 Mina is the Sailor Senshi of love and warmth, Sailor Venus (in addition to being the Princess of Venus, her home planet). She is loving, caring, and has a "magnetic" type of personality (a personality that people have a true desire of getting to know better). Of the Inner and Outer Senshi, besides Amara (Haruka/Sailor Uranus), Mina is the most athletic (clearly showing everyone that her favorite sport is volleyball). As her Senshi identity, Sailor Venus, she seems to be a "natural born" leader, directing Sailor Moon in some of the things she should, shouldn't, and must absolutely do.
 If you aren't familiar with the manga (or have only been exposed to the DiC dub of the 1st SM season), you probably do not know that Sailor Venus has been a Sailor Senshi longer than ANY of the 4 other Inner Senshi. Why, you may ask? Well, before Serena/Usagi and the others even knew they were Senshi, Sailor Venus (known back then as Sailor V) was fighting crime and solving mysteries in the country of England (with the help of her guardian cat and smart-alec confidant, Artemis). She and Artemis would go around and solve "unexplainable happenings" in England and who those things were caused by (henchmen and henchwomen of the NegaVerse/Dark Kingdom). In the 1st season anime of Sailor Moon, (after the 4 Inner Senshi are united with Sailor Venus at their battle against Zoisite/Zoicyte and Malachite/Kunzite on a cargo pier for the Rainbow Crystals), the anime does explain the origins of Sailor Venus (but not in as much detail as the manga). Mina used to live in Englad and used the ID of Sailor V to help her crime-fighting police friend and keep her boyfriend of a lengthy period of time safe. Then, one day, there was a firey explosion at a building, at which Mina's boyfriend and police officer friend were present. Because she wasn't sure whether or not Sailor V (Mina) had died, the police officer lady tells Mina's boyfriend that Sailor V had perished in the fire and that they should stick together, for "comfort". Sailor V, however, was not kileld and was witness to the pervious conversation. After realizing that her future in england is over, she moves out of England and moves elsewhere (to escape what could have been, but ended up not becoming true).
 As the SailorMoon series goes on, (especially when it gets to SailorMoon S and beyond), Mina seems to lose the amount of maturity and responsibility she had in the beginning of the series and slips into the same bad habits Serena seems to have (^o^ ahhh! ^_^). For instance, in the 1st episode of the SMS series (episode 90, "Star Struck, Bad Luck"), Mina is always misquoting SOMETHING! (Example: Mina says "There's no use crying over mis-spelled silk."Amy/Ami is quick to correct her and say that the quote is really "There's no use crying over spilled milk" ^_^). The infamous habit of being "boy-crazy" is also passed down to Mina. In the SMS series, Serena and Mina meet a person they find very attractive and intriguing (at the arcade). And all throughout that episode, Mina and Serena follow this person around town (which makes for a totally funny episode). They both try to "subtilely" appeal to their "crush", but nothing seems to work (and the more anwswers they seem to get, the more confused they are). at the end of the episode, the person they thought to be their perfect "man" turns out to be a WOMAN (and Haruka, no less!! ^_^). This "setback" doesn't stop Mina in the least. though. (*In SailorMoon Super S, Mina "plays" Hawks Eye and Tigers Eye in a "see-saw" game of love and in the SailorMoon Sailor Stars season, Mina goes absolutely nuts over the Three Lights). Too bad for Mina, even though she is the Senshi of love, she had seemingly bad luck at it (^_^).
 As with most characters in the SM series, their characters are better explained in the SM manga. However, Sailor Venus' purpose in the manga equivalent of the 1st season seems to be different than most characters' are. You see, back in the Silver Millenium (in the manga), Sailor Venus mimicked as Princess Serena/Serenity (in case the NegaVerse was to attack the Moon Kingdom, the decoy Moon Princess would be taken, leaving the real Princess and the Silver Crystal safe and sound). Venus was always aware that she could be killed by queen Metallia or queen Beryl at any time (but luckily for her, she wasn't).
 Overall, Mina (or Sailor Venus) is a great person (despite the inheritance of Serena's/Sailor Moon's bad habits ^_^). Many people (especially her Inner senshi friends) respect her for who she is, not what she may sometimes fake at being. Their support is always with her, no matter what. Her past is just as amazing as her "present", and her future is sure to be one that Senshi observers will be tracking for some time. (Maybe Mina could get together with Amy, Raye/Rei, Lita/Makoto, and Serena ad they could all try out to be the next big Pop sensations! It could happen ^_^).

-In the 1st season SM manga, Sailor Venus commands the the sword, found in the ruins of the Moon Kingdom, that is the key to killing Queen Metallia (with which Queen Beryl is killed).
-Mina's Japanese name (Aino Minako) means "beautiful little child of love" when translated.
-A "manga-exclusive" Sailor Venus attack is her "Rolling heart Vibration". The shape of a heart is formed in Venus' hands and she letsit loose ina "cycling" motion at the enemy.
