Nintendo 64 owners will be happy to see the goodies Activision and Luxoflux are packing into their version of Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense. The game has expansion pack support, 10 arenas, 12+ cars (including a camper truck armed with a pack of killer bees and a school bus that emits toxic fumes), and 12+ drivers to choose from. A new arena, Super Dreamland 64, was made specifically for the N64. The multiplayer options include two-player co-op quests, and three- and four-player modes. The gameplay has been tweaked slightly--weapons have new attacks and there are power-ups that morph your vehicle for navigation in specific environments; for example, skis are added for the snow. Graphics have also been sweetened with exhaust, fog, water effects, brake lights, and improved explosions. Due this fall, Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense is set to kick up a cloud of dust on the N64. |
