 The Dead Moon Circus Saga:
The leader of the Dead Mon Circus is Queen Nephrenia. Their purpose is to capture a being known as Pegasus (who is hiding in a person's Dream Mirror) and utilize the powers of the Golden Crystal. With the Golden Crystal, Queen Nephrenia (Queen Nehelenia) will be able to break out of the dark dimension she was banished to (by the original Queen Serenity), invade Earth, and fill it with her evil Lemures, or Nightmares (Remlesses, in the CWI dub). At of the beginning of the Dead Moon saga, Queen Nephrenia (as well as the rest of the Dead Moon Circus) is stationed in that dark dimension.
Zirconia is Nephrenia's main servant (along with Zirconia's side-kick, Zircon). The other members of the Dead Moon Circus are split into 2 groups: the Amazon Trio (Tiger Eye, Hawk Eye, and Fish Eye) and the Amazoness (Amazon) Quartet (PallaPalla/ParaPara, CereCere/CeleCele, VesVes/VesuVesu, and JunJun). Their missions are the same: to capture the Dream Mirror that contains Pegasus (the key to the Golden Crystal).
Queen Nephrenia (Queen Nehelenia): Queen Nephrenia's past was a lonely one. She was in complete solitude for many thousands of years. How could she stay alive that long? Well, after the original Queen Serenity banished her to the Dead Moon, Nephrenia began to feed on the dreams of others to keep herself young, beautiful, strong, and alive. She lived like this until one day, she finds a mirror with spectacular powers. That mirror became her companion of sorts. She then went crazy and turned most of her servants into Lemures (or Nightmares). She sends for her loyal servant, Zirconia, to dipatch agents that he could find (worthy and strong enough) to go to Earth and capture Pegasus (the creature that help the key for Nephrenia's breaking out of her dark dimension: the Golden Crystal!). Zirconia then travels to a realm of gifted creatures and selects 3 of the most skilled ones. He then casts a spell of the creatures to turn them into people ( the Amazon Trio). Queen Nephrenia ands up having Zirconia dispatch another set of agents to do the same job (after the Amazon Trio fail) (the Amazoness Quartet).
The Sailor Senshi end up meeting Queen Nephrenia in the palace of her dark dimension for a finah showdown. Nephrenia is defeated (by the combined efforts of the Sailor Senshi) and is sealed back into her dark realm. In the next SailorMoon series (SailorMoon Stars) , however, the Queen returns, wanting to extract revenge on Serena (Sailor Moon) for confining her to her lonely reaml once again. When the Sailor Senshi hear of this, Sailor Moon powers up into Eternal Sailor Moon and turns Nephrenia into a child again, letting her start her life all over again.
Dark Crystal Factoid(s):
-After the end of the SM Super S saga, Queen Nehelenia does seal herself within the darkness of the shadow of the new moon, but comes back at the beginning of SM Sailor Stars. You see, an eerie voice (later on to be found out to be Sailor Galaxia) calls to Nehelenia, beckoning her to return to Earth and extract the revenge she wasn't able to get in her Golden Crystal attempts! Nehelenia siezes the opprotunity and breaks free of her seal. Powered up with mightier magic and NEW minions (Mirror Pareodies of herself), she storms to Earth. In the process of her Sailor Stars appearance, she is able to kidnap Darien/Mamoru, separate the Sailor Senshi (Inners and Outers, who return from SMS), and do horrendous battle! In the end, the Senshi are able to infiltrate Queen Nehelenia's fortress and with Eternal Sailor Moon's new powers of healing, Nehelenia is reverted back to her form as a young child, without evil inside of her, and ready to begin a new life.
Zirconia: She is Nephrenia's trusted servant. Zirconia is quite old, along with being rather crusty and ugly (^_^). Zirconia commands the Amazon Trio (after casting a spell on them, allowing them to do his bidding), and the Amazoness Quartet later on (after the Trio lose faith with the Dead Moon and all that hey stand for). Zirconia does not do anything but boss the Trio and Quartet around. She does, however, keep in good spirits with them because she fears their poer potential. To help her, Zirconia has a side-kick named Zircon (a flying eyeball, basically). As soon as Nephrenia acquires the Golden Crystal, Nephrenia kills Zirconia ( for the simple reason that Zirconia is no longer needed for the purposes of Nephrenia and the Dead Moon).
Dark Crystal Factoid:
*In the English dub of SailorMoon Super S, Zirconia is a MALE! ARGH! Just keep the genders as they are, for a change! ^_^.
*In the manga version of SailorMoon Super S, Zirconia's full name is Soul Hermit Zirconia.
*What many people fail to realize is that in the SM Super S anime, it is Zirconia's chanting of the phrase "Never doubt the powers of innocent dreamers; never doubt the dreams of innocent children; never doubt your worst nightmares" through Queen Nehelenia's royal mirror that convinces Nehelenia to use the powers of her subject's dreams to fuel her own ambitions of being young forever and for killing the surviving members of the White Moon.
