Setting: A giant airport hangar was used in Van Nuys, California to handle all the various sets used in the video. The sets include the nightclub, the car, the almighty chair setup, and the bridge. The bridge took up the majority of the space, which is probably why they needed the hangar.

Plot: The plot of the video revolves completely around Britney Spears. It all begins when she walks into the club and finds her boyfriend cheating on her with another girl. Eventually, she storms out of the club and begins to drive home, when all of a sudden a chair hits the road and Britney's car begins to spin out of control. As it stops, Britney realizes that she is stronger, and she doesn't need anybody.

Rehearsals: Britney had a short rehearsal session at Millenium Studios two days before the actual video shoot to familiarize herself with the choreography regarding the chair dances. She also had a short session to learn the choreography on October 2nd, so the one on October 3rd was basically a rebreather on the routines. "I'm really just touching up on yesterday so I'll feel really really confident with the choreography to the point where I won't even have to think about it, I'll just do it."

Accidents: Oh the chair, that metal (yes metal) thing that Britney now despises. During one of the chair dance scenes, she jumped onto the chair, and slipped off it falling straight down to the floor. Her knees also started bleeding after working with that chair for so long as well.

MTV Making the Video: Joseph Khan talks about the video being about Britney Spears, and a large emphasis is placed on that !@#% metal chair. This aired November 3rd, 2000 on MTV.

Guest Appearances: Paul Hutchings is the actor that plays the boyfriend who is cheating on Britney, and Angela Sara is the actress that plays the girl who has stolen the boyfriend from Britney.

Delay: This video had to be perfect, so the initial finished product was delayed by Jive for almost two weeks, until it finally came out and shocked us all. Good things do come to those who wait after all. :)
