
"Best New song is up next shhhh!" Chris yelled.
     "We weren't making any noise."
"Sorry force of habit"
     TV: "The nominees for Best Song are, Loving you, Kiss me Goodbye, Shoop doop Shoop, and Eternity."
     They all looked to JC.
     He just sat there.
     TV: "the nominees for best trio or group are.”
     "SHHHH!"
     TV: "BSB, Boys II Men, the Dixie Chicks and…”
     "Please please please"
     TV: "*N Sync"
     "YEEEEES!"
     "Alright"
     "Awesome"
     "This is so great," Lance said," Oh by the way JC, Anndee's pregnant."

Chapter 17

     "I have to go, I don't belong," Anndee sang, "but don't forget. I'll love you fo..." the door to the recording room flew open. "JC!" Anndee yelled with surprise.
     "We have to talk, NOW!" JC yelled.
     "We have nothing to talk ab..."
     "We most certainly do!" JC yelled cutting her off.
     "Stop yelling," she said," it's not like you."
     "I haven't been myself for months now," he said in a quieter tone, "I know why you left."
     "You do?" she said in shock
     "Sales didn't go down because of you," he stated," BSB had just released a new album."
     Oh my god, how stupid was I? she thought, I've ruined my life for nothing.
     "Sales actually went up when the rumors about youand me came out." JC told her.
     "It doesn't change anything, JC"
     "Of course it does!" he said, "I know about the baby!"
     I'll kill em! she thought about her friends. Quick think! she said to herself. "Why would you worry about the baby?" she asked.
     "Of course I'll worry about the baby!" he exclaimed.
     "Why?" she asked as she made her way to the door to leave, "it's not yours."

Chapter 18

     "The baby's not mine."
     "WHAT!"
     "You've got to be kidding me?" Joey remarked.
     "JC you really don't think that do you?" Lance asked.
     "She told me so herself." JC answered.
     "She' lying." Britney yelled.
     "Why would she lie about a thing like that." Justin questioned.
     "Man she's totally flipped," Chris muttered, "maybe she's been around me too long."
      "Because, she knows JC will want to marry her and she thinks that will be the end of all our careers." Lance answered Justin.
     "Anndee's moved on, obviously with someone else," JC stated,"and THEY are gonna have a baby."
     "JC do you really think o moved on that fast?" Britney asked.
     "Yes, she told me she has." JC said with tears in his eyes.
     "I can't believe that Anndee is pregnant with someone else's baby?" Joey exclaimed.
     "She's not!" Britney screamed.
     "Wait, your the one who told us she was pregnant!" Chris replied.
     "She is!" Britney exclaimed.
     "But you just said she wasn't!"
     "I meant the baby isn't someone else's it's JC's!" she said in exasperation.
     "But she said it wasn't mine!"
     "JC," Britney said," Anndee hasn't left the house, except for recording sessions, for four months! This baby is defienately yours!"

Chapter 19

     "I can't believe you lied to him?" Cori railed.
     "I can't believe you lied to me!" Anndee yelled back.
     "Why on Earth would you want to do this without him?" Cori screamed.
     "I don't WANT to do this without him, I HAVE to do this without him." Anndee yelled.
     "But this is his baby too!" Cori yelled.
     "Stop yelling," Shanna stated, "it's not good for the baby."
     "Sorry." Cori replied, "it's just that I'm your best friend and want what's best for you and when you go and screw up your life like this it pisses me off!"
     "You are really going to sacrifice you and the baby to save the guys' careers.?" Shanna asked.
     "YES," Anndee replied, "IF it was just JC then maybe, I'd tell him the truth for the baby's sake."
     "So you lied to him to save the others!"
     Anndee looked at them with tears in her eyes, "What's one life compared to five?"

