Episode 1: Pokémon, I Choose You!

Ash begins his Pokémon journey and is attacked by Spearows.

Intros: Ash, Pikachu, Misty, Prof. Oak, Gary Oak, Ash's Mom.

Note: Ash recives a Pokémon - Pikachu

Episode 2: Pokémon Emergency!

As Pikachu heals, The Viridian City Pokécenter is attacked by Team Rocket.

Intros: Jessie, James, Meowth, Officer Jenny, Nurse Joy.

Pokémon:

Note: Misty joins Ash until he "repays her for her damaged bike," Ash's first Pokémon fight.

Episode 3: Ash Catches A Pokémon.

Ash catches Caterpie and Pidgeotto which win a fight against Team Rocket, and Caterpie evolves.

Intros: Caterpie, Metapod, Pidgeotto

Pokémon:

Note: Ash catches two Pokémon and one evolves; Ash wins his first battle using his own Pokémon.

Episode 4: Challenge of the Samurai

Ash fights Samurai, Metapod is taken by Beedrills and than evolves.

Note: Metapod evolves - Ash wins another fight.

Episode 5: Showdown at Pewter City

Ash fights Brock, the Pewter City Gym Leader, and wins in the end with a super-charged Pikachu and some sprinklers. Brock
joins Ash and Misty.

Note: Brock joins Ash. Ash recives the Boulder Badge

Episode 6: Clefairy and the Moon Stone

Ash and friends, along with Seymore the scientist, help the Clefairy save the Moon Stone from Team Rocket.

Note: Misty's first fight; Brock catches his first Pokémon on the quest.

Episode 7: The Water Flowers of Cerulean City

Ash fights Misty for the Cascade Badge, until Team Rocket interrupts (again)

Note: Misty is revealed as a gym leader.

Episode 8: The Path to the Pokémon League

Ash fights A.J., a wild trainer who's going for his 100th victory

Episode 9: The School of Hard Knocks

Ash and friends help a failing student at a tough school.

Note: Another Misty fight, another Ash fight.

Episode 10: Bulbasaur and the hidden village

Brock discovers a Pokémon safe house guarded by a Bulbasaur.

Episode 11: Charmander - the stray Pokémon

Ash and friends help save an abonanded Charmander who joins them.

Episode 12: Here comes the Squirtle Squad

Ash & friends help a town troubled by a gang of Squirtles called the Squirtle Squad.

Episode 13: Mystery at the Lighthouse

Pokémaniac Bill and our heroes await the arrival of a Dragonite, and learn about other types of Pokémon.

can't fit all the icons on here.

Note: Ash's first Pokémon catch that is sent to Prof. Oak.

Episode 14: Electric Shock Showdown

Ash challenges Lt. Surge, leader on the Vermillion City Gym, to a Pokémon match that puts Pikachu against his evolved form,
Raichu.

Note: Ash earns another badge

Episode 15: Battle Aboard the St. Anne

Our heroes try to stop a gang of Team Rocket members from taking over the S.S. Anne, until it sinks, with Ash, Misty, Brock,
Pikachu, Jessie, James, and Meowth inside.

Intros: Magikarp, Giovanni and other members of Team Rocket.

Pokémon:
also, James has a vision with many Pokémon in it, but I can't fit all the icons!

Note: Ash makes his first trade (Butterfree for Raticate) but gets Butterfree back in the end, and this the the first episode that runs
in a more-than-one-part format. And this was the first American-aired episode. James gets another Pokemon

Episode 16: Pokémon Shipwreck

Our heroes call a temperory truce with Team Rocket and try to escape the sunken ship but in the end they get caught up in a
Gyarados's dragon rage attack.

Intros: Gyarados

Note: James gets rid of his Pokémon, we learn Misty has a Goldeen.

Episode 17: Island of the Giant Pokémon

Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Meowth, Ekans, and Koffing are separated from their trainers and try to survive, but are
being attacked by giant Pokémon.

Intros: None

Note: Our first chance to finally find out what the Pokémon are saying.

Episode 18: Tentacool and Tentacruel

A bunch of Tentacools led by a giant Tentacruel attack Porta Vista, a coastal town.

