Checker football was invented to simulate, as closely as
possible, the game of football. Except for the physical
part, I have tried to incorporate as much of the game of
football as I could into my boardgame. An understanding of
the game of football is helpful but not required. An eight-
year old can play this game and understand the concepts.
The game is multi-dimensional in the fact that it allows a
younger sibling to compete with on older one or even with
an adult once he perfects these concepts. Just as in the
real game of football, Checker Football allows for a keen
sense of competition.
Checker Football is played on a board that resembles a
minature football field. There are ten rows of eight
squares per row and two end zones, each of which contains
two rows of squares. There are no hash marks because they
have no value in this boardgame. However, the goal lines
are indicated by the "G" and the yard lines are marked with
numbers.
The checkers represent the players with the offense having
eleven players and the defense a total of twelve. The
defense is given the extra player because the quarterback
in this game is so powerful. In fact, the Checker Football
quarterback is the most powerful game piece of any board
game that I have ever seen.
The basic concepts of the game can be learned in just a few
minutes, but it could take years to become a master.
The only drawback I have found is that is extremely
"addictive".
The game sales for $25.99 this includes shipping. So get your