     JC just stood there in total shock.
     "JC, hey JC man!" Justin said waving a hand in front of JC's face.
     "OH my god," JC finally said.
     "He speaks!"
     "Shut up Chris!"
     "She's going to have my baby!"
     "You knew that before she lied to you!" Joey replied.
     "She's going to have my baby!"
     "I don't think it hit him until now." Lance responded.
     "She's going to have my baby!"
     "You said that already!" Justin said.
     "Twice!" Chris smiled.
     "Do you know what this means?" JC asked.
     "UM that Anndee is gonna have your baby?" Chris asked.
     "I'm gonna be Dad."
     "Yeah man you are!" Justin replied.
     "WHOA!"Joey exclaimed, "I always thought Lance would be the first one!"
     "You thought Lance would be the first one to get someone pregnant?" Chris asked, "I always thought it would be you!"
     "HEY!" Lance and Joey exclaimed.
     "So JC," Britney asked ignoring the guys, "is this good or bad?"
     "What?"
     "Becoming a dad."
     "This is WONDERFUL!" he responded.
     "REALLY?"
     "Yes, I knew from the moment I first realized that I loved Anndee that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her."
     "She's been making that kind of difficult." Chris cut in.
     "And I knew the moment that she kissed me that I wanted her to be the mother of my children."
     "JEEZE! JC," Chris said, "you really are a deep thinker."
     JC started for the door.
     "Wait, where are you going?"
     "To Anndee's!"
     "Dude, that's not gonna work!" Justin stopped him.
     "Why not?"
     "Because she is not gonna talk to you!"
     "After what I have to tell her, she will!"
     "No she won't," Lance stated, "She is sacrificing her and the baby's happiness to save ALL of our careers!"
     "Then how do I get through to her?" JC questioned.
     "I have an idea," Chris answered, "but it's kinda crazy."
     "Figures." Britney rolled her eyes.

Chapter 20

      "Okay Marie's on her way over so do you want to explain?" Lance asked Chris as he put down the phone.
     "Not yet we can wait till Marie gets here, will save me from having to explain twice."
      "Yeah right, you love talking, you just like keeping us in suspense more." Britney muttered.
     "Well Marie was in her car and near by so it won't be long."
     "It's good to have a girlfriend who's a reporter isn't it?" Chris asked.
     "I guess."
     "What are we gonna do while we wait?" Joey and Justin asked.
     "I wonder if it's a boy or girl?" JC said dreamily.
     The others smiled.
     "We have really got to move fast thought guys." Justin stated.
     "Yeah," Britney agreed, "she is already four months along."
     The door bell rang and Lance got up to answer it. "Marie honey, thanks for coming over and dropping everything!" Lance said giving his girlfriend and hug and kiss on the cheek.
      “What ever it is it's that serious?" she said looking at him, "only the cheek."
     "I'll make up for it later." he replied.
     She smiled and looked at the group, "Whoa, what's up with JC?"
     "Sit down, we'll explain everything"...

     "Poor thing" Marie said, "but how can I help?"
     "Well," Chris looked at her, "your a reporter right?"
     "Yes."
     "And you would like to get to a story before the others do right?"
     "You mean your gonna let me air this?" she exclaimed in shock.
     "Whoa, wait a minute Chris!" JC, Joey, Lance and Justin exclaimed.
     "I love it!" Britney said, " I guess college did pay off, Braid boy!"
     "How is this gonna help anything?" JC asked.
     "Hello! Knock knock!" Chris sputtered, "how better to show her that she can't ruin our careers than outing ourselves!"
     "I get it," Lance and Justin stated.
     "I don't" Joey responded.
     "So your gonna let me air this story in hopes that Anndee will see it and come to her sense?"
     "Exactly!"
     "Now I get!"
     They all laughed at Joey.
     Lance took Marie's hand in his, "So will you do it?"
     "Hell yes! this is a story of a lifetime!"

Chapter 21

a few days later

      "How about Evangeline?" Anndee asked Cori and Shanna. Don't they go anywhere besides my place, she thought.
     "That's pretty!" they both said.
     "What about a middle name?" Shanna asked.
     "Aislinn,"
     Evangeline Aislinn, how pretty!"
     "It means heaven' s inspiration." Anndee told them.
     "How beautiful, were did you come up with that name?" Cori asked.
     A pained expression came over Anndee's face.
     "OH" Cori said knowingly.
     "What if it's a boy?" Shanna asked.
     "Oh that's easy, Jos..." Anndee trailed off.
     "I guess if your going to keep this from him, you can't name the baby after him can you?"
     "No I guess not." Anndee answered.
     Just then Britney came bursting into the room, "Quick, Channel 7!"
     "What?" Anndee asked as Cori flipped the remote. "Hey it's Marie!" Anndee said with happy surprise, "They finally gave her a chance."
     "It must be an awesome exclusive.!" Britney said looking at Cori and Shanna.
     She knows something, they thought.