Note: Misty catches another Pokémon

Episode 19: The Ghost of Maiden's Peak

Ash and friends lean of a ghost that comes once a year to wait for it's lost boyfriend, which Brock and James fall in love with, until
they find out the ghost is a Gastly.

Note: The first time James falls in love with someone, but it isn't Brock's first time.

Episode 20: Bye Bye Butterfree

Ash's Butterfree is rejected by a pink Butterfree, until it saves the other Butterfrees from Team Rocket, and Ash waves goodbye as
the first Pokémon he ever caught flies over the horizon to mate.

Episode 21: Abra and the Psychic Showdown

Ash challenges the Saffron City Gym Leader, Sabrina, to a Pokémon fight, but Pikachu gets seriously hurt, and Ash and his
friends are turned into dolls. But Ash soon learns that a ghost Pokémon can beat Sabrina's Psychic Pokémon, so it's off to
Lavender Town.

Intros: Sabrina and the little girl

Note: The first episode that ends with Ash not beating the gym leader.

Episode 22: The Tower of Terror

Ash and friends explore the Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town, inhabited by a Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar. But Ash soon learns
that all the ghosts want is someone to play with, so Ash dosen't catch one, but Haunter followes Ash, because Ash played with
him.

Note: Ash "gains" a new Pokémon. (He didn't actually catch Haunter)

Episode 23: Haunter Versus Kadabra

Ash challenges Sabrina again, but Haunter disappears, so Ash uses Pikachu, until Haunter arrives and makes Sabrina laugh for the
first time.

Note: Ash loses a Pokémon (Haunter stays with Sabrina), and Ash wins another badge

Episode 24: Primeape Goes Bananas

Ash and friends try to escape a mad Mankey, who evolves into Primeape, and Ash makes yet another catch.

Episode 25: Pokémon Scent-sation

Team Rocket helps Ash sneak into Erika's gym, which they set on fire, trapping Erika's beloved Gloom inside. Ash rescues it and
is awarded the Rainbow Badge for his bravery

Episode 26: Hypno's Naptime

Ash and friends investagate a missing child report caused by the psywaves of a Hypno

Episode 27: Pokémon Fashion Flash

Misty tries to get a makeover for Psyduck, but is tricked into getting an ugly makeover by Team Rocket, until a Vulpix saves is
day, and is given to Brock

Episode 28: The Punchy Pokémon

Ash enters Primeape in the P-1 championship, who must compete against a stolen Hitmonlee and a Hitmonchan owned by a man
who dosen't pay attention to his family.

Note: Ash loses a Pokémon (Primeape is now training to be a true P-1 champ)

Episode 29: Sparks fly for Magnemite

A bunch of Grimers block of the electricty to a city and it's Pokemon Center, until Ash and friends, and a Magnemite, save the
day.

Note: Ash catches another Pokémon

Episode 30: Dig those Diglett!

The construction of a dam is cut off because it's being built in Diglett and Dugtrio territories.

Intros: Arbok and Weezing

Note: Team Rocket's Pokemon finally evolve, and Gary has another cameo.

Episode 31: The Ninja Poke-Showdown

Ash challenges Koga, the next gym leader, to a Pokemon battle, but they team up to stop Team Rocket (again).

Note: Ash earns another badge. (He now has six)

Episode 32: The Flame Pokemon-athon!

When Lara's arm is injured, she askes Ash to race her Ponyta in the Pokemon race and beat Dario's Dodrio, which is possible
when Ponyta evolves into Rapidash.

Note: Misty gets to use another Pokémon besides Psyduck.

Episode 33: The Kangaskhan Kid

Ash and friends help reunite parents with their son who lives in the Safari Zone.

Episode 34: The Bridge Bike Gang

In order to save a sick Pokémon, Ash and friends must first cross a bridge through a rainstorm, and battle Team Rocket's old
gang.

Note: We learn that Jessie and James used to be in a bike gang.

Episode 35: Ditto's Mysterious Mansion

Ash and friends help Duplica save her Ditto from Team Rocket

Episode 36: Pikachu's Goodbye

Ash and friends discover a Pikachu hiding place, where they save the Pikachus from Team Rocket and have Ash's Pikachu
worshipped as a god.

