LEASHA POWERS

It has "No title"

It was May 6th the night of the prom,
me and my guy were just driving along.
I thought it would be a memorable night,
But it soon turned into a horrifying sight.

We were just at a party hangin' around,
it had groups of people and hardrock sound.
My parents told me to always fear,
when I see a friend drink beer.

And if they ask me to get in the car,
tell them, "I'll walk it's not that far.
"I should have remember that little phrase,
when I saw my boyfriend drunk and dazed.

We were laughing, talking, and driving along,
just having a good time until something went wrong.
My boyfriend swerved to miss a hole,
and we ran head first into a telephone pole.

When I awoke I saw a nurse,
and outside the window, a creepy hearse.
When I ask her what happened to Ted,
she said, "I'm sorry but he is dead.

"Now my boyfriend is not with me,
it is not worth your life, you see.
Please remember that little phrase,
next time you see someone drunk and dazed.

"MOM"

mom, you mean so much to me,
you mean the world you see,
I love you with all my strength and might,
you make my dark world turn into light,
you make me smile when I'm sad,
you teach me to be happy when I am mad,
you know what's always best for me,
and stick to it even when I don't agree,
you listen when I need to talk,
you go with me on an evening walk,
you joke with me about lots of stuff,
and comfort me when times are rough,
you always seem to understand,
you're what I'd reach out for when I'm on quicksand,
because I know you'll always be there for me,
and that's why you mean the world to me.

This is a lovely poem by Leasha Powers

The Lord works in a mysterious, yet loving way
you may feel he's not listening when you want to pray.
But he's there right with you listening real close
so believe with your heart and don't just suppose.

The Lord is the loving father and creator of all
so when you need him all it takes is one simple call.
He'll love you, care for you, and make you brave against your fears
he'll protect you, guard you, and comfort your tears.

Some people are hypocrats, they think they know him
they think to attend church it'll be easy to get in.
Think where your spending eternity and what would be smart
to be absolutely sure you must ask the Lord into your heart.

The devil is true and not scared to hide
but the Lord will keep watch and the devil will subside.
The devil will try to make you lie, steal, and not love
but the greatest power is the power above.

Problems of life may have been hard when it began
but it is all of God's wonderful plan.
If you make the right decisions has your life goes by
you'll be living a wonderful life with the Lord on high.

If you have any dougt if he loves you are not
and you can't seem to get rid of the bothering thought.
Thinks back to the past that's guaranteed true
when Jesus was brutally crucified just for you.

So as I conclude, I want you to know
to keep your chin lifted high and never look low.
Because the Lord has loved you even before your birth
and without the Lord what is your life worth?