Chapter 22

     ""What the hell is she doing! Lance is gonna kill her!" Anndee screamed as she watched Marie tell about the private lives of *N Sync.
     "Lance?" The other three exclaimed as they looked at her.
     ""Really really miffed?" Anndee offered.
     ""Actually he's not." Britney stated.
     ""How would you know?" Anndee asked.
     ""Because I was there when Lance and the guys asked her to do it." Britney explained.
     ""They ASKED her to do it?" Anndee yelled.
     ""Yep."
     ""Good move, boys." Cori said.
     "Lou is gonna kill em." Anndee muttered.
     ""No he's not, he was in agreement." Britney replied.
     ""So he finally realized a fan isn't really a fan if they won't except everything about the guys?" Shanna asked.
     ""Yep, and because girls don't hate Anndee, there's no Anndee sucks sites on the web."
     ""Are there any anti-Britney sites?" Shanna asked knowing full well what the answer was.
     ""Harsh much!
     ""Sorry."
     ""He's doing all this for me?" Anndee asked.
     ""No," Britney answered, "he's doing it for himself. He basically can't function properly without you."
     ""Check!" Cori said.
     ""Check?" Shanna asked.
     ""A chess analogy." Cori answered.
     ""OH."
     "TV: "In short," Marie said into the camera, " two of the members are already taken girls, well at least one of them is taken," she said with a smile, "and the other is desperately trying be be taken. On a personal note: Anndee, if your watching and I know you are, JC wants you to know that baby are no, he is going to do everything and anything to get you back. Because he wants to spend the rest of his life singing your song."
     "Cori looked at Shanna," Checkmate!"

Chapter 23

     "I can't believe what he's risking to get me back?" Anndee exclaimed, still staring at the now blank television screen.
     "I would risk my life to get you back!" JC said in the doorway.
     "Now where on earth did he come from?" Shanna asked.
     "He's been outside with us." Chris said as he appeared in the doorway to stand next to JC.
     "Man get out of the way were gonna turn into raisins out in this heat." Justin said and the three remaining members of *N Sync pushed their way through the door.
     "Now THAT would be the end of your careers," Britney quipped," how long did the California raisins last anyways?"
     "Maybe we could cool down using some of your Silicone."
     "Or maybe we could attach a motor to your head and use your braids as a fan!" Britney shot back.
     Anndee smiled, everyone froze. "What?" Anndee asked.
     "That's the first time you've smiled in months." Cori answered her.
     "I've missed that smile." JC said to Anndee.
     "By the looks of Anndee's not so flat anymore tummy, I'd say that's not all you missed!"
     "CHRIS!" Seven voices rang out.
     "I warned you.." JC stated.
     "I was JOKING!"
     "I can't believe you let Marie go on national television and say all that!" Anndee exclaimed.
     "Your not gonna hurt her are you?" Lance asked.
     "What would make you think that?" Anndee asked astonished.
     "We could hear you screaming at the TV from the walkway." Justin answered.
     "I didn't know you had quite a set of lungs on you!" Joey stated.
     "I did." JC stated.
     "JC!" Anndee yelled turning red with embarrassment.
     "I...I..." JC stammered equaling in shade to Anndee's pallor.
     The girls giggled, while Justin, Lance and Chris stifled a laugh.
     "I didn't know you two argued that much?" Joey said.
     At that everyone burst into gales of laughter.
     "What did I say?" Joey asked.
     "Joey, they weren't saying that Anndee argued a lot, but that she..."
     "Chris!" JC cut him off.
     "Ok, I learned my lesson already." He said lightly touching his nose.
