While playing the game, hold R1 while pressing Left, Left, Square, Circle, R2, Right, Triangle, L2. If entered correctly, a sound should be heard. Then, pause the game and at the options menu, you should see a cheat selection at the bottom of the page.

V-FORCE

Hidden options:

Reach level 16 and return to the main menu. There should be two additional options available. Pick the bottom option to display a hidden option screen. It will allow you to do the following:

FMV sequences to be viewed
background music to be played
character biographies to be displayed
story line to be revealed.

Unlock trophies and cars

When the game progress screen is displayed, press L1, R1, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Down, Up, Down, X, X + Select. If entered correctly, a sound will be heard. When this sound is heard, you should first highlight an empty square, then press X to unlock the matching car and trophy.

VICTORY BOXING 2

Change attributes:
During game play, press Start + Select for your boxer's attributes to change.

VIGILANTE 8: SECOND OFFENSE

Password screen
Enter the options screen, select "Game Status", highlight one of the characters, then press L1 + R1.

Rapid fire
Enter "RAPID_FIRE" as a password to remove the delay when shooting weapons.

Super missiles
Enter "BLAST_FIRE" as a password to increase the damage from missiles.

Faster cars
Enter "MORE_SPEED" as a password.

Heavier cars
Enter "GO_RAMMING" as a password to increase your car's weight and ramming ability.

Lighter cars
Enter "HI_CEILING" as a password to decrease your car's weight and hover higher than normal.

Fast action
Enter "QUICK_PLAY" as a password to enable a random fast action arcade feature.

Enter "UNDER_FIRE" as a password to have three enemies attack simultaneously.

Enter "DRIVE_ONLY" as a password to disable wheel attachment icons from spawning.

Enter "MIXED_CARS" as a password to allow more than one person to select the same car in multi-player mode.

Disable all codes
Enter "NO_CODE" as a password.

Original levels
Pause the game, remove the game disc, then insert the original Vigilante 8 disc. If done correctly, the message "V8 levels enabled" will be displayed. Insert the Vigilante 8: Second Offense disc again. Then, quit the current game to access the original Vigilante 8 levels as well as the new levels.

Alternate vehicle color
At the vehicle selection screen, highlight a vehicle and press Circle to change its color or intensity.

Play your own music
Pause the game, open the PlayStation lid, and replace the game disc with an audio CD. When the game resumes, the music from the CD will begin playing. A prompt for the game CD will appear after the level ends.

Complete the following tasks to unlock each character in the game:

Coyotes

Lord Clyde: Complete all objectives in quest mode with Nina Loco, Molo, and Dallas 13.
Obake: Complete all objectives in quest mode with Lord Clyde.
Boogie: Complete all objectives in quest mode with Obake. Note: You cannot play Quest Mode with Boogie.

VIGILANTE 8

Avalanche at the Ski Resort:

Shoot down any three trees on one side and an avalanche will occur. This works good when people are by the trees.

Bonus Cars and Maps:

There are 4 secret cars: The School Bus, The Manta, The Semi-Truck, and the "UFO" Van. You will most likely encounter these vehicles while playing on the maps against the computer, and in Arcade mode you can pick to play against them... But being able to use them is a different story. You must first go to Options and then to Game Status... If you haven't beat the game with anyone yet, all the people's faces will be black and white. This is a Tekken-style "secret". See how there is a sort of chain with the characters an then empty slots and a bigger empty slot... Well, to get that first empty to slot, you must beat it with the 2 characters that it is connected to... Once you get the 2 secret characters in the top "chain" and beat it with them, you get the secret map. The bigger "slot" in the top "chain".

Do the same thing with the bottom "chain" and you will get the other secret map and the 2 other secret characters. Something special MAY happen once you have UNLOCKED everything, but that isn't a guarantee.

Change the Soundtrack:

If you'd like to listen to something different, replace the Vigilante 8 CD with your favorite music CD after you've started a level.

Playing Tip:

Choose to be the UFO on the secret base level. Go into the top secret area(the place where all the lasers shoot you.) Start at one end of the big building and drive straight through. If you shoot above the missle launcher a missile comes out and shoots your targeted opponent. You can do this as many times as you want at either end.