The Amazon Trio: (Tigers Eye, Hawks Eye, and Fish Eye).These 3 members of the Dead Moon are given human appearances by Queen Nephrenia's powers. They are assigned to find the Dream Mirror that conatins the creature, Pegasus. Of course, each of the Amazon Trio members attacks people based on their personal tastes (which can cause a major conflict with their mission if one of them becomes too attached with their target). Each of them has certain things about their personalities and ways of acting that gets them into trouble and failure. Eventually, Queen Nephrenia gets tired of their constant failures and tells them that the spells she put on them (using her powers) will cease to work come the next new moon. The only way for them to keep their human appeaances is to use the powers of Pegasus' horn. They fail the Queen once again, of course, and the Queen gets ready to strip them of their powers. But, then Pegasus come into the picture and uses his powers to make them human PERMANENTLY and takes them to his Crystal Forest where they can live in peace and harmony.
THE END OF THE AMAZON TRIO (their bios are below):
-Fish Eye goes after Hawks Eye (to stop him from harming the wrong person).
-Tigers Eye is sent by Zirconia to stop Fish Eye from doing something stupid. However, Zirconia calls upon his "new" soldiers to take care of the failed Amazon Trio.
-The unknown shadow (PallaPalla/ParaPara) uses her Pool Ball Orb (Billiard Ball) to send out Lemure Magic Perrot to kill the Amazon Trio.
-The Amazon Trio and the Sailor Senshi meet up with each other (at which time Fish Eye reveals who the real holder of the Golden Mirror is).
-Sailor MiniMoon/ChibiMoon drops from the sky (while still in a crystal block), wakes up, and calls upon Pegasus to get rid of the enemy Magic Perrot. (Before that, the Amazon Trio sacrifice their powers to revive Sailor Moon's Dream Mirror, so she could kill the monster).
-Magic Perrot is killed and the Amazon Trio return to their animal-like forms; dead.
-Pegasus uses the power of his Golden Horn and revives the Trio, giving them Dream Mirrors!
-Pegasus and the Trio go to Elysion, where Pegasus says that he hopes that light returns to the forest (of Elysion)....someday.
Tiger Eye: Tiger Eye can safely be considered the unofficial "leader" of the Amazon Trio. After all, he has gone after more targets than Hawk Eye and Fish Eye put together! However, he isn't totally perfect. He happens to be extremely narcissistic (vain). Tiger Eye is also a "ladies-man" of sorts and craves the attention of young women (tenage girls and young women). There is only one thing wrong with that: they also happen to be his targets for Dream Mirrors! (Don't mix business with pleasure, guy! ^_^). Some of his more noteable targets include Amy, Raye, Mina, Molly, and Lita. (Tiger Eye becomes particularly close with Lita and vice-versa). Wherever he'd fail at doing something, he'd brake his trademark weapon, his whip, by snapping it in 2. (*Note: Tigers Eye is the only Amazon Trio member to not completely realize his ultimate destiny, along with Fish and Hakws: to be turned back into animals at the next setting of the new moon. He does, however, agree to use the power of his life and of the other Amazon Trio members to bring Serena/Usagi back to life and to destroy Magic Perrot).
Hawk Eye: Hawk eye has got to be the wacky one of the Amazon Trio. His wild, flaming-hot pink hair perfectly matches his personality. Fate somehow saw fit to give Hawk Eye misfortune from the very beginning (which would help to explain why he'd constantly fail his missions and why he's considered the least successful of the Trio). He prefers (and targets) older women, citing them as kind, wise, and nurturing (perfect conditions for Pegasus to live in that type of Dream Mirror). He and his partner, Tiger Eye, are always in arguments over the types of women that they like. Hawk Eye's weapon of choice is a torch that he blows into and shooots flame out of. Some of his more noteable targets include Serena, Serena's mother, and Mina. (Would you like to take Hawk Eye home to mom, ladies? ^_^). Hawks Eye also had the distinction from the very beginning to know what he and the other Trio members were really for and how it was Queen Nehelenia who had granted them the abilities they now have, minus Dream Mirrors. He doe not let on during the course of the season that he knows what is really going on until the Amazon Trio's final battle with Magic Perrot.
Fish Eye: He is the "oddball" of the Amazon Trio in the way that he prefers men over women (as targets and interests) and dresses up and scts like a woman when trying to attract a man! (He is definetly in tune with his "feminine side" ^_^). Seeing that his original form was a fish (Tiger Eye was a tiger and Hawk Eye was a hawk) makes it more understandable that he has a phobia of cats (which isn't too good when Diana, the child of Luna and Artemis, takes a liking to him! ^_^). His only true noteworthy target is Darien (even though he manages to get to Lita's Dream Mirror). Fish Eye is very intelligent , which leads him to uncover 3 important, vital bits of information (in reagrds to the Dead moon and the Amazon Trio). He finds out the true identity of Sailor Moon (Serena), the location of the Dream Mirror that conatins Pegasus (in Rini's Dream Mirror), and that Queen Nephrenia and Zirconia are really just using the "resources" of the Trio and don't care what haappens to them once they are done with them. (*Fish Eye was the key factor in the Amazon Trio's "break-away" rebellion from the Dead Moon Circus). (*His weapons of choice are knives, which he throws and then misses most times! ^_^).
Dark Crystal Factoid(s):
*In the CWI English dub of SailorMoon Super S, Fish Eye is a FEMALE! If you listen very closely to the dialogue in the dub, you can hear 'jokes' and 'slip ups' leading to Fish Eye's true sex (^_^ no jokin'!).
