No one is forcing you to read what you are on this medium of expression. If you don't like it, then you can leave, no questions asked. If you really don't like it, you can write us an email saying so. We'll even write back. That is your freedom and we're not going to try and stop you. In fact we encourage you speak out about what you don't agree with, God knows we are. The articles on here are about how we feel and it's our freedom in this country to post these. Some of the things written about are touchy, others are humerous, some just plain stupid. But these are problems that we feel strongly about and wish to rant about. We tried other mediums, such as the school paper, but they're heavily censored. This place isn't. The creation of this newspaper was for that simple reason, that anyone can speak out. The views of one writer may not be the views of the others, but as editor, it is my duty to make sure that one person has as much freedom as another on this newspaper.
The articles dealing with racism are touchy. But they're written humorously and bluntly and without regard for the stigma race brings. The reason that is is because the writers feel that that stigma isn't needed. They aren't trying to drive 2 races apart, but itstead poke fun at both in the hopes that others will follow and instead of having race as something touchy, it becomes something funny. If someone can joke about something, they are obviously accepting of that something. We are sure some of you won't like the humor and if you're offended, we apologize. We're sure there are views you have that offend us, but that's okay. We're all allowed to carry our views and some people express their views differently. This is how we express ours.
We hope you continue reading and we hope we have your continued support. We also hope this inspires you to speak out and create positive and constructive change in the school.