Episode 37: The battling Eevee brothers

At a Pokémon evolution party, a boy named Mikey is pressured on what he will evolve his Eevee into, until Eevee saves his
brothers Pokémon from Team Rocket

Episode 38: Wake up Snorlax!

A Snorlax blocks the water supply to a town, until Ash and friends help out.

Ash, Misty, Brock, and Team Rocket are involved in a battle between the Yas and Kas gyms of Dark City

At a carnival, Ash is put under Hypnosis and forced to help a bad magician

Meowth falls in love with Casandra, a trainer who tries to evolve her Paras. Paras does evolve, after it beats Charmeleon, and a little
help from Team Rocket

Note: Team Rocket actually helps someone, and we learn Charmeleon dosen't obey.

Episode 42: The Song of Jigglypuff

Misty, Ash, and Brock try to help a Jigglypuff sing, but people fall asleep when Jigglypuff sings, even other Pokemon

Pokémon: also, James has a vision about
capturing Pokémon, with several different types in it.

Note: Team Rocket doesn't do their motto, they sing. (groan)

Episode 43: Attack of the Prehistoric Pokemon

Ash and Team Rocket are trapped in a cave filled with Prehistoric Pokémon, including an Aerodactyl which would've had Ash for
a light snack if it weren't for Jigglypuff and Charizard

Intros: Charizard, Togepi (egg)

Pokémon: (egg)

Note: Jigglypuff's second appearance, Gary's third appearance, Charmeleon evolves, Ash finds Togepi's egg

Episode 44: A Chansey Operation

After Team Rocket crashes a truck filled with Pokemon, everyone must heal the Pokémon, with a little help from a Chansey

Episode 45: Holy Matrimony!

James's parents trick him into coming home so he can be married to a prefect girl, Jessiebell, but she's a little TOO perfect

Intros: James's Growlithe, Growlie

Note: We learn James used to have a Growlithe, and we meet his parents

Episode 46: So Near, Yet so Farfetch'd

A young thief steals Misty and Team Rocket's Pokemon, by tricking them into capturing his rare Farfetch'd.

Episode 47: Who gets to keep Togepi?

The egg that Ash found at Grandpa Canyon hatches, revealing Togepi, and Ash, Misty, Brock, and Meowth fight for the right to
own Togepi

Note: Yes, Aerodactyl was the 'Who's that Pokemon?' Misty gets a new Pokémon, Ash's Pokédex is upgraded, and we learn
Meowth can be tender. (sometimes)

Episode 48: Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden

Ash and friends find the Mysterious Garden, where Bulbasaurs gather to evolve, except Ash's Bulbasaur chooses not to evolve.

Intros: The powerful Solarbeam Attack.

Note: Bulbasaur chooses not to evolve.

Episode 49: The Case of the K-9 Capor

Ash tries to train Pikachu at a police dog training school, but the school is attacked by Team Rocket who use voice-changing gas
to confuse the obedient Growlithes

Note: Jigglypuff makes a third appearence.

Episode 50: Pokémon Paparazzi

A photographer named Todd keeps trying to take a picture of Pikachu, but Pikachu doesn't like getting his picture taken.

Note: Well, once again, Team Rocket screws up by not reading the fine print. And, we learn the Pikachu doesn't like cameras.

Episode 51: The Ultimate Test

Ash takes a Pokémon Masters test, along with Nurse Joy, and Team Rocket in disguise. But Team Rocket tries to ruin the test
after Jessie and James fail.

Note: Todd makes a second appearence, Ash, Jessie, and James get to use other Pokémon besides their own, and this is the first
episode to feature a normal Meowth.

Episode 52: The Breeding Center Secret

A breeding center is really being run by two Team Rocket members, who take Misty's Psyduck and other Pokémon, as well as
getting out heroes arrested.

Intros: Cassidey and Butch, the new Rocket members

Note: Our first intro to new Rocket members, Todd leaves the group, and Ash & friends out arrested! Also, James got a