Roadkill Mines - Sticky Blue Orb:
To activate this attack press Left-Right-Down-MachineGun.
This costs only two mines.

Note: The sticky blue orb is invisible until you or an opponent gets close enough. These mines hold you for about 10-15 seconds before detonating. You can get away only if you are driving at top speed in one of the three fastest cars.

Secrets:

On the ski level go to the bottom of the hill and enter the lodge doors, your car will get onto the lift and it will take you to the top of the mountain. This works the other way as well.

In the Las Vegas level you can find the blimp flying over, watch where it lands then enter the door that opens. It will take off and allow you to fly it over the city, get over a building and wait until it drops you on the roof.

In the airplane graveyard you can drive your car between the flight tower and electric polls. The flight towers are located at each corner of the level, they are the towers with the flag on the roof. This will cause the B-52 bombers to come out and bomb your opponents.

In the farm level you can shoot the valves beside the water canal, then a huge wave will go through the canal damaging any car trapped in the canal.

In the secret military level you can shoot the ladders beside the stealth bombers, then go over to where the satelitte dishes are located and drive by the red and green lights to make the bombers hit your opponet.

On the hover dam level you can hit the switch in front og the dam by the water to make an electric burst of energy go through the water zapping your opponent.

In the Canyonland level, get in the middle of the circle of rocks. A gold beam will come down and teleport you elsewhere.

On the level Sand Factory at one of the load things that a truck would pull in to load sand in the back of it you can shoot at one of the poles with the machine gun only once. An elevator will lower and you can get on it. This is an easy way to get on the upper levels. Search around for the loader!

On the snow resort level shoot 3 large trees to cause an avalanche! Boulders will start to roll down the slopes!

Special Attacks:

Each weapon has two secret moves. The manual tells you one and these are the other ones.

Interceptor Missiles: Halo Decoy
Up-Up-Down-Fire Machine Gun Cost: 2 Missiles (This will cause any homing missles or special to follow your missles instead of you. Useful but not easy to pull off. This is one of the only ways to cause the Gamma Storm from Beezwax to miss!)

Bull's Eye Rockets: Stampede
Up-Down-Up-Fire Machine Gun Cost: 1-5 Rockets (This shoots up to 5 of your rockets in quick succesion. They don't aim automaticly so most will miss unless your target is stationary: I.E. stalled or In a Bear Hug Mine. Also using this while spinning around is grea for multiple enemies.)

Sky Hammer Mortar: Turtle Turnover
Down-Down-Down-Fire Machine Gun Cost: 2 Shells (Against a human opponent this is the bomb *hehehe* that's funny.. kinda.. Anyway. This will cause the opponents car to flip over on it's roof. The computer flips right back up. But some of the bigger cars take a while so it can be usefull.)

Bruiser Cannon: Cow Puncher
Down-Up-Down-Fire Machine Gun Cost: 2 Shells(Ah yeah. This not only does a lot of damage in one hit it also throws the opponent for a loop. Well, it just pushes them back and sometimes will tip them over. Great fun if your opponent is on the side of a cliff.)

Roadkill Mines: Cactus Patch
Left-Right-Up-Fire Machine Gun Cost 1-6 Mines(This is the only way to drop mines. They Bear Hug is great for slowing down someone. But since it does no damage I use it sparingly. This Will cause you to drop up to 6 mines in a area behind your car. If someone is following you they are guaranteed to hit at least one of them. And the best part is that unlike Twisted Metal 2, mines stay where you put them. So be careful. I've blown myself up because I forgot that I lined a turn with them.)

Also, these special moves work even if the weapon is not your selected weapon (think 3X wammys.) I've done it only once and my opponent was toast.

Special Attacks Tip:

Having a problem entering special attacks with the analog controller? There is an easy way to solve this problem. Go to options. Go to controller one (or wichever controller you are using). Set the digital pad "up" button to "Accelerate" and set the "down" button to "brake". Now you can steer with the analog and enter most of the special atacks with the digital pad!

Turbos:

To activate this code press up-up-up-machine gun.Costs one homing missle. When you do this a homing missile will latch onto the side of your vehicle and you will travel at the same speed as the missile.

Whirling Blades at Farm:

When you go to the farm level shoot at the big windmill tower thingies. When they fall the blades on it will pop off and they will start to chase either you or the computer.
