 The Silver Millenium:
The Silver Millenium was a period of time in our Universe's history that all realms in it were getting along very well. There was peace everywhere and love was, as well. Of all the realms in our Universe, it was the Moon Kingdom that was the most prosperous and joyous of them all. The ruler of the Moon Kingdom was Queen Serenity. She had a daughter by the name of Princess Serena (whom she was training in her own footsteps to become the next ruler of the Moon Kingdom). Some of you may think that things would be going very smoothly for this Moon family, but it wasn't so. Queen Serenity tried her very hardest to train her daughter in the ways of royalty, but nothing was more important to the Princess than the love of her life, Prince Darien, the Prince of the Planet Earth. They would secretly see each other (any moment that they could), even against the wishes of Queen Serenity.
Now, Queen Serenity, Prince Darien, and Princess Serena aren't the only major characters involved in the Silver Millenium. The Sailor Senshi (Sailors Mars, Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury) were part of Princess Serena's court, sworn to protect the Princess and the moon Kingdom (from invasions and attacks). Each Senshi was the Princess of her own planet (depending on what their name was), making them royalty as well. Not only did they protect the Princess from the enemy, but they also giuded the Princess that best that they could (in her making the right decisions about her "future" with the Prince of Earth, Prince Darien, things of that kind). As the SailorMoon series goes on, it is revealed that Sailor Senshi Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, and Pluto are also part of Princess Serena's court (sworn to perform the same duty as the other Sailor Senshi).
Queen Serenity:
Queen Serenity was the original ruler of the Moon Kingdom and Serena's (Sailor Moon's) TRUE mother. She is the reason why all of the Sailor Senshi exist. She cared a lot about her daughter, Princess Serena, and the Moon Kingdom. She was kind and very gentle to everyone. Everyone, except those from the dark recesses of the Universe.
She was Queen of the Moon Kingdom for a lengthy time. The most "famous" part of her reign occured during the Silver Millenium. It was during that part in our Universe's history that the evil Queen Beryl and the NegaVerse (in the Japanese version, it's the Dark Kingdom). After finding out from the Prince of Earth, Prince Darien (and Princess Serena's only true love) that Queen Beryl was on her way to destroy the Moon Kingdom, the Queen made Prince Darien the leader of her forces. Of course, it isn't long before Queen Beryl makes her way to the Moon Kingdom and destroys every single piece of matter in sight. Queen Serenity's armies tried their very hardest to combat against the forces of the NegaVerse, but they proved to be no match. After Beryl siezes the opprotunity to kill Princess Serena and Prince Darien, Queen Serenity is totally
distrought. She is extremely angry at Beryl, yet sad for the loss of the people that she loved. The, using all of the strength she
has left, she is able to send the NegaVerse back to where they came from and she is also able to seal the remaining members of the Moon Kingdom (Princess Serens and her court) within the Imperium Silver Crystal. She then hurles the Crystal to the planet Earth, in hopes that her loved ones will be reborn and lead better lives. It isn't all that long after that until she dies. She dies with the hope for a better future for all of her loved ones.
  
 Princess Serena: Princess Serena is the heiress of the Moon Kingdom and Queen Serenity's daughter. She always was the type of person that loved to have a fun time and didn't care much for responsibilities. Even though her mother, in addition to her friends, the Sailor Senshi, tried to keep her mind focused on being a "lady-like" Princess of the Moon, she (the Princess) focused on something that was more important to her: the love of her life, the prince of Earth, Prince Darien. She fellin in love with him the first time she saw him. And ever since then, she has sneaked out of the Moon Crystal palace to see Prince Darien, even if it means her getting punished. To her, noting was more important to her than being with Prince Darien (and vice versa).
All of this "fun and games" courtship between the Princess and Prince Darien comes to a sudden halt when Prince Darien notifies Princess Serena of an evil force that has already occupied the planet Earth and is on its way to destroy the Moon Kingdom (in order to take over the Universe). He tells her that he must battle against this evil force (by the name of Queen Beryl and the NegaVerse) and that he may not come back. She gets very emotional, but ends up getting around to the realitization of the seriousness of the NegaVerse's threat. Later that evening, Prince Darien disguises himself as Tuxedo Mask (in order to be able to dance with the Princess one last time). They have a wonderful time dancing as they become the center of attention at the party. After the party ends, Princess Serena and Prince Darien step out onto the balcony and once again announce their undying love for each other. They vow to be together, not matter what, always. Then, they lock in a kiss (see my pic^_^).
Not much time goes by when Queen Beryl and the NegaVerse finally arrive in the Moon Kingdom, destroying everything in sight. The evil Queen Beryl then attacks Princess Serena, but is stopped by a rose from Prince Darien. The Prince and Queen Beryl exchange a few words before Beryl zaps Prince Darien into the atmosphere, tearing him away from Princess Serena. Princess Serena cannot stand being away from Prince darien one second so she jumps into the air after him. Queen Beryl sees this and she zaps them both, killing them instantly. (*In the manga, Prince Darien gets killed first. Then out of sorrow, Princess Serena kills herself by using a sword and stabbing herself). Queen Serenity then uses the poweers of the Imperium Silver Crystal to vanquish the NegaVerse and send Princess Serena and her court to a better future on Earth. Princess Serena is later reborn on the planet Earth as Serena.
   
  
Prince Darien: (*Technically, Prince Darien isn't a member of the Moon Kingdom Family, but for the sake that he is a vital part of the Silver Millenium, I'll include him on this page). Prince Darien was the Prince of Earth and the lover of Princess Serena. He and the Princess had a strong love bond that could not be broken by anything. Even though it was forbidden that the people of Earth mingle with the people of the Moon, Prince darien went against those odds and continued to see his one and onyl love, Princess Serena.
By nature, Prince Darien was a strong-willed type of person. When he'd set out to do something, he'd do so and to the best of his ability. He was a very skilled fighter, which helps to explain why Queen Sernity chose him out of all people to lead her forces in the attack agains Queen Beryl and the NegaVerse. The night before Queen Beryl invaded the Moon Kingdom, Prince Darien explained to the Princess that even though he may not come back to her, she will always be in his heart, forever and always. He then embraces the Princess and kisses her passionately (for the last time....).
The next day, Queen Beryl and the NegaVerse invaded the Moon Kingdom. They were ruthless and relentless in their attacks, vaporizing anything that they could get their hands on. When Prince Darien sees that Queen Beryl is about to attack Princess Serena, he throws a rose at Beryl. Beryl is then takes by Prince Darien's looks and invites him to become a member of the NegaVerse. Prince Darien refuses and Queen Beryl blasts him into the sky. Princess Serena then goes after him, but the 2 are soon blasted by Queen Beryl and are killed. (*Prince Darien is reborn on Earth (via Queen serenity and her act of heroism) as Darien).
   
   
NOTES:
During the 1st SailorMoon series, the Prince and Princess are awakended. Once Prince Darien awakens, he is taken by the NegaVerse and brainwashed into serving them and getting the Imperium Silver Crystal from the Princess. Time foes on (and so do some major battles with the Senshi and Beryl's generals) and Sailor Moon makes her way to Beryl's Dark Palace. She encounters Queen Beryl and refuses to fight against Prince Darien. Instead, she heals him and gives him back the memories Beryl had tried so hard to erase. Queen Beryl then hurles a gigantic crystal at the two, but Prince Darien throws a rose at it, breaking it into many pieces. The rose strikes Beryl's heart and she sinks through the floor.
After seeking guidance from the NegaForce (Queen Metallia in Japan), Beryl's body is then possessed by the NegaForce and she wreaks havoc through the Earth's surface. Sailor Moon then appears and challenges Beryl to a final battle. Sailor Moon then ends up morphing into Princess Serenity, her original form, and uses the powers of her Silver Imperium Crystal to vanquish the evil Queen Beryl from Earth FOREVER (with the help of her Senshi allies, of course).
***LUNA AND ARTEMIS, THE GUARDIAN CATS OF SAILOR MOON AND SAILOR VENUS, ARE ALSO QUEEN SERENITY'S "CAT ADVISORS", GIVING THE QUEEN ADVICE WHEN SHE'D NEED IT. LUNA AND ARTEMIS WERE SENS IN SPACE TIME CAPSULES TO THE FUTURE (OUR PRESENT) TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF PRINCESS SERENA DN HER COURT. ALSO, THEY HAD TO ASSEMBLE THE SAILOR SENSHI IN CASE THE EVIL QUEEN BERYL WERE TO RETURN TO EARTH (SEEKING WORLD DOMINATION AND THE IMPERIUM SILVER CRYSTAL).***
